So...we just got back from our SECOND gymnastics class of the week. DD#2 LOVES gymnastics. She is built for it too. She is long and lean. Well, not that long...we are all shorties...but long enough for her age anyway. Her usual daily routine (even before we started the gymnastics classes) was wake up...got to school (which is half day kindergarten) and then come home and will bounce, flip, cartwheel, handstand...whatever she could think of....until bedtime.

So...we caught on and signed her up for gymnastics. She is only six and can do some pretty amazing things. (Like a round-off back handspring, by herself) She says she wants to compete someday...anyhow...we got back around 6:30...it is now almost 7...and she hasn't stopped doing cartwheels. Not even for a second. One of her teachers had an old practice beam and gave it to her...it sits right on the floor...and she is determined to master the cartwheel on the beam...even if it kills her. I wonder how many she can do before she throws up. At this rate, I think I might just find out!!!

2infinity&beyond- That's awesome. DD takes gymnastics too but so far all she's mastered is a front roll and a "push bridge". Yeah, our hard earned money is buyin' us a front roll and a push bridge in the recital. Oh, and she can heel toe it too. That's Mama's girl. But she's pretty darn cute in her costume, I must say. It's worth it all just to see her up on that stage in neon orange sequins and fringe shakin her tail feather. Too cute for words.

Well..it is almost 8pm...and I finally made her stop with the cartwheels already. I thought I was gonna be sick. Just from watching her. The worst part was when she asked me to show her one...on the beam. I am not sure what part is more sad...that I thought I could...or that I tried. (I can do them on the floor...but a 4" wide beam is another story).

I am TOO OLD for this shiitake (mushroom).

Well..I had better go study...cuz I have a quiz to take. I wanna finish my nursing degree...actually I HAVE to since DD wants to stay in gymnastics....and BOY is it expensive...and if I hang around here all night it won't be pretty....

Who is John Taylor????!??!??!?!?! OMG my heart stopped! I was soooooo in love with him in my younger days, even wrote short stories with him as the prominent hero in all the lovey-dovey sections!!!

when I asked the babysitter if she knew who Rob Thomas is she replied immediately and enthusiastically “Oh, yes! He is soooooo sexy!!!!” Thank you! Although really we were going to see the opening act, Anna Nalick (amazing singer/songwriter!!), but yes, Rob was good, and yes, very sexy. No Mel, not as sexy as Gary…I’m with you there!

OMG! I too wrote a short story with JT in it. Actually my best friend started it and we would each write a chapter and pass them back and forth between classes. We had Renee as a psyco, and JT and I had twin boys, it was good times and I still have them too! I should type them out sometime, the pencil is starting to fade and I think I'd be crushed if anything ever happened to them. Isn't it amazing how something like that means so much?

About Rob Thomas, he is a really nice guy. I had the chance to meet him before one of his concerts. We actually got to see the sound check. After the concert we hung out with Anna. WHAT A SWEETHEART! She is one of the most goofy-down to earth girls I've ever met. Here's a photo of me and Rob after the sound check.

I am seriously considering making shirts that say Maelstrom on the front, and Is a FASTPASS? on the back for my trip. Although, I better make sure they are flame retardant if we expect to really walk around the park in them.

I'm trying desperately to catch up with this thread! I was away for a couple days and I have PAGES of this thread to read!! (mind you , this isn't a bad thing!) BUT I had to jump in after this reply (hopefully I didn't miss a thousand comments on it already, but I'll take that chance). I was thinking about getting t-shirts made, too. We might be able to do them at cafepress -- they even have a lime green tee!! Does anyone know what font Maelstrom should be in to look "authentic"? I think we could certainly recognize another DIS-er if they were wearning a lime green Maelstrom tee!!

BTW,thanks for keeping the hospital trip report going, Mel. I need to know all the details so I can really freak out your hubby when we meet in May BWAHAHAHAHA!!!
