I am thinking of purchasing some red or black Aspens for my December trip. I am thinking that it might be too chilly for the ones with vent holes?

Ok couldn't resist... so sue me later.. I vote for Melon Mom!

:rotfl2:

Melon Mom. That's good. Hmmm... she wanted an avatar, didn't she, Javamom? ;)

And Javamom, I don't think I've told you, but CONGRATS on the job!

How bout a banana man or two?

They are the harmless variety, after all. :teeth:

Hey everyone, company is gone. Man did they wreck my house. I don't know why it is that no one ever feels bad about messing up my house. Whenever I go over to someones house for dinner I make sure not to leave a mess.

Years ago we had play group that met at my house most of the time. They always left a mess. But whenever someone else hosted we would pick up before we left. No one ever asked, it just happened.

Ok, I am done being negative forever (I am such a bad liar). But I swear I am not making anymore political statements on here. They always get me in trouble. If you see me Bush bashing slap my hand.

I'm so glad today is over with. I'd gladly sit for the bar exam three more times than have another day like this. Again, thank you to all of my Maelstrom Friends for your prayers. For all of my so-called skill with words, I cannot begin to describe how grateful I am for the kind thoughts you've expressed to me in the last few days. My wife and I have been blessed with a good church, a very Godly pastor and really good friends, all of whom have bathed us in prayer. We even have neighbors who are thougtful enough to bring us dinner because they know that is not something we're even thinking about taking care of right now.

But my Maelstrom friends, God bless you! You don't even know me, or my wife, and yet so many of you have prayed for us and shared your love. How can I even begin to thank you? We spent a long day at the hospital. My wife is doing well and we're home now. I know the weeks ahead may be tough for us, but I'm hopeful we've ridden through the worst part.

Once we got home and got settled, I needed to unwind so I sat down to check out what trouble Mel and Lilllygator (I'm not sure if she's a lawyer or a Gator fan but if she's a lawyer, I want her in my firm!) caused today and I actually laughed out loud. Thank you for introducing a smile back onto my face.

Pongoperdigirl: I appreciate that you want to send me a card. I can't describe how it made me feel to know that people I don't really "know" care enough about us to want to do that. Ditto: Mel and Lala. The card is not necessary. Your prayers bless me. I know y'all are thinking about me and my family and I know you're talking to God on our behalf. That's worth much more than a card.

Just make me laugh. We need to laugh again.

Which brings me to Bro. Mark: we covet your prayers. Next time I'm in Georgia, if at all possible, I'll stop by your church for services. You'll know it's me because I'll be the one who responds to your sermon by shouting Maelstrom! instead of Amen.

Zzub....glad you are all home safe and can begin healing....:)

Can I make a confession without being kicked out of this play place.....

Ok...here goes....(deep breaths)......I've never actually....

ridden Maelstrom.....

as many times as I have been to Epcot.....I just have a thing about Trolls.

But I will definitely dress up like a viking red haired goddess if necessary!

I'm not sure if I ever posted on your original TR thread, but I read and loved every word, Mel. Count me among the masses anxiously waiting for your May trip.

Can I be a Maelstromer too? I know the secret password. I had my own Maelstrom experience. I brought my Dad back to WDW after a nearly 20 year hiatus this past fall. He was leafing through a book in a gift shop and said, "Hey, it says there's an E-ticket ride in Norway?" I snorted and told him we'd ride and he could judge for himself. Needless to say, we're all in the same (Viking) boat on that one. I told him about the "Maelstrom... Is a Fastpass?" and he laughed. We're going back in November so we'll be on the lookout for our fellow mates.

About the whole T-Shirt discussion - there's a great subsection of these boards devoted to just that - Creative DISigns - way down the bottom of the boards. I haven't done it yet, but it sounds pretty easy to make your own using iron-on transfers.

Slightly mushy aside - It's stuff like this that make me so happy I stumbled across the DIS one day. I may not post as often as some, but I check in on the boards daily and I truly feel like I'm part of a community. I can't tell you the number of times I reference something I learned or something that happened on the DIS in my normal life. And thanks to some wonderful storytelling and lively discussion, I do feel like I know some of you. So thanks everyone! :goodvibes

OK, so I was telling my best friend all about the DISboard shenanigans of the past couple of days, and her 8 year old daughter looks at me and says wisely, "You are a DBF."

DBF?

Divalicious Brunette Fantasy?
Darling Blue Fannypack?
Dented Banged-up Fiat?
Delicious Brandy-soaked Fruitcake?

No, my fellow Maelstromers...

Disney Board Freak.

Out of the mouths of babes.

Zzub, so glad to hear you guys are home from the hospital. Much love and continued prayers to your wife and to you.

I posted it the link over on the Do You Read the Bible thread, but I'm not sure if anybody saw it.

I so laughed out loud at the DBF!!! Thanks for that. Laughing is so wonderful for the mood. I am a lurker and I have to say I so enjoy all of you Malstromers!

Yeah, well my DH calls me a DBD...Dis Board Dummy, not to be confused with the other name he calls me a DD...Disney Dummy. Whenever I bring up something I've read on the boards I get "This one time, on the Disboards..." from him. Ugh! Occasionally I have to remind him who's idea it was to buy DVC and feed my obsession...HIS! So who's the Disney Dummy now? Huh? Huh?

Zzub... Hugs to you and Mrs. Zzub. May each day be a little brighter for you. When it's time, you'll find peace, until then, remember we are all here for you. :grouphug: (and you have a lifetime of free refills!)

Okay.

Since Lillygator started it, I will have to step up and make a confession too.

This is something that I have been holding back from my Maelstrom friends but I feel at this particular juncture I can keep my secret no longer.

So here goes......

Hold onto your hats, uh, horns, people.....

It's a doozy........

My secret confession is.........................

LIKE MAELSTROM

Shhhhhh, don't tell ZZUB. ;)

Go ahead. Flame away. I can take the heat. I got one of these guys. :firefight

Well since we are all being so honest here and all, I have to say we do enjoy Malestrom  . We like standing in line and talking about what a cool ride it is :cool1: . How we hope we don't get soaked this time ;) . How we wonder if the have improved the saftey on the ride. And about how scary it is when it goes upside down :rotfl2: .

We crack ourselves up. :rotfl:

I just hope we never scare any small children. Besides our own, I mean.

Zzub, thanks for posting and keeping us updated. We really do care. :grouphug:

This one is what really cracked me up. Baby Got Book. How funny is that?

Thanks for posting, Litebrite.

Just got one question though...Is that Mark Maelstromer rappin? :rotfl:

what is up?? It is under 60 here in SARASOTA in MARCH....on spring break!!! UUUgggghhhhh - I was hoping to hobble my new knee'ed Charming to the beach tomorrow!!

I rap - I do whatever it takes to put a little Jesus in folk!

But Mel, have you paid attention - and zzub too for that matter. Hee hee hee! There are people who like Maelstrom.

Maelstrom fans unite!

Though I will admit, I don't remember that anyone has actually liked El Rio Del Tiempo. No, it's not cool compared to like Rock n' Roller Coaster, but it is cool nonetheless!

Can you tell that my wife is out of town and I don't sleep well when she's not here?

I miss her!

I know I'm a sap!

Blessings!
Mark

hey Mark, tell us about this
03/2005 - Boardwalk Inn - Disney Institute Training

But I will have to read it tomorrow... I got to get some sleep. I bet I'll miss 8 pages at least. I need to figure out how to save my place.

My name is Mark and I can not lie. You other brothers can't deny.
That a little bitty gnome tied together with two more and a big ol' bear.

With white up in his hair.

Can make a real cool ride.

Even if the Mel don't like,

I don't really care if the dump shop fare means I have to pay like a million rays to keep my family foced (that's short for foused - let's face it I am a white boy who can't jump) on the the goal of being all stoked.

'Bout going to Disney with the hope of winning at the game of life and getting finally meet the prince, who will once day get the...

Well doggone it I have run out of rhymes. So I am finally going to try and go to sleep and be able to function tomorrow. Got a wedding tomorrow night after all. Furnerl yesterday and a wedding tomorrow. You know, even in the midst of death...God is still amazingly good!

Blessings everyone!
Mark
