The Maelstromers... a FASTPASS!

Mel, can I hijack your thread for a moment?

I just went over to the TR board to read the thread started by lillygator (BTW, thanks! :goodvibes ). I literally have a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes. I had no idea how many people are affected by what I write and are willing to go to bat for me. I'm shocked and flattered by the outpouring of support over this.

I had wanted to send everyone on that thread a PM thanking them for their kind words and support, now and over the last few months, but I don't have time right this moment. So, Mel, I'd like to use this thread as a forum to thank everyone for the kinds words and support. Y'all have NO idea what it means to me, especially after the week I've had (oh, and that's a story for another day!).

I want you all to know I will finish the report, always planned on finishing the report, and would never have left anyone hanging. As you know, I teach all day, grade papers at night, go to a Methods class once a week which I have 4 papers a week to write for, and have been remodeling a bathroom and kitchen. Oh, and I have mrvettechick99 to baby. But please know that you all are just as important to me and that is why I have most of my next installment written.

Unfortunately, I have to run right now. My best friend just had her baby (3 weeks early, but they are both doing great!), and we are heading out of town to visit the precious little girl named Bo.

Have a great weekend everyone. Maybe they'll open the thread on the CB and I can continue it there.

And remember, YOU ALL ROCK!

P/S Does the view count still go up on closed threads? I was so close to 100,000 views!!

P/S/S Squeak, squeak!!

Vettechick! Hello.

This is no longer MY thread. It's for all those Maelstromers out there. That's why I renamed it. And wrote us a theme song. The song is a little rough. In parts... but it's ours, nonetheless. This is YOUR thread too! You're a Maelstromer, too. An original. Can't hijack your own thread, then. Can you?!

I just want to say that there's a very good reason you received so much support. You're LOVED here. So are your reports. Keep writin'. Or else we'll sick something scary at you.

Like this: :hmghost:

or this: :crowded:

Squeak squeak!!!!! Mel.

You deserve it!

I found your trip report shortly before it got locked and sent many snippets to my fiance who loved them as well. See, I always try to "Drink Around The World" at EPCOT...but I'm a lightweight who's never made it past Japan.

You're a freakin' inspiration!! :sunny:

Dang, I was out of the loop one day and BAM! all this drama.

I am officially seeking admission, I promise I know the password! (And I have the goofiest picture proving that I have worn the horns - but I have to upload it from home later!)

Mel- Just want to send out big thanks for the trip report - I only ever lurked, but that was one fine read!

Ally- Just remember that I live close enough to hunt you down if you DON'T finish and I have the resources & connections to cover my tracks, if ya know what I mean!

Mark- I'm going to have to try to make it to one of your sermons - do you promise to work in "Maelstrom" if I come? And I have a little princess that is just the right age for your little prince to dance with - but that is it. She is otherwise not allowed to think about boys until she's thirty.

Zzub - You are very much in my thoughts and prayers, I had missed your epilogue until I discovered all this drama today. Your ordeal is much more REAL to all of us, I'm sure, than whatever petty things are happening on the TR board. :grouphug:

Maelstrom . . .is a fastpass?!

Amy

Just wanted to jump on board and tell you how much I enjoy this thread, as well as all your trip reports.
And many prayers for the Zzubs.

So I figure you're close - but how close? Would love to have a fellow Diser in the church? Are you in Macon? If you wanna know how to get to the church just let me know!

Blessings!
Mark

Let's just say for arguments sake that I wanted to look at a pair of the :worship:almighty crocs in the flesh if you will, where would I go? Target, Sears, that fancy pants shoe store at the mall? Are there imitations crocs out there that I should be wary of?

Please note, I am not sayin' anything about purchasing them, just curiuos where I would go to fill a quiver or two with crocs, you know if I wanted to, not that I am. :scratchin

Mel!!!! Your back, how the little crackhead? I was wondering how you guys made out.

No, WARNER ROBINS close! I know you're at a Methodist Church, but which one? I can tear myself away from Baptist for a week! (Oh, hush, you Yankees, it's the same as the difference between grits and cheese grits!)

We've got several Warner Robins folks in our church! I'm at Wesley UMC on Hartley Bridge Road. We're only about 1/2 mile from the Interstate. Let me know when you're coming and I'll try to work in Maelstrom!

Blessings!
Mark

Yeah give us more Mel, we want to know.

Friday is Jello Shot day, isn't it? or a Coke. I agree, nothing wrong with that.

I have frickin' company over tonight so NO Dis for you! (me). Plus I have to make three dinners tonight, 'cause I am super stupid, that's why. One for a sick friend and family. One for my frickin' company. One for my son who is allergic to the one I am making for frickin' company. Let's just cross our fingers the other three kids will eat one of the three I am already making. (Cheeseburger casarole w/potatos and corn on the cob, Masuman Curry with dal and rice, grilled hot dog with potatos and corn on the cob (so I am not that stupid, at least the side dishes do double duty)

I just want to say ~

Javamom (Coffee/software lady): I'm going to bump your Pre-trip report for you whenever I can think of it. I'm going to love your Trip Report, too. And... yeah! Yeah! For your new good news!!!! Maybe you can help us out with the Maelstrom! design? For our shirts. We DO need shirts.

Pumba: I'm so sorry. You have my prayers, too. All of ours.

TLinden16 and The Preacherman: Soooo... you BOTH LOVE Maelstrom! Hummm. Disturbing. But, that's ok. We are not here to pass judgement. I think. Heh, heh. You two get to wear sweaters. Not t-shirts. Big fluffy wooly sweaters from the dumpshop. All year round. In Florida. Viking punishment.

About ZZUB: I want to send ZZUB a card, too. But we have no idea how to. The best we can do is include him and his family in our prayers and thoughts. He'll know. Somehow. Probably by reading this thread. I think.

Ok... I'm gonna write that thingie now. That I've been promising. Back soon.

Please don't buy the fake ones from walmart...they both "broke" the first day my oldest wore them. The Payless ones seem to be the best frocs but I would get them from the fancy shmancy dept store or the sporting goods store.

I also have to say that I absolutely positively love my crocs--even if they are the ugliest things I ever put on my feet. I walked 82 miles in them when I went to Disney World in December without a blister! Now I won't go to Disney without them.

Also, as an olive branch of peace, I'm going to put a link to this thread on my final post on the thread with the final explanation of the decisions. I want to make sure that everyone finds there way over here so we can all have fun over here!

See this isn't so bad over here, is it? :)

Just wanted to add that I'm thinking about ZZUB too, the British Chapter of the Maelstromers sends you our best wishes.

I think you've made it over to the dark side...(dang my smilies don't work at work.....tee hee I guess I don't work at work either if I'm dising it)

You can get Crocs around here at the Hallmark stores. That is the 1st place I ever saw them.

This is going to be so hard to keep up with! But that's what being a Maelstromer is all about.

LaLa -- shouldn't the Big Horns have a question mark? Maelstrom ... is a Fastpass? Even the clever question mark/exclamation combo would be appropriate -- Maelstrom is a Fastpass?!? Very cool work there -- I am very impressed, and only bring up the punctuation because a) I'm a dork that way and b) because I think that's the way ZZub originally expressed that sentiment.

Zzub -- still praying for you and your family. Hang in there.

MommyPoppins -- I hope your procedure went ok. I had a LEEP last year and it was no fun. I think it was mostly the blinkety blankin' doctor's lack of compassion and/or bedside manner, though, so hopefully your doc is better and you're doing fine.

Vettechick -- Happy to see you here! Looking forward to reading that next installment when you get a chance. Oh, and have fun visiting with baby Bo. What a cute name!

Pumba -- prayers for you and your family too. I can't imagine.

MEL!!! -- I don't think I can go there with the tequila and orange, but promise to try it sometime. Soon. It sounds yummy. Pepsi for tonight, gotta stay up late and make a birthday cake somehow look like a dog. For my baby, who's 3 tomorrow! And wants a "dog birthday". o-tay.

TO ALL MAELSTROMERS -- I think the initiation should also include a Shipwreck, and possibly a Mai Tai. Resistance is futile.

PS. My sig looks pretty lame. My photo disappeared. :( It's not any bigger than some others, but it's gone. Then I got depressed that all I had left was a countdown of " bla bla bla days SINCE your fabulous Disney vacation." So I took that off.

Mel,
As Raymonds dad would say 'HOLY CRAP'! :earseek: From the time I went to bed last night until right now there have been 140 posts to this thread!!! It's a good thing I'm off this weekend as this is the place to be! party:

The CB Isle theme song is PERFECT! :boat: I'm looking forward to the many, many pages to come! :thumbsup2

Now where can I get that T-shirt???
