Way to go Techno-Mel...lovin' the new thread title!!

Now...how much longer do we have to wait to hear the rest?? I thought this was a FASTPASS!

First things first. I have a FASTPASS to the doctor's office. With Crackhead.

But, heck!!!! What do I need to finish now for anyway? This thread is about the Maelstromers' adventures now. As a collective. We are BORG. We're having plenty of fun without it. Heh, heh.

It's true.

But... I'll continue when I get back. Love ya, mean it.

That's because they know you know!!

The CB is better anyway. I think I am going to be very happy here. All the cool kids are here (well, except me, I'm the dorky one the cool kids had do their homework!)

Yep, and now everybody who's anybody knows, too. You're right, of course...this is a much cooler place. Club Fastpass!

And you're not a dork...you're a MAELSTROMER!

Here, have a (don't look Mel) bananaman!

I just don't get why they keep posting the guidlines over and over again....we get it, that's not what's in question, at least I don't think so...anyway, as I said before, time to be movin' along...now this thread is a FASTPASS! HA!

Congrats on changing the name, Way to go

Does anyone else here feel the need to mail Zzub a card or is it just me?

ZZUB, your family is in my prayers. May the Lord comfort you all and give you everything you need in these tough times.

and I have to tell you guys a funny story....

Tuesday was Drama Queen's (my sister for those not in the know!) 21st birthday.....we had to go over to Lakeland for the party which was at the Texas Cattle Company....

I am not even sure I should be admitting that I am with this party.....

Well we all arrived and of course she was late...English Super Mom and she show up finally about 1/2 hour late and we are all seated - about 15 of us. I am doing Atkins and am limiting myself to wine, so I order a Reisling, Charming - what else - a Bud, English Super Mom - a margarita ---WHOA!!! This woman hasn't had a drink since they came out with premade bloody mary mix! I am positive one drink would put her under the table! I was a little taken aback but whatever....English Super Grandma - ordered a Coke - no wait they don't have Coke products - a Pepsi, with no ice - true to her heritage....and Drama Queen ordered a Flamin' Blue Texas Rose while in the meantime her boyfriend was getting her 2 for 1 Tie Me to the Bedpost's....The Flamin' thing came out and it was a little shorter than the big mugs in Germany....mugs...not jugs....because if you've seen any of my family pics...you know DQ's got her jugs hanging out too.

She was milking the drinks at first and didn't like the TMTTB ones but drank them....she finally finished the Blue Rose as well....she was getting giggly, the fun part of the Buzz, then she was getting loud, more giggly - and if you seated near our party room I AM SO SORRY!

By this time I was standing holding Haley as she was being fidgety and between me and DQ was a high chair - she loves her big sister and she wants to be as close to me as possible....since I am soooo much fun!! (those are her words but the way - sober ones!)

Then I see it...the look....the glazey eye...then the action....the hand over the mouth....no one else is noticing the birthday girl....I couldn't drop my kid and run her to the bathroom...it wouldn't matter there was no time...it came..........up.......and up............all of that Flamin' Blue Texas Rose.....and the other two....I had on strappy black heels....not a great mix....my feet were sticky.

English Super Mom was pretending not to notice, English Super Grandma was exclaiming loudly how she'd have to die her hair before she could come back here....Charming, my brother, DQ's friends were all trying desperately not to laugh and I am holding Haley trying to get a napkin over her dress - thank goodness she wore her hair up....

Samantha kept wondering why she was spitting on the floor....we told her it was due to the bad steak...- yes this could be considered lying to my child....but do we really know it was the alcohol? I mean the filet could have been bad.....

So we scramble to leave - never had any cake which Samantha is still pretty ticked about - and I take the girls outside and get them buckled....pull a cold one out of the cooler and tailgate til the rest of the family comes out....no just kidding! But she went home and not 20 minutes later is calling me to go out...

she wants to go to PI...I am like no way.....am I ever taking you to any place with alcohol! I said she must be adopted as I have never publicly lost it....in the public restroom, sure, in front of millions, no way.

Now going to Florida I have seen my share and been in involved in many drinking escapades.....never have I seen such velocity, even at the frat houses...I have to give her a 10 for that!

English Super Mom called later to say she was sprawled on the porch passed out....

and she was up the next day at 8:50 to the DMV for a new license......can't wait to see the pic!

:lmao: :lmao:
Why am I not suprised this story is from you lilygator?? hmmmm....????

well all....as much as I'd like to stick around the Maelstrom thread I am getting ready to head up north...from Iowa...sad isn't it?

We are heading to the Mall of America

so while I am gone all weekend ya'll try to behave yourselves...I don't want to see this thread locked when I get back, ya hear?? :teeth:

Crocs are great...
I have a pair of light blue ones (exactly like Mommy's avatar).
Mel, do these look familiar?.....

(and for extra viking points, where am I wearing them? HINT: despite whether or not it's a fastpass, IT'S A FASTPASS as far as I'm concerned)

The PeopleMover....one of my favorites :)
I like those light blue ones...I may buy some now

I lied. I'm back. Couldn't stay away.

Well of course you can. I'd be honored, Miss Mel. Do I need to send it to you in a pm or can you just click and drag it into your siggie line? Where's Dan Murphy when we need him?

Oh, and love the edit on the first post. You rock like Crocs. And Steven Tyler.

I had the exact same thought.

If only we knew his real name. Or even what state he lives in. Or what he looks like. Okay, that's starting to sound stalker-ish. I'll stop.

:wave2: Just thought I'd say hello to all you Maelstromers, and welcome you to the CB. You look like a fun group! :teeth: And I'm really enjoying your trip reports - I hadn't been over there for a while.

Zzub, I'm keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. :grouphug:

FYI, Veronica, who posts as DixieAmos, is NOT a mod! She does have an alter-ego, though. :lmao:

Just found a new cool thing!

When I booked our trip for October (yeah baby!), the travel agent sent me some fun trip planning tools. One of them was the link to a Magic countdown clock. Its a free download, and now all I have to do is glance down at the corner of my screen and see that I have 191:17:00:49:12 before we leave for the House of Mouse.

Maybe it's silly, but I'm SO excited to have the trip booked...the Grand Gatherers (all ten of us) :grouphug: are staying at POR for a whole week and celebrating not one but TWO birthdays while we're there! :cool1:

Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait!!!!!!! :teeth:

For anyone who's interested, the link to the countdown clock is:

Thank you, I for sure am not that skilled of a writer.

I just wanted to say that I love the Maelstrom! I wish it was longer (and you didn't get stuck in the waiting area when the movie is playing).

Thanks for the link. When I get to my home computer I'm going to download it. Sadly, we can't download/install files here at work. What a cool thing though!

I tried my hardest to make it bigger but unless the uber knowledgeable Dan Murphy can help us out, that's as big as these big horns get.

Darn it -- I was always told size doesn't matter. You mean that's not true?? Next you're going to be telling me that IT doesn't happen to everyone, and IT is a big deal!! Well shoot, there goes a lifetime of self-delusion.

those crocs are so cute. Are they comfortable and my feet are wicked wet during the summer when I do not wear socks.
I do wear birks but not in the summer. Summer I wear LL Bean sandals. so any ideas or clues on how to wear those

Come on guys...gotta keep this up up up

Don't make me put a dancin nanner in here.... i'll do it

That's what the holes are for, Pumba - they let air flow through which keeps your feet nice and cool in hot weather. Also, they have some kind of mysterious juju that keeps your feet from stinking when you wear them (I promise I'm not making this up). Must be their "antimicrobial surface". Anyway, you can wear them with or without socks, just as you choose, and to answer your question, YES! They are absolutely the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. :thumbsup2
