Hey Ga Aristocrat....I'm sew jealous that you know how to so!
What a great surprise for your sweet girl! My grandmother used to sew and she would make me little aprons...I still have them and treasure them...probably just like your little one is going to treasure this dress!!!

OK...I got a wild hair and decided to create a calendar for Maelstromers to put their WDW vacation dates on. If you want to include your dates, click on the link below. I think everyone can input data.

The site appears to need a lot of refreshing, so just keep clicking refresh 'til it does what you want it to!

Yes, it'll serve multiple times, too. WDW this fall (Akershus princess breakfast), maybe Halloween. And I have a niece that is @ 18 months behind my daughter, so she'll get to wear it too. Now my problem is that my wonderful daughter has decided that she ALSO needs a Cinderelly dress, and a Belle dress, and an Aurora dress, and a Tinkerbell outfit. And I'll probably make all of them. She will only wear pants to school on gymnastics day, otherwise, she insists on a "pretty dress" every day. Prissy miss thang!

Maelstrom!

Java ~ I will PM you but I would like the black ones. Five. Two adults and three kids sizes, please! Do you have pictures yet?

Da REV!!!! And Mrs. MM ~ I missed you guys! Both! I didn't say anything because I thought perhaps I had offended you. But... then... I got thinking and decided that the only person I've really offended around here is ZZUB. I think. So... how did the swingset go, Rev? How long did it take to put it up? Three or four days? Never mind... I'll probably get a more truthful answer from yer wife. So... Rhonda... how long did it take him to put the swingset up????? Heh, heh.

I also miss Ally and Lillygator. Is Ally back from the beach? Is Lilly back from her Gator's thread?

Where's that MelonMom? I saw...errrrr... HER. Woweeee! She also called me Mel "hotpants" happyhaunt. On her TR thread. Heh, heh. Thanks. I think.

HaleyB ~ I, for one, am reading it. I'm reading it. Big fan. Loved Mr. Silly's.

Pongo ~ Nice dresses. Very.

GeorgiaA ~ Hey "A"! Eh.

SNAP ~ use your edit. That's what it there for.

Loubon ~ Geniusman. A-genius-of-a-man.

La La ~ I cannot tell a lie. I, perhaps, missed a wee bit of Lil'G's marathon post. Possibly. But... at least now I know what "hoobies" are. I think. Maybe. I DO know that he said "Melstorm"... at least once. And I think he tore ZZUB a new one. Again.

PrincessAurora ~ You're back. AGAIN! Stop going away on the weekends. Geez!!!! Today is your thing on TV!!! Isn't it? It is. Isn't it?????????????

Attention All Maelstromers! PrincessA is on TV tonight. The Travel Channel, I believe. Fred Willards American Festivals???? Is that right? What time?

Ok. I hope someone bumps this sucker when I'm gone and try not to miss me too much. I have to go out for a bit. Ohhhhh... and guess what? I've got a new job(ette). Little job. But a LOT of Mel. I'm the uhhhh, ahem!... "mature" model... for a hair product company out of T.O. I'm getting hair extensions a la Lady Godiva for their print ad. But it will only probably be in Salon Magazines... as far I know. But what do I know? It's a darn good thing I hauled the motivational bikini out when I did. See ya all later, Mel.

And... try not to throw up in your own mouths a little bit at the above mental image, ok? Thanks so much.

And everyone needs to hop on over to the photography board and vote in this week's contest - animals at WDW. There are some very talented photographers around here someplace!

So she is a real girly girl...that is too cute! I have two boys so no princess dresses for us on our trips!
SNAP...I wish I could put our trip on there but we don't have one planned! It is killing me. My husband wants to go somewhere different this year...he actually wants to relax & not stand in a line for anything...can you believe it?! He didn't grow up going to Disney like I did so he doesn't quite feel the magic and get a buzz off of it as much as I do....poor thing.

We had a busy weekend. Now I'm like 3 days behind in keeping up with the posts. Lets see...

Friday night I was up almost all night sick. I went to bed feeling kind of weird and I woke up an hour later with the chills and feeling like I was going to pass out. I was also nausious(sp?), I never threw up but boy was it a long night. All day Sat. I didn't feel to great, plus I was super tired. Then on Sunday afternoon Kaleb started running a fever and I started having heavier than before bleeding from my LEEP. So yesterday morning I had Kaleb strapped to me with my sling because he wouldn't let me put him down, then in the afternoon I had a Dr. appointment to check on my "complications". Dr. said everything was healing well, but there were a couple spots that needed some touching up. We went to my Mom's after that for dinner and my bleeding got heavier and heavier. I woke up around 1:30am and it was very heavy, like after you've had a baby heavy and I wasn't feeling really good. My heart was racing, I was dizzy. So we went to the ER and sat and sat and sat. We were finally taken back between 5:00-5:30 and only sat back in the room for 20 minutes or so. I just kept thinking of Mel and poor Tommy. The room was painted with colors and manatees and there was a TV AND playstation. Of course maybe they should have spent a little less money on the entertainment and built more rooms. :confused3 The DR. from the practice I go to, that was on call, came and fixed me up. Of course by then the bleeding had slowed down. But better safe than sorry I guess.

So anyway, I was up ALL night, I slept for a couple hours this morning. My mom has my 2 older boys, DH stayed home from work and we have to take the baby to the Dr. at 2:40 and then get me back to the Dr. at 4:00. I am SOOOOOOOOOOO tired.

$35 co-pay yesterday
$75 ER co-pay
$35 co-pay for today
$15 co-pay for Kaleb
PLUS I'm sure he has another ear infection which means horrible overpriced antibiotics. :sad2:

On the bright side. When I signed online yesterday I saw that the FREE DINING is BACK! Wahoo!!!!!!!!! :cool1: :cool1: So we decided that we would go in Sept. instead of Dec. and then just go for a long weekend in Dec. So we are booked at POR Sept. 14th-24th.

I also started a rice diet. :lmao: I know, it sounds dumb. I'm starving. But hey, I'll do a diet where I can eat carbs. :woohoo: I lost 2 pounds in 1 day, it's water. You can't eat ANY salt on the diet, so you get rid of your excess water....I'll take it. 2lbs is 2 lbs and it sure makes you feel better, even if it's just water and not fat, right? ;)

So I guess tomorrow if I get a chance I'll try and catch up with everyone.

LaLa: Did you decide to go to WDW next week?

Polymelonmom: With the free dining now will you stay at the Poly? :)

Hi everyone,

We have been busy, busy, busy!!! Don't think I have enough time to keep up with this as regularly as some of you!

Mark had another funeral yesterday. Actually, it wasn't a church member. It was the family member of a church member. Yeah. One of those. Never met the person before in his life.

But anyway, here's the scoop on the playground.

My parents arrived Friday about 6:30. We had dinner. Dad and Mark then started sorting screws, nuts, bolts and other assorted hardware. MARK had the bright idea to start at 7am on Saturday. (Who are you, and what have you done with my husband??) We all went to bed around 10, I believe.

Sure enough, at 7am, we were all outside, ready to work. Well, except Wesley. HE was still asleep. Mom and I started raking, because we would need some of that pine-straw-covered area to erect the darn thing. At some point, Wesley got up. He came out to play. I used all my mommy ingenuity to keep him entertained during this process. That mostly involved me traipsing back and forth between the back yard and the house to bring out toys, books, crayons, coloring books, dry erase board, markers, etc. We also got him to help pick up pinecones. For about 3 minutes. Then it was back to the toys, books, etc.

During all this, Mark and Dad got the main frame up. I went in to cook breakfast (bacon, eggs, toast, fruit). We took about a 25 minute breakfast break. At that time, my job became "Sorter of all the remaining pieces". There were about 4,987 pieces. Mom became "Entertainer of Wesley". To tell you the truth, I was glad to swap!!

There were a few minor glitches, but nothing major. You'd have to know my dad... he is not a typical male who won't follow instructions. No, he printed the instructions out online two weeks before they ever bought this thing (in February). After they bought it, and left it in boxes in our shed, he took his printed out instructions back home with him (Mark, after all, had access to the instructions in the boxes), to STUDY in the ensuing weeks. I figured he'd have the thing done lickety-split. But he kept having a hard time deciphering some of the angles, etc that were shown in the instructions, as compared to the actual pieces. At one point, they put the clubhouse frame on wrong (they thought it was a square; it wasn't), and had to redo that. That was the biggest problem, I think. But he was surprisingly gentle and not-as-anal-as-I-was-expecting, especially with Mark. Mom took Wesley up the street to play at the elementary school. They were gone for quite a while. We got a lot done, including a 20 minute lunch break. During the afternoon, I was inside for a while getting dinner going (ribs-Hey, I told y'all I could cook!!). By late in the afternoon, the main part (lower deck, upper deck and clubhouse) was up. Great! That only left the swing set part, the slide, the rock climbing wall, the monkey bars, and all the trim! We knocked off around 7:30pm. So, aside from the eating breaks, about 12 hours.

I'm with GA A. I HATE HATE HATE Daylight Savings Time. HATE it, was that clear? We all went to bed around 10 again. Mark was supposed to be at the church at 7:15 (6:15, really) for Methodist Men. He, umm... didn't quite make it. Decided he needed to sleep more, instead. Dad had already said he was going to skip church, in order to finish the thing. But he'd need help. I volunteered to stay and help. Mark said he didn't think it would look good for the preacher's wife to be out working in the yard on a Sunday morning. I think he meant it didn't look good for the preacher's inlaws to be out working in the yard on a Sunday morning, either, but Dad was convinced he'd have to in order to get it finished. Mom gallantly decided to stay home and help. I'm not certain Dad was pleased. Truth to tell, I (despite what Mark may think) am MUCH more easygoing and pleasant to work with than my mother. Well, actually Mark would probably agree with that. But if you leave off the "than my mother" part... don't know if he'd agree with it. Anyway. See, I'm content (with Dad) to let him read the instructions, and tell me what to do. Mom-Not so much. And remember, we have two sets of instructions: the ones that came in the boxes, and the ones Dad already had. So Mom spent more time looking at the other set of instructions and telling Dad he was reading them wrong than she did doing what Dad told her to do. But despite all that, by the time Wesley and I got home from church, they had up the slide and the rock climbing wall. I should note that they had skipped ahead in the instructions to do those things, so that Wesley would have SOMETHING to play on when he got home. So the good news was that they were on step 84 of 97. The bad news was that they had skipped 69-81.

Well, they were in a groove, Mark wasn't coming home til after they would already be gone (we thought), Wesley had eaten cookies in children's church, so we kept working, instead of stopping for lunch. Because Wesley had the slide and rock climbing wall to play on, he was much easier to handle. I think we got the swing set part put together, then finally had lunch (at 3ish). Black Bean Cream Cheese Chicken, Rice, and salad. That chicken is some gooooood stuff. Let me know if you want the recipe!

Back out, to do the monkey bars, then all the trim. At 7pm, it was finally done. Dad immediately found himself a beer. Then mom got a shower. Then dad got a shower. Then of course they needed to eat before they left... By that time, Mark was home. He was shocked that they were still there. Couldn't believe it had taken us that long to get it all finished. (Dad was right; had they gone to church, it wouldn't have gotten finished.) Colleen came over to play for 5 minutes (Wesley had been begging ALL day for her to come; apparently she'd been doing the same), they went home, we ate dinner, mom and dad packed up, then they left~about 9pm. It's a 2 1/2 hour drive. We went to bed around 10:30, feeling slightly guilty (or at least I did) that we were going to be asleep before they ever got home. But I got over it. 'Cause I HATE that spring forward thing, and I needed some sleep.

I'll have to get Mark to post some pictures later today. I haven't made time to figure out how to do that yet.

*********************************************

GA A~Just found out about the Disney on Ice thing. We're gonna go, too. Which show are you attending? Wesley doesn't know yet, it'll be a surprise for him!

Back to work for Rhonda. How depressing is it that this week, with my boss out of the office, is one of the busiest I've had all year?!? I like to play when she's away! No such luck this time...

Rhonda - I want the recipe. I loooove me some good recipes. We're going to the Saturday at 3 pm show - 2nd row, center ice. I looooove me some princesses (and waiting at the box office was beneficial.) Incidentally, I think we will take the princess to eat at Carrabba's afterward - it's our favorite! :goodvibes

Rhonda, Glad all went well. Our swingset sounds very similar and we actually got it done very quickly. I was shocked it went so well, to say the least. I need to post pics but just haven't made time to figure that out yet.

Welcome back.

Congrats Mel. Good Luck with the "mature" job.

Yes back until Friday when I fly to LA this time (no more driving for a few weeks) and am back Monday morning. WHY do I do this? It is INSANE!

Yes I am on TV today and Saturday! Travel Channel - Fred Willard's American Festivals. On the West Coast they show 4pm and 8pm with a repeat on Saturday at 2pm. It is on the Northern California Renaissance Faire (on of the oldest in the nation and an offshoot of the founding faire, with some of the same people working it). I play Queen Elizabeth so just look for the redhead in the fab purple dress and the scrummy crown!

OK, need to finish my trip report installment for today and clean the house. I have a gentleman caller!!!!!!

Smooches Mel and all the Maelstromers!

mompoppins:

no we are doing POR-AB this time around but we get 8 nights instead of five at the Poly, reduced it from 9 at SOG but get to eat like animals for free all week...so we are still coming out ahead 1000 dollars...I also forgot 9yo is going to be 10yo then so FREE for her is an even bigger savings :)
