Ummmmm.....y'all are losing me with the poetry. I'll return when you're back to talking about toots, poops and pukes.

Actually, I'm getting some junk in the trunk from sitting in this chair so much...I'm outta here to get moving and do the end of school hoopla!!! Have a good day and take care of my kitty while I'm gone.

As PP fell asleep she spoke in Lil Grumpy language mumbling words like Malestomach, Passgass, and come back MEL!!!!

A pure case of "hangover anger"

One last suggestion. Ask if you could pour it yourself next time, or get one cup of each and mix it when you get home.

Sorry you're having a bad day

Hangover anger? Is that an actual medical condition??? Do we have a doctor in this group? We have lawyers,prosecuters,teachers,therapists,technology wizards but NO Doctor??

AND if I have to pour it myself I might as well work there !!! Which I won't do. I need to continue my life of leisure! (okay, that part is only funny to ME) :lmao: :lmao:

Well it's fun for me, Jamal, hooP, Master G, Sheri, Ed and horseyponygirlboy...

The rest of you better put us on "IGNORE". No. WHAT am I sayin'. EVERYONE likes poetry. I think. Except for ZZUBie of course. Sorry ZZUB.

This is mine:

The Land of Story-Books

At evening when the lamp is lit,
Around the fire my parents sit;
They sit at home and talk and sing,
And do not play at anything.

Now, with my little gun, I crawl
All in the dark along the wall,
And follow round the forest track
Away behind the sofa back.

There, in the night, where none can spy,
All in my hunter's camp I lie,
And play at books that I have read
Till it is time to go to bed.

These are the hills, these are the woods,
These are my starry solitudes;
And there the river by whose brink
The roaring lions come to drink.

I see the others far away,
As if in fire-lit camp they lay,
And I, like to an Indian scout,
Around their party prowled about.

So, when my nurse comes in for me,
Home I return across the sea,
And go to bed with backward looks
At my dear land of Story-books.

R.L. Stevenson

Disclaimer: This was written when it was ok to play with guns. Doesn't matter though. To me. I let my kids play with guns. Anyhow. That's a good one. I like it. A lot.

Well as long as you are all doing this. Here is one of my favs.....I'm not a boy Sher. But this one is for you. :teeth:

I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree,
And a small cabin build there, of clay and wattles made;
Nine bean rows will I have there, a hive for the honey bee,
And live alone in the bee-loud glade.

And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow,
Dropping from the veils of the morning to where the cricket sings;
There midnight's all aglimmer, and noon a purple glow,
And evening full of the linnet's wings.

I will arise and go now, for always night and day I hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore;
While I stand on the roadway, or on the pavements grey,
I hear it in the deep heart's core.
Yeats? Yeats??

MEL!!!

I take very good care of my kitty.

In fact she's off playing with Horsey's dog today.

cute frick. but it wasn't really a dog or a cat. it was a guinea pig with a long tail. an anomaly, really.....

A maiden at college, Miss Breeze,
Weighed down by B.A.s and Lit. D.'s,
Collapsed from the strain,
Said her doctor, "It's plain
You are killing yourself by degrees."

How bout a little Edgar Allen Poe to cheer ya up......

It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of Annabel Lee;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.

I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea;
But we loved with a love that was more than love-
I and my Annabel Lee;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
Coveted her and me.
And this was the reason that, long ago,
In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
My beautiful Annabel Lee;
So that her highborn kinsman came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulcher
In this kingdom by the sea.
The angels, not half so happy in heaven,
Went envying her and me
Yes! that was the reason
(as all men know, In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.

But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we
Of many far wiser than we
And neither the angels in heaven above,
Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee.
For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise but I feel the bright eyes
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling, my darling, my life and my bride,
In the sepulcher there by the sea,
In her tomb by the sounding sea.

Or perhaps an original composition.

With apologies to anyone with talent.

There once was a Diser named Mel
Who's TR was locked like a jail
She vowed that she'd go
We hated it so
Her offense no one can quite tell

Wow I get put on ignore for Oscar Wilde but the BEP's go sailing thru.

Well I got something for you:

Sorry this has been

I agree, LaLa. I always liked this, too. It's sad... but not nearly so disturbing as Poe's other stuff! His stuff is interesting... but still disturbing. I read (that's past tense) a lot of Poe. I was an English major. (Lit, with a little grammar thrown in.)

Y'all are scaring me with all the lit stuff. Were some of you those weird-o people in my lit classes?? Teacher's pets, all of you!!

Okay, can I introduce a new topic? Who's read The DaVinci Code? Fine literature, it is not... but a page turner, nonetheless! Just curious.

Aww, La, so sweet, that reminds me of Poop

And speaking of poop:

There once was a young man who...
laid an extraordinary long poo.
He let out a scream!
Can this be a dream?
That'll never flush down the loo

And in response to Master G

So the limerick’s not quite a saint,
And it’s often so rude that grans faint.
Yes, at times it acts pure,
Or pretends it’s demure,
But don’t fall for this act, for it ain’t.

I don't know why, but I was always drawn to EAP. Maybe because some of it was just so ...creepy dee? But Annabel Lee, that's beautiful stuff. Sad but beautiful. It's like a prehistoric chick flick on paper.

I haven't read the DaVinci Code, so can't join in the discussion on that one. But I did read People magazine the other day. And from what I hear, Richie's been messin around with Denise behind my back.

As IF I even look anything REMOTELY like Heather Locklear. But thanks anyway PMM. LY/MI

YES. An original composition. Now we are getting down to business. There is no poem like the poem that comes from the heart:

"Well, that's a real fine place to start"
"It's from me it's for you"
"It's from you, it's for me"
"It's a worldwide symphony"

Oh NO.

One of my favourite rants. I'll try to resist... except to say: I REFUSE to read it. Absolutely REFUSE. It's like a law, now, or something. That everyone shall read the Da Vinci Code. There has been some pressure applied to me... from family and friends. I even... GASP... picked it up once and started it. Read a bit. And then hated myself for it. So... I don't know if it is, indeed, good or bad. But...

I'll say it here: I will NOT read it.

Now... I will sit back and wait for this thread to be locked. And the black helicopters to start circling my house.

Is it just me? Or is anyone out there feeling the same?

We could get together and start a secret society. Or somethin'. Heh, heh.

Last edited by LaLa : Today at 11:24 AM. Reason: OMG Sher. The Poo in the Loo was hilarious. Move over Hoop. We got a hot one tonight! Taylor is so gonna win tonight.
