Hey Stromers!! It's my BIRTHDAY!! :woohoo: Y'all can all get real busy making me some birthday wishes now...k?!?! Juuuussstt kidding.

I got a great birthday present....a house!!! Yeah!!! For those of you who don't know (which would probably be all of you), we sold our house, we've had intentions of building and we bought the perfect lot 3 weeks ago, I've been in a rental house for 3 months (our first rental was awesome, but it sold after we were there 3 weeks - so we had to scramble and find another quickly so we are in a sort of creepy-dee hood), my fridge is in the freaking garage because it will not fit through the doors....and a couple of weeks ago we found the perfect house for us - so we sealed the deal last night after almost 2 weeks of negotiations! I get to move in 3 weeks! :Pinkbounc

Chappie...I bet the pancakes are cold by now aren't they? The weather is killing me today...I'm supposed to play golf!!
Frickles!! I thought your birthday was on the 15th?? Apparently I need yet another Inoculatte this am.

Anyway, :bday: and :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: on the house!

Happy Birthday Christy!

Well. Today is a day I have been dreading all week. It's soccer day.
soccer.gif

All three of my kids play (2 teams). Today we have a game at noon and a game at 2pm. That gives me an hour to kill in between. I HATE when they aren't back to back. An hour isn't enough time to go anywhere from the soccer field and be back in time for the next game.

Plus, whichever kid isn't playing (oldest DD is on her own team while the younger two are on the same team) drive me crazy. "Mom, we're bored." I HATE hearing that.

Plus, I somehow got roped into helping out today since the coach and his family are in DISNEY WORLD!!

So, I may miss the waxin' ....but make sure y'all take some pictures...Good luck Master Gracie... ;)

You all are too sweet! I love the b-day wishes! Lou!!! You remembered my name... :thumbsup2 35 isn't sucking too bad after all. (well, if you don't count how long it took me to get over my hangover yesterday - I think that is an age thing because I used to snap right back)

GaCat's birthday is on the 15th!!!

hi guys

bachelorette party sucked...the bridesmaids got ripped and got into a fight and I missed it all because I was held up in the hotel room with an eye infection...ahhh sooo many stories so little time

I was really impressed with zzubs post the other day. It made me think a lot about my own postings and I agree whole heartedly with his POV...I don't know if I would want him as my lawyer, he seems to honest... ;)
and upstanding, not the least bit crooked or shady...
too bad he can't run for president then either...darnit.

OK another big day today so I gotta go

maelstrom

It is not, in fact, raining in Choo Choo land, but it is threatening mightily.

Melons - Take your time. My TR isn't going anywhere and I won't be posting another until after September, so you won't be behind.

Ok, I need to call upon the considerable resources of the 'Strommers.

As I posted a few pages ago, (maybe more taking into account the considerable speed with which this thread grows) our private return trip in September has now grown to include the entire crew again.

The day of our arrival (if we don't decide to come a day earlier) is Spiderman's birthday. His mother wants to know where we can pick up a cake for him. We'll definitely get him a birthday button, but we are open to any other suggestions of activities of a birthdayish nature.

Thanks in advance.

Hey, what's up Maelstromers...

Hey, DD had her dance recital yesterday and I just wanted to give yall a little peak at one of the better performances.

http://www.ebaumsworld.com/videos/miraclejackson.html

Okay, okay, so that wasn't from her recital. But it was pretty funny. Really, their ballet was CINDERELLA. She was one of Cinderella's white horses. Very, very cute.

So ZZUB, you didn't like Mini Michael? What's up with that? You were just scared of his moves, weren't you? A little intimidated perhaps? You wish you could moonwalk like that don't ya? Cause he had it goin' on like a chicken bone. Admit it. :lmao: But thanks for backtracking. You're still da Man.

2infinityandbeyond: I gotta say I'm a little bit disappointed in you. Barf bags are sooooo last year. Everyone knows you need a FANNY PACK when the need to yack arises. Or a keyboard. Or a desk drawer. But not a barf bag. Geez. ;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FRICKLES!!!!!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

May you always be as fine as you were in '89.

PMM, sorry you missed all the action. Glad you're back. (((((slap)))))))))

Chappie: ((((((((((((((slurp))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Horsey, Grammy, TinkinaDrink, Sheridac: ((((((((((slappityslapslap))))))))))))))))

PASLEAPOOH: Yep, I read both threads. Post occasionally too when I can, but the more I read about the spoilers, the more I think it's better not to know. There's a site called spoilerfix.com and they have great spoilers for lots of different shows. I got hooked on that and some other ones like oceanicflight815.com a while back and it's a lot of fun to read other people's theories, but when it comes to spoilers, I think I am gonna have to cut back. It's just better when you have no idea what's coming up. Like the season finale last year. It came from out of nowhere for me and I was hooked. That's how I wanna be again, ya know? Anyway, they showed Eko falling off a cliff in the preview for next week. If Eko goes, I will be highly upset because I love his character. And did ya hear when Henry told Locke he was coming for him when he got caught in the trap? Cause he was one of the 'Good Ones'. What's up with that? I could go on and on.....

Lou: LOVED the frog picture. Too cute.

Master Gracie: BOO! Gotcha.

Afternoon Maelstromers!

I'm sorry to hear about the rain in the south. DS's party is indoors today so he'll enjoy it despite the weather. Sunny but cool here today.

I really had a nice time chatting again last night! And because of that I slept in until 10:30am this morning!! When DH is away, I get to sleep and lord knows I need the beauty rest!

Sista Frickles:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Also: CONGRATULATIONS ON THE HOUSE

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Don't get me started on buying/selling houses in Georgia  I'm glad everything worked out fantastic for you!

Haley - I finished reading your Disney TR last night. Excellent read. Looking forward to the rest. I'll get to the Seaworld one today.

Master and Lala - Printed off your's as well. Will read it tonight :Pinkbounc

Poop - 3 hours would be way too much for car shopping! I hate it too. I have a FIL the business so we just go there and he sets us up with the best price at employee rates! Limited to GM products which is fine!

2infinity - The life of a Soccer Mom isn't fun sometimes! We start soccer next week and I'm still sitting at the ice rink for 2 hours 4X per week for DD's figure skating- whew!

To all the other Vikings - Have a good one.......is a fastpass?

I am trying to get these written in a timely mannor, unlike my Oct WDW TR...

Part three

The Sillies go to Sea World, the San Antonio Zoo, and the Methodist Hospital E.R., not exactly in that order.

The next few minutes seemed like hours. I had no idea what to do, so of course I yelled at him. He was unconscious at first and then he started to come out of it, very disoriented. Maybe I didn’t yell, but I at least raised my voice a little.

That is what everyone does when someone is non responsive, I work at a school with an auditory impairment program and I have seen it many times. People even yell with sign language. I can yell “stop” in sign like a pro. The kids are yelling too, and starting to panic. At this point about two minutes have passed. I collect my wits enough to realize that the kids need to get out of the car because watching this happen is horrifying for me, and must be worse for them. So I tell them to go stand on the sidewalk against the retaining wall, so that they are within my line of sight but away from their dad. They do as they are told, and I am once again aware of how good they really are. I can now hear the ambulance, but I can’t see it yet. , Finally the ambulance arrives, followed about five minutes later by a “first response” team (boy do I feel safer now).

So the Medic guy comes over and I tell him what happened. He looks Mr. Silly over (who was unconscious until a minute before they got there). He is still more than a little disoriented. They ask him his name. He mostly gets it out. They ask him who I am, and he gets that right. They ask him how old he is and he says "25" and I crack up. Laughing.

I get a really funny look from the medic style guy when I bust out laughing. Look, I am a well schooled in finding the humor in things, I read Delswife. And it was pretty funny. One of the medic guys is worried because his pupils are still a little non responsive to light. I can tell because the other medic guy sends him away. I am a little too familiar with brain insults for my own good, and I am a little worried too. I would have been a lot more worried if he didn’t know his name or who I was. Still some pretty dark thoughts are running through my mind. I do my best to keep those at bay, I know I will have an answer soon.

Mr. Silly is worried too. He is worried about his hat. His dark blue classic Mickey baseball cap with no flag or other distracting extras in the background. Just a plain blue cap with Mickey in his classic pose. It took us two years and three or four Disney trips to find that hat. He first got one like it on our epic 20 day WDW trip in May of 2004. But he committed a theme park sin and wore it into a non-Disney park. Plus he mocked the theme park gods by joking about it on the way in. Lost it on the log ride about an hour into the day.

Being well aware of the importance of the Mickey hat I have already secured it. Mickey hat will ride with me. They help him onto a stretcher and take him to the ambulance. Then they ask me where I want them to take him. Hello, dude, I just told you we don’t live in San Antonio. I do not even know the names of any of the hospitals here. So why are you asking me? I assume they are not allowed to tell me which one to go to. He names three or four and I stare blankly back at him. He waits. Great, we are playing chicken. He breaks first, I had the upper hand since I really had no idea what to tell him, and he says how about the Southern Methodist Hospital. Excellent, fine, where is it?? So he says to follow him but if I lose him it is just off of some street and turn some way at some street blah blah blah. I stopped listening at the just follow part. I can do that. If I lose them I will have to ask for directions, I guess.

I don’t lose then. I curse whoever it is that didn’t put any parking near the E.R. entrance, but at least I found the place. There must have been six turns on the way there. I never would have found it myself. So I search the car for anything useful. Books, crayons, Happy Meal toys, anything for Max and Sophia to play with in the waiting room. I have been to E.R.s before and I am pretty sure we are looking at several hours at least. I also do one more cell phone check, maybe it slid under the seat? No. Darn. I have a second cousin in San Antonio, but I do not know their phone number and have no way to contact them. Oh well.

We go in, I settle Max and Sophia in a corner near the TV which is tuned to CNN so they were probably further traumatized, we don’t watch the news anymore it has become way to graphic for my taste, so we read our news online. I am sure there was a car bomb in Iraq or a road side bomb, or some sort of gruesome destruction and loss of life being reported on. As soon as I sit them down, instruct them to talk to no one, and tell them to stay in their chairs, please, I go back to check on Steve. They have him in a room and a Doctor is looking at the Medic’s notes. He asks me again if it was one long seizure or if I am sure it was two in a row. Geesh, these people are fixated on that. Yes, it was two full cycles with a period of a minute or two between them.

For the next four hours Max and Sophia get to sit in chairs in the waiting room of the Methodist Hospital’s E.R. and people watch. I get to run back and forth between the room Mr. Silly is in and the waiting room. There were no men in orange jump suits, but there were a couple of freaky people. You know, bleeding guy, moaning woman, talk talk talking to herself lady. Big fun. Way better than the new Shamu show. Plus I got them crayons and paper in the gift shop. They made paper airplanes and befriend a sweet little girl who is also stuck in the E.R. waiting room.

Every time I check on Mr. Silly the nurse updates me on what new drug they have mainlined into his blood stream. Holy crap did they load him up. Apparently it is not good to have a seizure but it really freaks doctors out if you have two long ones in a row. They gave him two anti seizure drugs. He had a reaction to one so they gave him three more things for that, topping him off with IV Benadryol (sp?). And every time I walk in the room Mr. Silly asks where his hat is. Three or four times. Because he has no short term memory yet. Apparently seizures can mess with your short term memory, and so can the drugs they treat seizures with. I had a little fun with that. Use your imagination.

So I bet you are wondering what we did after our ER visit. Right? Well they released Mr. Silly at about 6pm that same night. And I have very poor night vision. So we decided to go back to the hotel and sleep. I slept like a baby, I woke up every two hours. To check that everyone was ok. Mostly Mr. Silly, but Sophia and Max too. They all were fine. Every time I checked.

The next morning all Mr. Silly wants to do is sleep. But he wants me to take the kids to Sea World...

End part 3, next up the rest of the trip...

Thanks Sheridac.

Not sure if I'm going to order a cake for DS and DH in July, but this will come in real handy if we do!

Thanks! :wave2:
Don't you all find it odd that I, of all people, knew right where to locate this compilation of delectable desserts?

Haley,

Since I have a healthcare background, I can totally empathize with this installment. This also reminds me that I haven't heard any update re: Mr. Silly recently.

Hi, so as not to leave you all hanging too much.. All Mr. Silly's test have come back now and they all show nothing. Which is good, except it means we get to spend the rest of our lives wondering when/if it will ever happen again. They have, thankfully taken him off the Dilanton and put him on some other drug that he likes better. He wants to go off that too at some point. I am not excited by that idea... but we are at the no news is good news stage in the game. The Neorologist wants to see him monthly for now... and they may need to repeat his MRI at some point.

Ok, th e y a r e d ra g g i n g me a w a y f r om my c o m p u t e r n ow ....
