The Maelstromers... a FASTPASS! Part 2

Ok, people, because I felt so left out I watched Grey's for the first time ever last night. Thank you for encouraging me to jump in b/c I think I will be hooked. Our newspaper had a character guide for Grey's yesterday so that helped. I'll be honest: I never wanted to watch b/c I couldn't stomach Sandra Oh in "Sideways." I still don't like her but her character here is so different I think I can make it...

Anyway, as I sat down to watch DH walked in--

DH: What are you watching?
Me: Grey's Anatomy. Season Finale.
DH: Have you ever watched it?
Me: No, but I hear it's good so I'm going to find out.
DH: Well...now? At the end of the season?
Me: Um, yes. Doesn't that make perfect sense?
DH: I think I'll go add more memory to the computer...
Me: Thanks hon.

Anyway, I liked it and can see why you all were in tears. One more season and I might cry like I do at Wishes.

Morning all,

Just a quick hit to say hi! :wave2:

In the middle of a big project and need to work on that. (besides the internet nazis are at it again).

I will have quite a bit of catching up to do I see.

BTW... SNAP LOVED YOUR TR! Just finished it this morning. Can't wait for the real thing this Fall.

As if I have nothing better to do, I am going to address my screen name.

There is so much to say and so little time to explain. When I first came to these boards, I just wanted to remain anonymous and to get a little information. I chose a screen name and was in after lurking for a loonnngg time.

My DH cannot believe my screen name isn’t “Still Cute”. I say that to myself at least 10 times a day. Every time I pass a mirror and sometimes in the reflection of my sunglasses. I even have 2 hats and a shirt that says “Still Cute”.

I met the most wonderful group of people here, my friends from band camp, the Maelstromers. You guys have been a saving grace to me more times than I can ever tell you.

No, I am not really old, but I am very gray right now. And I will be remaining gray because my hair will no longer accept the color that has been so graciously offered to it.

As in all aspects of life, things happen at inopportune times. Becoming a Grammy for the 1st time, was an unexpected twist in life. It was a very dark period for many reasons. But on Feb. 8, 2001 at 5:06 PM I witnessed the birth of the most precious life saving gift a woman could ever receive, my Hayley. She saved my life in ways I can never express and you could never understand (till you purchase and read my book, coming to a bookstore near you) haha

This was repeated again on March 8th, 2003 at 8:16 PM. The birth of Levi, who arrived 13 weeks early, was so different than the 1st time, but in many ways, even more life changing. That night was probably one of the most surreal moments I will ever experience. The weeks that followed, with numerous ups and downs, and much praying made me a better person.

So, the moral of this story is – I am proud to be Grammy. There is no sweeter music than a little voice that says “I love you, Grammy”. My wish is that each of you get to experience the same euphoria that I do every time I see their faces or hear their voice.

As my grandchildren say “Granddad is great he made us chocolate cake. Grammy is great, Yeah God” I didn’t teach them that but I sure love to hear it.

So Grammyof2 I will remain, although someone is working on making me Grammyof3.

Sappy moment over. You guys can call me anything you want, just not late to dinner, cause I love you guys, and I skip and cry alot.

Totally OT but I bought this for my best friend:

and a totally righteous button, it's killer.

I don't want Mer and Der together either. I was rooting for him and Addison. I thought they were really working hard at putting it together.

I do think Callie is pretty. She is just a tad psychotic. When she was walking in the hallway with George and she said something about Meredith and Doc and George responded "Well she really loves her dog". Callie when ballistic.... "Why are you always defending Meredith..blah,blah,blah..... crazy **** look in her eye.

That girl is gonna go postal on George next season. I'm calling it right now!

Grammy....I love that you are mushy and sappy and skip and cry alot! Those are some of the best qualities in a human!!

OK - Grammy, in response to Ash's possible screen name. Spicegirl is too reminiscent of the AWFUL 90's group. See below for a reminder.

YIKES, i'm a SpiceGirls fan!!!! haha i bought the CD and everything.......recently :)

In other news, and along the Mother's Day thoughts, my daughter made a card for me in school that was a "mad libs" of sorts. They were supposed to fill in the sentences.

I am 36 years old and I weigh 73 pounds. I'll take that - I'm sure some kids erred on the other side of that. What I don't understand is why that question needed to be asked.

I got one too:

My Special Mother
My mother is the most wonderful mother in the whole world.
She's as pretty as a flower.
She wieghs 1 lb and she's 10 feet tall.
In the good old days when my mom was little, she used to play with toys. I think Mom looks funny when she makes a silly face.
I wouldn't trade my mom for a baby cat.

S-T, sooooo cute! I miss those days.

Grammy, I hope you know that the only reason I addressed your name was because of your edit a ways back. I love your name, and, as I said, I'll never think of you as anything else! You are so obviously in love with your little grandkids, and why wouldn't you be?! Your name's great, and we're happy with it as long as you are.....although I do love "Still Cute", too!

Kim, I forgot to comment in my last post, but, poor baby!! :sad1: I hope Piper feels better soon. And you're right, they probably wouldn't do anything about it anyway, but it might be a good idea to get an x-ray just so you know....

Can I just say, I've been especially struck lately by the fact that the Maelstromers are such wonderful, kind, warm and fuzzy people (who are also hysterically funny). I'm proud to be a part of this great group, and can't wait to meet lots of you in October! It will be a jumping up and down, skipping, hugging, fastpass kinda trip.....I can just feel it!! :goodvibes
