Hey Bonnie or Tootie

I have a question for you. I have a friend who's son is in first grade and she is concerned about how he is "getting" things. She emailed the teacher and asked if she could provide weekly updates on what the class is working on so that she can assist at home in working on the same things as in class. The teacher came back and said that interim reports and report cards are sent home every 4 weeks and that IS her education report.

Was my friend right in asking for this information? Or is it too much to expect from the teacher due to the amount of kids in the class room?
You didn't ask me, but I'll answer anyway. Bonnie and I both send class newsletters every week to keep parents informed. It's not too much to ask.

I saw that one, RB.............it's funny!

Dh is making me :furious: over this kilt. He has the cloth spread out all down the hall and his pins and chalk, and he is snapping at everyone who comes near.................
Hmm.....I might have to help him out with the placement of the pins.....if he was my DH.....just sayin...... :rolleyes1 ;)

Sorry Paige~forgot you were a teacher too.

Thanks, my friend said she was pretty defensive and was just wondering if she was expecting too much.

:teeth: We want you here! That is why I went straight to him being a human pincushion.... :rotfl:

I'm back.....

Pip, the teacher should keep the parents posted on what they are learning in class. That's where the newsletters come in. I've noticed that upper grades do not tell you ANYTHING!! Asking for a weekly report on what the child's academic progress is IS asking too much, in my opinion. As long as she sends graded papers home and sends out regular progress reports, that should be enough for the parents.

Thanks Bonnie and Paige. I'll let the mom know..

Well, I guess I better go shower.....Have to take DD to a party and then her game. She would be a little embarassed if I went with bed head.... :teeth:
