Yikes, Mary!! Sounds like a really tough situation. Let us know how the meeting with your parents goes. I highly doubt they will tell you they don't want you in the family. It does not matter if you were adopted, you've been part of the family all your life. Good luck with everything today. And stay far away from your brother!

DH keeps saying that the decision is mine as to whether I want them around us, after all they did nothing to protect Emily and let me stand up to my brother on my own. All this happened while DH was at camp with the teenagers from our church, so I had to handle all this alone. It has been very hard to handle.

Wow Mary, family stuff is so hard to deal with, especially when you bring money into a situation. Please don't get down, I don't care how you get into a family, remember O'hana. They are not going to kick you out, but you sure have a right to make a decision about how much you want them.

I haven't talked to my brother in 20 years. Does it hurt, yes. Do I survive yes. I didn't want him around my boys and dh. I made that choice. You need to make strong choices sometimes and sometimes they hurt. I know you'll decide what's best for you.
