I NEVER drink except for medicinal purposes , but will take one for the team just for you. I didn't know you were going to be in the hospital! What for? Are you OK? UGH! I hope you are fine!

I rarely drink (maybe once a year), but for some reason knowing that you can't is just mean, mean, mean! I'm not super sick...just need a hyster...getting old...pre-cancer cells...yuck...so I'm getting rid of the little invaders before they become nasty, nasties!

And now a public service announcement for the hybrid Peeps:
OK slackers ...FRIDAY is our real life, no excuses, do it anyway WEIGH DAY. It will be UGLY. There will be gnashing of teeth involved. Just do it. Then on the 9th we'll see what we're made of. WE can do it!! We are soooo skinny!

Me Too!!! I am IN!!! But with all this company I have here in the OC, my diet will start on the 5th!!!!!!!!! AND I am sticking to IT!!!!!!!!!!! DS#1 gets married June 27th....we are now under 6 months! I need motivation, CHATTERS!

I want to see that mini-series now. DD & I were in Williamsburg over the summer and took a carriage ride through the town. The horses that pulled our carriage were the ones in the show. We also saw the carriage that was in the show. Iwasthisclose to almost famous horses.

Ahh..Claudia & Wendy, this is a FABULOUS mini-series. We have been watching an hour every night!!!!!!!!

Before 9:20 tonight (Central Standard Time), DW was (and still is) snoozing and snoring! Yes, we ARE one wild couple! (In her defense, she did get up at 3:00 a.m. this morning and went to work for five hours today with no nap since.)

I'm comforting myself by watching a replay of the 2008 Hooters International Swimsuit Pageant on Fox Sports Midwest.

Actually, I had an invite for the family to a party in the Parkville, MO, area (northwestern KC suburb) and DW said the kids and I could go (and DS13 wanted to go to it) but, as a good friend told me, NYE should be spent with your spouse. So I told DW I didn't want to go to the party, that I wanted to at least be in the same house as her, even if I knew she would be asleep.

Ok, since I was bored, bored, bored tonight, I read back from the last time I did a thorough reading and posting (sometime before Christmas Eve). Fortunately, the only thing I missed was four pages of you all saying Merry Christmas and talking about how bored you were.

I hated House Bunny. Sorry folks! Did not laugh out loud once. DH concurs. He said it could've been saved if there had been some actual nudity. MEN!!!

I think I agree with your DH. I didn't HATE it (wouldn't have walked out on it) but I didn't enjoy it too much. I think I did laugh out loud twice in the first hour of the movie but don't even remember which scenes/lines did that for me.

RED BOX, they look like a vending machine, in my case they are in the entry area at the hyvee grocery stores, though I hear some places they are at McDonald's and stuff like that. Anyway, they have about 100 different movies, mostly new release stuff, and every rental is $1 until 9pm the following day, so you use the little touch screen, find your movie, scan your credit card, and voila, you have a movie rental.

You can also go to redbox.com (like I did tonight) and rent your movies in advance and know they are there waiting for you (thus saving you a drive if you want to see a particular movie).

I want this miniseries too! I LOVED the book it was based on. Loved McCullough's Truman book also!

Hope everyone had a great New Years! I'm going to go out on a limb & say that I had the... wildest night of all of us. Lots of fun, but I paid the price yesterday!

Aside from my hangover, I have/had:

• a trip yesterday to retrieve my purse from a friend's car
• a trip to the dry cleaners
• a head of hair that was mysteriously full of pine needles & leaves when I washed it yesterday morning (sitting down in the shower, as I was still unable to actually stand)
• a bit of road rash where my cheek got intimate with a curb
• quite a few unflattering pictures

I am the new face of bored. My canned goods are alphabetized and placed on the pantry shelves in descending order of size... all lined up like little metal soldiers. (I swear!)

Have you ever been vacuum-the-refrigerator-coils-bored? Clean the wastebaskets bored? Move-your-bed-in-order-to-vacuum-under-it-and-face-the-feral-dust-bunny-colony-bored? I have....

Trust me. That was mooore than enough excitement for one night! And for my poor husband too! At one point, he left me alone in the parking lot to try & flag my MIL down (she was our driver for the evening) and when he came back, all he found was my coat! He was freaking out. From what I'm told (as I have no lucid memories) a couple of guys who worked in the kitchen came out & were afraid I was alone, & moved me to the steps of the country club. Took Ryan a few minutes to find me, and he said all I could tell him was that "some guys were speaking Spanish and carried me to the steps."

I saw this thread on the first page and just had to stop in to say and to Shannon! I would've loved to have been there!

T-Bone! I totally wish you were there too. We were by far the youngest people there, and I was forced to make my own fun. I danced with the band, and the waiter who was of questionable gender. (Supposedly his name is Eric, but I think he feels more "Erica.")

My downfall was the mixing of liquors & wine. I know, I know... Drinking 101, right?
