The Mad Chatters thread Part 18

Kim! I "saw" you on the WL thread the other day; we are staying WL CL at the end of May when we go back on our surprise trip. I am SO excited! We were truly, once we decided on deluxe, split between WL and AKL, they are both SO gorgeous, but this trip being close to MK won out. However, we are tentatively "planning" and land/sea package for 2013, which MAY get moved up to 2012 if I get my way, and I think we are going to stay CL at AKL on the land part of that trip, so I'll get both! When we went in December, we had a family meal at Boma, and we also had the kids at the Simba's cubhouse while we had an anniversary dinner at Jiko, which we adored, and so did the kids.

...you can't go wrong with either WL or AKL CL - they both are really awesome! As you probably already know, the AKL is touted as the 'kid brother' to the WL, since it was designed by the same architects...

Its too cold to do much!

...don't talk to ME about 'cold'...

I didn't know that! But that now makes sense as to why we are specifically drawn to these 2 resorts! My dd12 would ONLY stay at AKL given the choice, but she is CRAZY about animals, plans to be either a zookeeper or a marine biologist/conservationist, intends to "save the endangered species"... apparently all of them to talk to her. She is absolutely the person that AK park and lodge was intended for. My dh is very much the outdoorsman type, loves hunting, fishing, etc so WL is really right up his alley. I think I prefer the decor at AKL, but both feel less formal than the other deluxes, if you know what I mean? Now, Catie, my dd10, wants to stay at YC. I've told her I'll take her there for her high school graduation if she wants, LOL.

.....how fortuitous - I happen to be gradjamacating from high school in about 7 years TOO...:rolleyes1

:lmao:Well, then you should definitely "treat" yourself with a disney trip, of course!

Funny, my sister asked me the other day what we were going to do when the kids "outgrew" wanting to go to Disney. I gave her a blank stare, cause seriously? I don't see that happening ever, which is what both kids said when they heard the statement... but after a pause, I said IF that happens, we'll go without them, of course!

...WHEW! Good thinkin'! You had me worried there, for a sec!

Me? No way! I strongly suspect that we'll be those parents who are joining our grown children and grands for disney vacays.
