HA! You don't KNOW cold! I skipped church yesterday morning, but it was 35 degrees when dh left for church and it was 7! when he got out of church! We had the first basketball games for the girls at 2 and 4, with negative wind chills to get through to get there, then from there we went to the church for the final performance of my play, WHICH you missed... shame shame... As soon as I get the pictures I will post...

Ack!! My BFF is in danger of freezing her tuckus off!!!

And Spam? Like, Gag me with a credit card and take me to the mall! Totally gross out dude.

(Sorry-- channeling a little 1985 Valley girl there.)

Frank Capra's You Can't Take it With You starring Jean Arthur, Lionel Barrymore, and Jimmy Stewart is on this Saturday evening, December 20, on Turner Classic Movies (TCM). This film was the first collaboration between Capra and Stewart.

This romantic comedy won the Oscars for Best Picture and Best Director in 1938 and was nominated for Oscars in Best Supporting Actress (Spring Byington), Best Cinematography, Best Film Editing, Best Sound Recording, and Best Screenplay Writing.

A great film that I have been anxiously waiting to catch again on TV (guess I'm too lazy to drive all the way to Blockbuster Video  ) and so I'm thrilled that it's coming on this weekend. I plan to set my DVR tonight.

There is 5 inches of snow forecast for tomorrow (Tuesday if you're on the east coast right now) so I just got done making sure both vee-hick-uls are topped off with window washer de-icer fluid and brand new winter windshield wiper blades. I also have plant-friendly concrete-friendly ice melt ready to go.

Day 1 of the new alarm clock went well -- it woke me up at 5 and again at 6 and alerted me at 7:30 (time to wake the elementary school boys up) right on cue.

Laundry is done. Kitchen counters are wiped down. Refrigerator is cleaned. Now I'm starting in on the bathrooms!

-- Rob

What appears to be 3 years of built-up grime on a boys' bathtub that has been only clean superficially is now gone! Dusting and trash gathering are next up on the agenda.

Happy Tuesday Morning Chatters! :)

The snow started falling here about 30 minutes ago -- streets and sidewalks are covered (VERY pretty!) but much of the grass can still be seen poking up through the snow.

Honestly, I like to read what Miss Pig has to say. I was just sucking up to Breezy with that link.

I KNOW cold. Yes, I'm from CA, but I lived in North Dakota where one needs to plug in one's car at night or it will not start the next morning. Where one's boogers freeze instantly upon going outside ...or at the very least the little hairs in one's nose instantly coat with ice needles. Wind Chill making it feel like -35*...I know cold and prefer hot. Hence Utah.

Post pictures!!!

...although it's not as good as the SPAM-flavored one....:rolleyes1
Bleurk!

How cute! How old were you in 1985 dear? I was 17 and had big hair and stirrup pants. I also happened to live in the actual "Valley". OhmyGAWD (forgive me God, for that).

Wendy "showed us the best parts". Oh my. LOL! Sorry but I sooooo went there.
Yes, my wrists, one inch of one ankle, and my left ear. Oh my.

Laundry is done. Kitchen counters are wiped down. Refrigerator is cleaned. Now I'm starting in on the bathrooms!

I AM in danger of freezing! It is white out conditions now, snowing and blowing snow and something like 4 degrees. YUCK! Okay, I'm completely ready for spring now!

:wave2: Good Morning Chatters. :surfweb:

Bright, sunny day in the OC but a cold 48 degrees. :cold: From my top floor apt. I can see all the mountains which are now covered with snow. It is a FABULOUS view. :goodvibes

KAR-Bear!!! Nice to see you, lady! I know, we need to get crackin'! We did order their main things online so they are trickling in, it's mainly the clothes we need to go shopping for.

DH is searching for jobs, but architecture jobs ain't abounding right now. :( It totally sucks. But we'll live. Thanks for the prayers!

What's new with you, lady? How are your boys?

DH is back from picking up heather from crew, so I better go finish watching Surivor finale with him! Later Kar!

Just finished watching Mamma Mia.... courtesy of my Secret Gift Fairy! :cloud9: I love it when people randomly ring my bell and drop off presents. Especially when that person is a Hag!!! Thanks B. Oh, and Ryan completely doesn't get MM. I got the mother of all eye-rolls when he sat down for 5 minutes. Eye rolls and "Oh my G, did they NOT just FINISH a song??? ANOTHER one????"

Wendy-- I was also wearing stirrup pants in 1985. Semi-big hair. And Wonder-Woman underoos, as I was 9 yrs old.

Kar-- Our temps were about the same as yours today, but alas, rainy & gloomy, and the only view I had was the Stanley Steamer truck at my neighbor's house.

Rob-- Now I know what I need to keep my house clean. A prescription for Vicodin! ('cept I doubt that would end well...Housewives on Painkillers--- next on Oprah)

Hi all you snowed-in Chatters! Hope you have your igloos squared away before Christmas!
