I was just showing my girls pics of SSR and of some of the places we'll be dining. They are chomping at the bit, now!

Good evening all! After spending 2 hours raking leaves this afternoon, I got suckered in to taking a belly dancing class at a local gym. I thought "How hard could it be?"

HA!

*cue the violin please*

I am so not going to be able to move tomorrow. I can feel my shoulders seizing up as I type this! I may be forced to take Riley to the dentist wearing my pj's. I think changing my clothes may be beyond the realm of possibility in about 8 hours.

Hope all of you have had much less shimmy-ing, hip-shaking, and booty twirling this evening!

Whatever Shannon - you know I have all that coming later on tonight.

Thanks so much for the bday wishes! (Rob-- I know you're probably kidding, but I did like seeing "24" instead of.... "31!")

Oops. I remember seeing that 31 and/or the 1976 before but had forgotten that and was just going by your pictures.

Rella, you are like the sweetest person. You always have nice things to say!!! Thumbs up to you!

I was going to say "Must be a Kansas City thing" but I'd hate to lower Rella down by including myself with her. I agree that Rella is super sweet and a class act.

LBelle was that you? I'm sorry I don't speak Canadianese. Keep that nasty weather up there to yourself and quit blaming Indiana. We are all innocents here!

Howdy, Chatters! Just tried taking Ainslee and her friend Katie to Girl Scouts, only to find out that it was canceled because no one had a key to the building we meet in. Had to come clear home with our tails between our legs.

Hey Bon! Riley didn't go to school today-- had a dentist's appt to look at the tooth that turned gray over Thanksgiving. He fell and hit his mouth a few weeks ago, and according to the x-rays, he killed the nerve. Basically, he's gonna have an unsightly, trailer-park tooth for the next 3-6 years!!!!

The adult tooth is fine, and will grow in normally, but that won't happen until he's 6-8 yrs old. Aaaagh! Anyway, I told him it's his "pirate tooth" and he thinks it's the coolest thing ever. Poor guy! We just have to keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get an abscess.

We're headed out to Boy Scouts here in a minute-- hopefully they have the key!

1st of all, your DS is adorable! 2nd, the "poor guy" was really referencing his getting a boo boo, and having to go for his 1st dentist appt. He was sort of freaked out, but did so, so well! Personally, I'd rather he have the gray tooth than have it pulled out-- that would have been way worse for him! And yeah, I too will probably be much more excited when it falls out than he will be!

Ok, he is much, much better at 6 than he was at 5 and he was better at 5 than he was at 4 so things are going in the right direction. He was at the Principal's office four times in the first six days of school a year ago (his kindergarten year) but was only there once the first week of school this year (now in first grade) and has only been back one more time since then. Plus, it looks like he may have some talent at football. Who knows, maybe one day he will be good enough to play for the #1 school team in the country :

While we spent a couple of days last weekend playing around at MU and in Columbia, I was really rooting for KU last Saturday (who is still in the top 5). Oh well, living between MU and KU, either way it's a fun place to be right now.
