I always get off at 4:00 (unless for some reason I get off early, which isn't often during the regular school year).

So when is your trip? And where are you staying and eating? Give me the scoop!

We are going to leave here December 7th after DH gets home from work and plan on driving all night. I think it will be easier on the kids that way. Plus I am sure I will have such an adrenaline rush that I won't sleep anyway;)

The first night we will be at ASMo, then 3 nights at SSR, followed by 3 nights at VWL. DH is really excited about trying SSR and VWL because we want to join DVC soon.

We are planning to eat at CP, H&V, Le Cellier, San Angel Inn, and Kona Cafe.

This will be our first trip as a family of 4:goodvibes

I took Kate for a mother/ daughter trip in 2005. I have passed on my Disney addiction to her, so we like to talk about it all the time.

You still here Bonnie or am I talking to myself.....again:lmao:

Kate's favorite ride is TT and mine is Splash Mtn. I hope Joey will be tall enough to ride Splash. Do you think putting my 3 year old on SM makes me a terrible mother?

Oh my heavens, that sounds so fun! I would love to stay at VWL. I think WL is my favorite resort that does DVC. And your dining plans sound wonderful!!

Sorry, I was answering some emails!! Mine is Splash Mtn too! No way, I think he will love Splash!

Hi Heather! My dd's name is Katherine or Katie, but I call her Kate too. We usually do our trips as mother/daughter.

I love every single one of the DVC's except for BWV and OKW. Don't know why, but I really dislike the layout of BWV and I do not like that they don't have any kind of counter service. OKW really just feels like an old folks community to me. I am a freak, so keep that in mind when taking any of my advice.

I do own at 4 DVC for resorts for different reasons. Here are my reasons for each one:

BCV - I like having the 11 month window for BCV for F&W festival which is my favorite thing. I also really like the little things at BCV, such as Art the Greeter and the Cape May character breakfast and the rooms and laid back atmosphere. I love the pool - there is no equal on property.

VWL - I love my lodge! WL was my very first deluxe I stayed in and truly fell in love. I love the proximity to MK and I personally really like the boat rides. I love the smell of the pine and the wood in the lodge and villas. I personally like the dark woodsy decor and that it feels like you are in a different place and not at Florida. I also really like the trails and walks you can take. Also, honestly, how can you not think that this place is beautiful?

SSR - was my very first purchase into DVC and the only one they were selling. I was nervous about staying there after reading the reports on the DVC threads and at the time there was a lot of hate for SSR. Since then I have stayed there by choice 3 times. I like the layout of SSR and the close proximity to DTD. I choose this resort when I want a more relaxing vacation where I just want to spend time with my daughter or my friends and not as much time in the parks. I personally think the bus service is fantastic, but I think of SSR as more of a resort and destination. We go here when we are going to do a lot of swimming or spending time at the resort and doing the activites at the community hall which are fantastic. I also LOVE the spa!

AKV - well what kind I say here. The AKL rocks the house! I was only going to do a small add-on of maybe 50 points, but then I bought 100 and then another 50. I love being able to stay concierge level because AKL concierge is awesome!!! My dd loves the animals, the hotel is terrific, the staff here are supurb and the restaurants from the quick service (Mara) to the buffet (Boma) and then Jiko are fabulous. When Kidani is finished, the pool area is going to be terrific. I really am thinking that when this one is finished, most of my points will be here because this where I want to stay. However, the maintenance points here are higher as we do share in the cost of taking care of the animals so keep that in mind.

As you can tell, I absolutely love my DVC! I love to go with my dd for a mother/daughter trip. I love to share it with my family and also with my friends and hags. Our February hag trip is going to be at the AKV concierge level, so I am so excited to be there with my friends.

If you are serious though, I would like to recommend my guide. He is completely awesome! I don't get any kind of referral because I live in Indiana, and Indiana law doesn't allow that, but I cannot say enough good things about my guide, Ken Bradshaw. He is one of the best!

So Heather, if you leave on the 7th, does that mean you are planning on arriving on the 8th? Cause my family trip (which is still iffy, not sure if we will really be able to do it) is Dec. 2 - 8. So if we are both there on the 8th, maybe we could meet up for a few minutes before my clan has to drive back home. Whatchu think?

We are going to try to go to Epcot as soon as we get checked in. If we leave here around 7 pm I figure we should arrive by 10 or 11. It is technically a 14.5 hour drive and hopefully, since we will be driving and the kids sleeping we shouldn't take much longer than that to get there. I think Joey will like TT too....at least I hope he does. I hope I don't scare him our first day though.

Is this a hint? Some people are never satisfied! I promised I'd take you there, I just need to wait until next year hag, although I am sure good ole Ken would love for me to call and purchase ANOTHER add-on!

:rotfl:

Psh! Girl, that wasn't a hint at all! Up yours, hag! ;)

Thanks for all the input, Squiddy. I have talked to a guide (whose name escapes me at the moment) already. It will be at least a year before we can buy no matter what.:sad1:

DH and I toured WL when we were there without the kids last December....you are right......it is absolutely wonderful. And it is only a boatride away from my favorite park!!!

Kate's name is Katelyn but we call her Kate or Katie.......I like to call her Kate the Great too sometimes:cheer2:

I am thinking of buying resale so I can start off with smaller contracts and just adding on from there. It is alot easier to come up with cash for a few points than the whole enchilada all at once.:rolleyes1
