I am thinking of buying resale so I can start off with smaller contracts and just adding on from there. It is alot easier to come up with cash for a few points than the whole enchilada all at once.

That's true, but you can finance from Disney and it is pretty easy as you can make extra payments or pay off early with no penalties. Keep in mind that smaller contracts are harder to find and are usually more costly point wise than if you buy a bigger contract. If I were you, I would go ahead and get your name in with one of the resale companies and tell then that you want 40-50 points or 25 - whatever and the timeframe that you want them. They usually have a waitlist for smaller contracts and some of them never even make it on their site before someone has a pending purchase for it.

I tried that route first and waited about 6 months for a smaller contract and then decided the heck with and just called Disney and purchased from them and financed it and then paid it off early. I usually do my add-ons in the spring when I have my company bonus and my tax refund check so it is like extra money that I just hand right over to Disney.
