We have a nice community pool, too. Every year I think, would it be terrible to have their winter birthdays in the summer so we could use the pool? Maybe I will do that next year..tacky or not..

I say go for it. I will do it if that is what DS wants eventually. DS10 stopped wanting them and wanted ones at the Laser tag places etc so I did that too.

I wonder how winners solve the "silblings at the party" problem. :scratchin

So far only one mom mentioned maybe having to have siblings with her and could she pay for them. They can pay for them so I said sure, you can pay for them. I know I am going to have extra pizza for the adults so I dont care is a kid has a slice. And they wont get goody bags like the invitee, I bought the animal cracker boxes and put them in the goody bags, but I have some of them left over, so if it is awkward I will just give the kid one of those.

It is at 5:30 so I do know it is hard time but it was one of the few times they could pretty much guarantee the place to ourselves, which I (and DS5) prefer.

Okay I know I said that I have to catch up on the house from being sick this weekend, but I just remembered that last night while looking for the tapes I recorded of Rescue Me for DH (that I need to burn onto dvd to send to him at school) I found the tapes of the Stephen King little mini series Nightmares & Dreamscapes I recorded & now I'm burning them on to dvds. Of course if anyone has seen them you know the first episode has no talking in it (William Hurt is a professional hitman who killed a toy maker) so I can't really listen to it while doing stuff I'm gonna have to sit down & watch it. You know to make sure it's recording right ;)
Atleast I got some laundry started before I found the tapes, so someone will have clean clothes for tomorrow.

I'm just glad I don't have to deal with kids birthday parties unless I am invited to one. And those invitations are few and far between. I am waiting to see if my friend Mark and his wife have a party for their youngest who is turning 1 very soon. What do you get a 1 year old anyways?

Go the bookstore and get the cutest illustrated Mother Goose that you can find.

That depends on how much you like the parents. If you like them, then I agree with the book. If you have any hidden resentments toward them for anything, then go with an electric toy guitar, big legos, or play-doh. :thumbsup2

I should invite them to join our club. Jen is the perfect Loser. No wonder I get along with her so well. There is a whole long story and goes along with Jen and I. But I shall spare you the details.

I am thinking educational activities for a present...those kids have enough toys. Mark and Jen deserve at least one smart kid out of three.

I would add Moon Sand to that list, except I wouldn't want the little darling to eat it...Moon Sand would be a great resentment gift...AND something very noisy/repetitive.

I used to resent the accompanying sibling until I started having to schlep one of mine along because DH is always working. I have done the "offer to pay", and standing in the background thing..usually at arcades we just go off by ourselves away from the party..I don't want to just leave one of my kids at one of these arcades..the ones around here are kinda creepy, dark and rowdy. And always, either the host has said they have an extra admission from a kid who didn't show up, or extra cake and my kid is always very graciously given a piece. So now I don't resent the extra kid coming along to our party and try to accomdate if I can. The one that gets me though. is when giving out the prize or goodie bag at the end, the birthday guests who start asking for one to take home to their sibling. I guess it's kinda nice of them, but I don't make enough to hand out to the entire family of course, so I have to say, "sorry"..and if the sibling is standing right there, it's even harder.

Pop up books are great for a one year old.

I love getting books, I dont need anymore toys. The noisy button books work for the revenge factor too:thumbsup2

My parents always buy the noisiest toys they can find. I asked them wth was wrong with them. And then I told them that they could buy all the noisy things they wanted but those toys were going to stay at THEIR house for when the kids came to visit.

They stopped buying the noisy stuff.

What I should do is get a present for Jen. She deserves a day off from the kids. But knowing Mark he will find someway to get someone else to care for them so he can play Guitar Hero.:sad2:

good evening to my fellow losers,

I am still stuck with a  hubby. I swear he will drive me :crazy2: . I told him I was going to fold :laundy: in the bedroom .:lmao: But in stead I am dising. I so need to avoid him. He is such a winer when he is sick. I think I need a :drinking1 anyone want to join me?

I decided the kids will have the wrinkled look this week, because their clean clothes are still in the basket.

Home...had a rotten day. throwing together something to feed the family.

I could sure use a :drinking1 too. I did my accounting homework and boy am I glad there are a bunch of actual accountants in my office. Had our tax guy look at it and correct it for me. So now I know it is correct.

I have cramps:sick:

:grouphug:

But look at the flip side of that coin......

no cramps = morning sickness = labor = 18+ years of super fun :scared1:

This is what I tell myself every month  Although I know it's not recommended I keep telling my GYN to just remove the stuff, I'm done with it

Woo! Woo! I'm climbing on the drink train! Chugga, chugga!
I deserve it - I looked at wallpaper books for two hours today and didn't find anything.
