laugh o grams See that, you went the wrong way. If you go towards Canada, you hit the Rose & Crown on only the second country...big mistake!! We go towards Mexico and it's beer and "slushies" all the way until England. As far as I'm concerned, the Rose & Crown's like the black hole of drinks Around the World...you have to avoid it at all costs...until the end!

I will try again on our next trip

The rose and crown was a bump in the road for sure.
They were out of my requested beverage, so I paniced and went with the CMs choice. It was not so good, so I chugged it.

I'm so jealous about those of you planning trips. I have chosen to join the recession (not really but I'm sure some of you know what I'm talking about ;) ) so I really must build up the emergency fund before planning another trip. Thank goodness the family will keep me busy--I've got my twin nephews' high school graduation, a niece's first communion--so I'll be so busy traveling between NY and VA I won't miss Disney. (yeah right, but maybe if I keep saying it it will be true.)

Craig & Laugh O'Grams, good to see you both! It is sad to see what has happened to Detroit, particularly the city itself.... sad to say the least.

Laugh O'Grams, you have to use those Disney points, so, you must book a trip :goodvibes

We have health issues going on, we might actually have to cancel this years Hawaii trip  If that happens, we're going to Europe next summer, so, no worse for wear I'd say... But we are going to Disney in April regardless, so I can't complain :)

Chris, you must not book after last time's debacle with the twins :rotfl2: Go ahead and press that submit button :thumbsup2

That's the spirit!

I'd rather go to Europe than Hawaii. Where are you going?

Don't temp me. At least I'm not considering taking the twins this time.

Okay, maybe just a little.

You could go to the Smithsonian. That's always exciting.

I love DC. So many good restaurants.

 everyone. I've been away for a while, just been busy, but wanted to say hello to all of you, and hope that you all had great holidays! It's so close to innauguration! I can't wait.

Hey, welcome back! Not much going on. We're still liberals. Our guy still won.

DC's a great town! I have a friend who lives in Rockville, MD who we visit from time to time. There used to be a restaurant in the middle of Washington's Union Station that makes some of the best Bloody Marys I have ever had, and they employ a string quartet for entertainment. Wish I could remember the name of the place...

Love that you chugged the clunker!! :rotfl:

See...depending on my mood, my drink of choice is either a Grey Goose martini or a vodka tonic, so after two or three of them, and I can kiss the drink tour of Epcot goodbye!

I'm not a very good drinker. I don't hold my alcohol at all, so I kind of avoid it. But those slushie ones at Epcot, those aren't too strong. I certainly could have used one on our last day in the MK.

I love those slushies !!!!!!!!!!

I am no longer a good drinker. Kids and hangovers do not mix well.
However DH's family is another story. On christmas we have my family singing christmas songs well my DF and DB play guitar.
At DH family's gathering there are no christmas carols, but there is beer pong and flip cup.

On the 15th day pre-Obama, my SO gave to me.
FIVE GOLD PEACE SIGNS!!!!
A membership to NORML and four ounces of medicinal tea (tea?)
Three Vintage Vinyls, one: Lennon's 'Let it Be.':hippie:
Two French Hens(anything French is liberal, right?)
And a White Dove in an Arugula Tree!!!

stay tuned...

Having really bad Disney trip withdrawal.

Must plan another trip.

This is bad.

Would would you do, fellow Disney nerds?

I just got back on the 2nd from 9 days at OKW.....what makes the withdrawal worse is the fact that the weather was way above normal for most of the week!!....which made hanging out at the pool possible almost every day. NYE was a blast, I gave up on the crowd at epcot at 6pm and ended up going to the little party they had at OKW...great fun!!!...cant wait for next christmas, as I think we will make this our annual trip instead of April

Okay, maybe just a little.

But we always go to Hawaii, we love the Grand Wailea...

Anyhow, I think if we go, we will visit Ireland to bring DD to the place she was named after, I'm sure there will be a stop in England, and I think for the Beach, we would go to the Canary Islands..... all of that is obviously something we are mulling over if we have to cancel this summer, which is appearing increasingly likely.....

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

This is awesome news! Al was an average citizen, who felt passionately that his country was on the wrong track. He educated himself, met his constituents, and put his money where his mouth was and ran for elective office.

What a close election! But the people have spoken!!! :yay:

I am looking forward to his first "Meet the Press."

AGREED!!! He has educated himself and felt passionately enough about our country to actually run for office!

I too look forward to his first MTP!!!

CONGRATULATIONS AL!!!

Argh. All your trip planning and Disney mentioning has me going :headache: . I need to get away for a few days somewhere warm with plenty of sunshine.

The house is so empty with Mom gone, the three of us are feeling pretty down.:worried: But, we have the seed catalogs out and planning for Spring. Even though Mom won't be here to supervise we're going to plant a huge veg bed and tons of :flower3: flowers in her honor.

I do hope to meet up with a special pal at WDW in late September so I can :smickey: dream too.

I'm back from my 4 hour trip to WDW.

Not much to report... WDW's still there ;)

Got an awesome seat in Japan (at the restaurant whose name escapes me) for dinner and illuminations.

And now, I'm back in Miami
