THE LIBERAL THREAD #3- No Debate Please

Ohhh ... I had a single Techno that was a workhorse. My DD used it at WDW well past the weight limit and it kept on rolling.

Two words: status symbol

People spend ridicules amount of money on babies. I guess some folks would say the same about our Technos, but mine was the 4th (and last) stroller I purchased when the other three broke under our high travel lifestyle.

I didn't care about decorating their rooms. I rarely put them in anything but playclothes, but I need mobility. I put my money in my strollers. Especially with twins, you need a good stroller. And the BOB is the best for trails and even getting around at the park (all that mulch). I'm a big fan of slings and Bjorns too.

We received so many expensive presents with the twins. People just want to buy little matching outfits, but honestly, they never wore them. I ended up donating most of it. I don't see spending a lot of money of clothing and furniture for kids. Although, I have a weakness for toys.

I don't know how many times I would yell: "DON'T STAND UP WITH THE BACKPACK ON THE HANDLES!!!". "What Mommy?" *thunk*

I feel your pain. With our single stroller, that happened a lot. Doesn't happen with the double, though. I guess because there's at least one little hiney sitting in it at a time.

Check it---I am going to tandem nurse my terrorists. And if they have trouble sleeping, I will absolutely NOT let them CIO. That's probably why they ended up terrorists in the first place. Their parents let them cry themselves to sleep as babies!!! THE HUMANITY! We'll tend to our organic arugula patch on the land, and at night I'll nurse them to sleep after a hearty dinner and a arugula-wheatgrass smoothie. We'll pray for the polar bears and fall asleep. :hippie:
All of yall's concern for the terrorist's is very touching, but you really don't have to worry too much about them. When they leave Gitmo, there's always job openings at the University of Illinois at Chicago! :cool2:

Excellent news. Good to know a new generation will be properly educated.

Long live the revolution!

Hey, I see you all talking about stroller's, and I want to say I loved my Peg Perego... thankfully we never needed a double, but the Peg Perego we had was a work horse as well. Big wheels, easily went through grass, fields, ruts, trails and everything else we could throw at it. The only downside to it, was that to collapse it you had to take the seat physically off. It was never broken while traveling though, so that was a good thing :thumbsup2

You know, I didn't even think of it getting abused on the plane. Although, I'm taking it right on and then having them store it up front. I figure if I pay for five tickets even though the twins technically can ride for free, and at least two of those riders probably won't even have bags, then I at least deserve a space for my stroller.

Please! For the love of all that is holy, don't let them hurt my stroller!

FT indeed.

They won't. Her views are shared by Bill Gedde...

I think they just keep her on to laugh at her. Even my one and only friend who is a true conservative (even has the big SUV--horrors) thinks she's a buffoon.

I have a Peg too! I love(d) it. I had the Atlantico, which they don't make anymore. It has a book fold though, so it's not nearly as travel-friendly as the Mac umbrellas.

The forecast for Orlando during our landing time tomorrow is grim. :sad2: Heavy rain and thunderstorms. :scared: I loathe flying anyway and this is about enough to send me over the edge.

This is the stroller we want to get:

It folds up soooo easily and maneuvers very well. It's $400 but it's built like a bike. The $150 travel systems in Babies R Us just suck.

...This thread is starting to sound like the "Moms to Be" thread that I'm on. Anyone want to share nursery pictures? :rotfl:

That's really nice. Probably a better jogger than the BOB, which is pretty maneuverable but more for trails.

I hated my travel system. Had one for my first child and it was even less easy to use than the double Macleran.

The "travel systems" are the most horrible things ever! The strollers are only good for going to the mall. That's it! They are way too heavy for anything else. I think people get sucked into the marketing for them and then regret it.

Do you jog? Is that why you want that stroller? I ask because it looks really, really big and at 21 lbs it's pretty heavy. My Mac weighed less than 15 lbs.

Ugh. Are you ready?

The kids are napping and I should be getting things done, but I'm really feeling lazy today.

BTW, is that a Medela pump in the corner of your kids' room? Maybe you can use this when your terrorist arrives?

Yes, that's my Pump In Style. :lmao:

I remember sitting in that rocking chair pumping at all ungodly hours of the night, and in my hormonal sleep-deprived state, I'd swear the pump was talking to me.

DD's room hasn't looked that clean since she came home from the hospital. Now it looks like the Disney store threw up in it, and Punky Brewster's wardrobe came in to see what the fuss was about. :sad2:

Dang. I leave ya'll for a minute and the conversation has gone from your Foreign-Exchange Terrorist to strollers?

Liberals.
:rolleyes1

Mine talked too. It said "wickee woo wickee woo wickee woo." Drove me nuts.
