I'm sorry to read about the various insurance horror stories. I'm thankful and grateful that my employer provides excellence health insurance.

Luv Duke, I hope everything works out for your sister.

Good-morning hippies!

Hope you all are having a lovely morning.

And may I be the first to wish you . . . Happy Holidays!

Hahaha.

Braving the mall this morning as I need to get a gift for my MIL. In-laws are arriving in 9 hours. Ahhhhh!!!!!!11

Have a great day!

Sarah Palin is the gift that keeps on giving. It seems that the RNC spent an additional $30,000 (yes that is a total of $180,000) on clothes for her. In addition, the RNC spent $55,000 on Palin's hair stylists on top of $30,000 of makeup work. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/12/05/palins-stylists-took-in-5_n_148621.html You can not make facts like this up.

:sad2:

I am thankful every day that we WILL NOT have the Republican party running our country come January 20th! Funny that she ran on a platform of lies about how she is so down-to-earth firing the cook, selling the jet, bah, blah, blah.

I guess the only good thing that came out of the RNC spending so much money on her hair is that she isn't donning that school marm-ish bun anymore!!

Good Morning! I cannot wiat until January 20, 09!!!

I am hoping at least after the inaugeration the "he is not a citizen" jokes will stop! Am I being too optimistic?

That's a nice sign...Love stained glass myself! :goodvibes
I do too. It's the only thing that makes going to a church/temple worthwhile for me. Oh ... and I LOVE going to Cathedrals when we travel abroad. They are so lovely.

I agree, I love the architecture and art of the big churches, just not necessarily their version of the message they are preaching.

The right keeps saying that Obama's "most fervent supporters already have reason to be disappointed in him." Huh?

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm not disappointed and I haven't run into any Obama supporter who was. What say you folks?

It seems to me the people who are most disappointed are:

1) the PUMA's because Hillary betrayed them by agreeing to work in Obama's administration

2) the rightwing who just knew that a former community organizer named Barack Hussein Obama was never going to win against a war hero and "their Sarah". After all, Sarah told them "perhaps so, you betcha".

3) the Republican cons who are so disappointed Obama looks like a president, talks like a president, and acts like a president. They were so sure he'd be hiding under his bed now.

Btw, I think I know why Obama hasn't produced a birth certificate that passes muster with the folks who would question his birth even if they were there attending: He was never born. That's what he's hiding.

Yeah, that must be it. :lmao:

No doubt!!

I was glad to see that George and Laura have already purchased their new home in Texas. I don't see what's holding them back from moving...sure would be nice if they'd do the country a solid and packed up and moved today. "Lame duck" has never described a President more accurately...

That Crawford "ranch" was never home. They purchased that house right before George ran for president. It was good for his "cowboy" image. :lmao:

Btw, that rundown shack you see in all the photo ops is NOT the Bush residence. The real Bush residence is a rather nice mansion with an indoor swimming pool. But, you see, real cowboys don't swim. :rotfl2:

He just purchased a mansion in the old Texas neighborhood he lived in before he ran for Governor. Uber-exclusive real estate. Funny, I never even though about the "ranch" in Crawford...I wonder what he'll do with his spare time without all that brush to clear...

ETA: Man, I am losing it...I just noticed the thread about the new digs. Funny, but not surprising, there are DISers who think that laying out $3 mil for a home in TX is "normal"...

$3,000,000 for a home is completely within the range of a Conservative "$50,000 millionaire". I bet Joe the plumber thinks that's completely reasonable. Perhaps so. :lmao:

This is soooo true! I am surrounded by Obama supporters and none of us are disappointed. As a matter of fact the few..;) Republican friends I have, are encouraged.

Joe's asking about purchasing the house next door. Of course, he has no down payment, bad credit, a tax lien against his current residence and in all truth, isn't really interested in buying the house...he's just asking about it.
