I got an email from the dems that said if you make a donation of at least $25 you would be entered into a contest to be one of ten individuals chosen to attend the Inauguration. If you did not make a donation, you could also enter by writing a brief essay about what the inauguration means to you personally. I already had given a donation a few weeks ago...so I could get my cool "change is possible" t-shirt.....so giving money was out, so I wrote a brief essay. Last night at midnight was the deadline. I just wonder who will be lucky enough to win.

Oops! I got that too, but didn't see the and/or part..Oh well. With the economy screwed up as it is, my one campaign contribution had to be the last donation to politics for a while...


As for Palin....She should go to the Middle East with Joe the Plumber...or can she see the Middle East from her deck?

Yes. I've returned from my sabbatical. I was protesting the demolition of the rain forests of South America. Quite an experience. I learned how to make my own canoe out of recycled newspapers. I have the plans if anyone wants them.

When we chained ourselves to the giant tree next to the river...I had flashbacks of you all. And your fight in standing up for what you believe. And I say this...

I'll post pics of my canoe later. And maybe my newly aquired tattoo. Where I had "Kiss me...I'm liberal" tattooed on my neck. Where everyone can see, o' course.

We were horrible slackers with the countdown. I was never good at math, so I didn't even attempt it. I keep writing '08 on when I'm writing down dates, so by my numbers we'd have been over a year away!

Thanks for doing your part to save the Rainforest. Deforestation is a huge problem. You've been a good liberal. I'm also glad to know your terrorists are doing well, and are learning how to be good American cowboys.

Yes, I did it a couple of times but I could never remember if we counted the 20th or not so I just stopped.

I know, how crazy was that? She sounds like such a whiner. I also loved the big shiny black boots that she had on--sooo trashy!

I look like a big fattie in all of my Obama t-shirts.....although I always feel like a size 2 on the inside !!! But then again they are all size XL....I never know what size to order for those things!!!

I know! I have fat blindness. I never notice it when I gain weight and usually attribute it to shrinking clothing. If I don't weight myself a couple of times a week, the weight can creep up--especially since I bake pretty much everyday.

I wish some people in other threads understood that. I mean, do you ever support anyone--even someone you love--100% all of the time? I know I don't. I voted for Obama & I feel I voted for the right guy, but I know I won't be 100% happy with everything he does.

Bicker, I agree with you (and them) about broadcast TV going digital. People have had plenty of time to get converter boxes (even if the coupon program was a PITA).

Yeah I don't get that. Don't the majority of people have cable nowadays any way?

I guess there will be some who will be without TV transmission. Hopefully, they get it corrected right away.

I was going that will affect mostly the poorer folks - but then, according to the Obama Stimulus thread - most poor people have flat screen TVs......
