That's BS. They don't have intimate "town halls" and "meet and greets" in MY state. Iowa and New Hampshire had had their collective butts kissed for too long.
I'm completely against the idea of a national primary, simply because I think the gauntlet of a long primary season is something that goes a long way towards weeding out poor candidates. My idea would be to have 4 "regional" primaries / caucuses (each state can decide that for themselves), taking place once per month from January through April. That would give the candidates plenty of time to travel in each region and get their message out. Every four years, the states could be reordered so that everyone would have an early say in the process. By doing it regionally, you'd have a good mix of "big" and small states each month, and still have the test that the primary system currently puts the candidates through.
Howard Dean says, they may make a arrangement with Cinton & Obama!!!!

" I think we will have a nominee sometime in the middle of March or April. But if we don’t, then we’re going to have to get the candidates together and make some kind of an arrangement. "

Somebody tell Howie to go sit in the corner and let things play out! I have little desire to see a brokered deal end with Hillary as the candidate and Barack as the VP. If that's the way things end up after the votes are all in, then fine. But I don't think anything should be forced down our throats for "the good of the party".

ETA: West Virginia's Democratic primary isn't until May. Until all the vote is in...including MINE, I have no desire to see any "deal", regardless of how it looks.

Agreed. I think I'm leaning toward Obama when my state's primary comes up next month. But whether it's Hillary or Barack come November, I will vote Democrat.

Same here. I've vote for a legless yellow dog before I vote for any of the Republican freak show.

There are many that would welcome a Obama/Hillary or a Hillary/Obama...either way we are guaranteed a Democratic Pres :thumbsup2

If you watched the last Debate everyone clapped hard at the thought of a "Dream Ticket".....Could you just imagine both:cool1:

I know you would rather vote Rep( If I remember correctly) than vote for Hillary so what if it was a Hillary/Obama or vice versa?

I have no problem with a "dream ticket" if it plays out that way on it's own (and it may, particularly if Hillary wins the nomination, as I think making Barack her VP would be her only chance of winning). I can think of VP candidates I'd rather see Barack pick (John Edwards comes immediately to mind), but I don't have the irrational hatred for Hillary that some do, so wouldn't have a problem with her on the ticket. I just don't think that any deal should be brokered to create that dream ticket until the votes have played out.

You remember incorrectly.

:thumbsup2 thanks could not remember.... and I agree would like to see it go till the end. It needs to play it self out or the people will not be happy....either way.

Mitt is supposedly suspending his campaign today at the CPAC convention.

Don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya, Mitt.

That means that McCain has it sewn up. The Republicans gain something here-having all these months to put their energy behind one candidate while we're still trying to choose between two people we like.

Very true.

Fits, have you heard that idiot Corzine making noise about him or Bob Menendez being good VP material? That man's ego is incredible. WTH would Clinton need an East Coast VP anyway?

Two days after Rush endorses him, he's out of the race. :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Huckabee won't be going anywhere for a little while, and with Mitt out he'll get all the real right wing of the party. But for all intents and purposes, it's been over since Tuesday.

Not sure who I'd rather see the Dems run against: a 70+ year old who thinks we should be in Iraq for the next 100 years, or the strange little man that still believes in the Easter Bunny. :teeth:

Thankfully, I've missed that, but it did occur to me when Corzine endorsed Hillary so early that he was going to be looking for repayment.

In a selfish way though, it would be good for me. He'd do less damage as VP than he's done as Governor. ;)

Oh good grief! Hillary would be shooting herself in the foot with those two at the VP helm.

I never follow or believe in anything the NJ politicans tell me - they are the most crooked in the bunch.

Hillary is getting her money...here supporters ar esupporting her...

Dear Friend,

Now THAT is what I call two good days.

Not only did we celebrate huge victories for Hillary all over the country on Super Tuesday, but you matched our success with a breathtaking show of support. Thank you so much for your contribution yesterday.

You exceeded our $3 million goal in less than 24 hours. In fact, we've already hit FOUR MILLION DOLLARS! Incredible! And so far, more than 35,000 people -- 35,000! -- have made online contributions.

Your response has been so amazing that we are doubling our goal: $6 million in 72 hours.

I'm simply awed to see everyone stepping up for Hillary. And boy did you pick a good time to do it! We poured our heart, our soul, and -- you better believe -- tens of millions of dollars into February 5. Now it's time to build our resources back up for what we know will be a long and hard-fought contest.

I hope you'll consider making another contribution to put us over the top.

Contribute now to help us reach $6 million by midnight Friday.

We have the best candidate. We have the best strategy. All we need to win are the resources to put our plan into place. And we are depending on you.

You accomplished something incredible in the last 24 hours -- $4 million contributed and 35,000 online donations. We know you can sustain our campaign when we need you the most.

Let's reach a new milestone for Hillary -- help us raise $6 million by midnight Friday.

Contribute today to help us reach our new goal.

I'm so proud to work for someone with Hillary's strength and character. Watching her on stage Tuesday night made me more proud than ever to be a part of this historic campaign.

I know you feel the same way, and I speak for her when I tell you we are so grateful to have you on our side.

Sincerely,
[/FONT]

As of 9:20 this morning, Barack is already over $7,000,000 since Tuesday, raising around a million dollars overnight.

Sure...it's not 3:1 like it was in January, but I think Hillary's still got a ways to go to keep up. Plus, you have to wonder how well that monetary pipeline will continue to flow as she loses state after state the next three weeks.

Read about it here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/02/07/barack-obama-raises-7-mi_n_85500.html .

Obama and Hillary have donations pouring in.

I wonder what kind of money McCain will be able to raise.

Yes I am aware that he is getting money...my point was more to the fact that she is getting in money also. Not to imply that she was doing better than Obama...

And who is to say she will loss all the states next week...they did say she will have to work hard. And still keep in mind she has 100,000 more of the popular vote on Tuesday and still at this point has more delegates...but delegates aside.. A 100,000 votes ahead is by far not much, but she turned out to be more popular by 100,000 more people.
