I don't which is scarier:

1) A potential president who doesn't understand the distinction between radical Shiites (Iran) and radical Sunnis (Al-Qaeda) and the fact they loath each other?

2) A potential president who claims Iran is attacking our troops, but doesn't do anything about it.

This was not a good moment for McCain. Any can misspeak, but 3 times? This was a lapse for McCain.

I was impressed by one aspect of the Obama speech. I was very impressed how fast the Republican talking points went out. Let me correct that: Not Republican because many Republicans were impressed. Rightie would be the better word.

Anyway, that speech wasn't over 10 seconds when the talking points were established:

1) He threw his grandma under the bus.

2) He lied about .......... about ........ well, just about.

Every rightie on every blog and talk show, up until a few minutes ago, managed to come up with those same talking points. Those same exact talking points.

I believe it is the sunnis that are fighting Al Qaeda of Iraq out of Iraq (not to be confused with the Sunni's of Iraq who will fight the Kurds and Shiites of Iraq) I know it gets very muddled in translation

And why are you listening to the righties in the first place? I've blocked them for my listening pleasure, and my blood pressure, I have to be careful with it.

Threw his grandmother under the bus! I'm white, and I have certainly heard my own grandmother say not very nice things about black people, and not just black people. DH's grandparents even own the Confederate battle flag. What can you do?

For most of the loudest detractors, there isn't anything he could have said or done that would have been acceptable. Most of them wouldn't have ever voted for him anyway, because they disagree with him on political issues like the war and the economy.

Exactly, which is why what they say really doesn't bother me. They're giving back what the Left has been giving them over GW. It's their time to bash and they're having a grand time at it.
