Happy Saturday Everyone! Another day of work for me today. My internet isn't working at home so I'm kinda glad to be working today  Just thought I'd mention I saw The Lion King in 3D last night. It was FANTASTIC. First of all I am over the moon they didn't include that new horrible song "Morning Report" BUT, you know the part where Simba sees Mufasa in the clouds and he's all like "You must take your place in the Circle of Life" etc. Well, when Mufasa starts to disappear then they cut to Simba running towards the cloud

It's the shot right after this:
6061-medium.jpg

Well you're supposed to see the cloud in the upper left side of the screen. Right? Well it wasn't there! Darn you Disney. Why can't you just leave these classics alone and show them how they originally were? Perhaps it didn't work well with the 3D but STILL. You can't slip these things by me, Disney corporation. I will notice. It's just my favourite Disney movie of ALL TIME of which I have memorized the entire script. I'm a bit of a nerd. I'm okay with that. I'm seeing it again tonight with DBF. Can't wait! What? It's only in theaters for 2 weeks. I must see it as much as possible on the big screen. It's only been like 17 years since I last saw it on the big screen. I'll also be buying the Blu-ray the day it comes out.

I've been recording all your answers. Hope to have the next update up tomorrow at some point. Have a great day everyone :goodvibes

That's a bummer:eek: Jasmine and I are heading out today to see it...glad you told me about that part, cause I know I would have been "what the heck is going on" right in the movie theatre and Jasmine would be embarrassed...you know how it goes:lmao:

Oh, I really want to see The Lion King in 3D BADLY! It is probably my favorite Disney movie, switching back and forth with Princess & the Frog, but I think it reigns supreme most of the time, hopefully I'll be able to see this special version over the next two weeks. I don't have it on DVD or VHS so this would be a good chance to see it for once :goodvibes Glad to hear you enjoyed it though (knowing they didn't ruin the classic movie)! (:

:lmao: It doesn't sound like you are far off from how me and my sister were. We were singing along and dancing in our seats as we watched the movie. People probably thought we were nuts :rotfl: The whole theater clapped at the end. It's definitely a Disney classic.

How can you not own the one and only best Disney movie ever?! Shame on you! I hope you get to see it in theaters. It's a great experience.

It's still Saturday where I am! :rolleyes1 I kind of want to go see Lion King, but most 3D gives me a headache. Choices, choices!

How many people were ahead me at the Epcot turnstiles for rope drop? Two?

What special gift did we get from a CM on our way to get into position for Soarin?
The standby time measurer if you were in line, stickers if you weren't at Soarin' yet.

Did we ride Soarin' standby or FP first?
Standby!

What 3 things (appetizer, entree, dessert) did I order at Le Cellier? (one point each)
Cheddar Cheese Soup, Filet Mignon, Chocolate Moose

How did we get to B&C from Epcot?
Boated!

What did we order at B&C?
Ice cream, generally. No Way Jose?

Did we see Illuminations after B&C?
Yes, at least some of it.

What shows did I see around WS?
France and China movies, British and American vocal performers, Japanese drummers.

What recent Pixar movie (within the last 4 years) was playing at the Dig Site this night?
Up

I've been lurking because of school but I've really been enjoying the updates and my (temporary) position (somewhat) near the top!

After looking through everyone's answers so far, I decided I should clarify some questions and give a couple hints:

Question #2: This would have been a gift we got before getting to Soarin'. We were walking towards the rope to wait for the park to open and a CM gave us something....

Question #5: Nobody has answered this right. We went to B&C late in the day. Keep in mind how we would be touring Epcot at this time of day.....

Question #6: I'm looking for the name of something off the menu.

Question #8: I should've really clarified this because I know I'm confusing a lot of you! I'm looking for the name (or best description ;) ) of the shows we saw around WS that involve performers

I'm going to give more time for everyone to review their answers and make any changes. The next update is written but I won't post it until tomorrow. Hopefully by then everyone will have had enough time.

Thanks for playing! :goodvibes

I went to see it last night!!! It was AMAZING. I loved it. The Lion King is absolutely incredible. Best 3-D movie I've ever seen outside of a Disney park. Glad to know you liked it too! :thumbsup2 Yay for going to see it again!! :yay:

followed you from Jen's pre-trip report and decided I have to subscribe!

:welcome: Glad to have you back :goodvibes

Yes, I can finally join in!! Better late than never right?

I'm so glad you loved the hotel! Wasn't the location just PERFECT! Did you figure out that indoor pathway to the Metro? It was in the middle of everything so walking around wouldn't have been so bad either. I miss their beds....

Great morning in MK! I can't believe Fantasyland was that empty! I've never been on a whole slew of Fantasyland rides either, but I'll be remedying that on my next trip. I think after listening to the CDs you burned for me, I like Splash Mountain even more, even if it DOES still creep me out a little....

I actually never did find that indoor pathway to the Metro. Was it from the hotel? Would've been handy when Hurricane Irene showed up on our last day  Splash creeps you out? I don't remember you mentioning that. I LOVE that ride. Learn to love the ride Yuki :rotfl:

After seeing it again last night I noticed a few more things that really ticked me off. First of the all the sound was completely messed up. It's like it was missing an entire channel. I might only notice this because I'm a nerd and know the movie inside out. There was SO much audio missing. For example, in I just can't wait to be king, when Zazu sings "This child is getting wildly out of wing" The whole word "wing" is not heard. Also the worst audio part was during the stampede. When Simba gets knocked out of Mufasa's mouth, you don't even hear him roar. It was horrible. PLUS that whole cutting out the cloud part that I mentioned above really really annoys me. Here's the scene I'm talking about:

Mufasa in the Clouds

The part with the cloud that was cut starts at 0:50. If you go see the movie again or for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, pay special attention to that scene in the 3D version. The cloud is gone.

There are several aspects of the movie that Disney has changed that I'm not happy about.

Here's another one:

Lion King Crocs Old vs New

At least that video makes me feel better knowing I'm not the only one who notices these things....

It's like Disney is going through the "Star Wars" syndrome where George Lucas keeps re-releasing the movies with horrible, controversial changes to them. Why change such a classic? Stop touching classic movies people and make NEW ones instead of ruining old ones with new animation techniques.

UGH

Okay. Rant over :teeth:

One of those counting cards , that they use to assess the wait time hj

Question #5: Nobody has answered this right. We went to B&C late in the day. Keep in mind how we would be touring Epcot at this time of day.....
Caught the bus to Beach Club from the front of the park

Question #6: I'm looking for the name of something off the menu.
Do you mean that is NOT on the menu

Question #8: I should've really clarified this because I know I'm confusing a lot of you! I'm looking for the name (or best description ;) ) of the shows we saw around WS that involve performers

The Holy Grail, The Voices of Liberty, The British Invasion, Off Kilter, The Belly Dancing in Morocco

We woke the next morning bright and early to be at Epcot for rope drop. Stitch thought I was a little insane for wanting to get there an hour before the park opens just to stand there and wait. I told her she'd thank me later. I had to say that a lot to convince her to do these things....

Once again, my planning ahead paid off because I was the first person in line at the Epcot turnstiles

Right as I took this photo, a girl standing at the turnstile beside us giggled at my pose. Not that she was making fun of me, she just loved my enthusiasm at 8 o'clock in the morning. We started chatting with her and her fiance and found out she was from Switzerland (I think that's right) and he was from Britain. It was fantastic talking to them, not only for their accents, but just learning about their life in Europe. I desperately want to see more of Europe and hearing about all the wonderful things over there makes me want to see it even more.

Soon the CMs had opened the turnstiles and we took the walk/sprint to the rope. On our way, a CM came up to the Europe couple (who were walking with us) and asked how many were in his party. He said two at first but then immediately said 4 since we were with them. I thought it was so sweet of him to get whatever it was the CM was handing out. People are just so nice in Disney! Here's what the CM was handing out:

It was a FP for a choice of 3 rides with no set time valid for the entire day. Cool! We held on to it for later.

I walked a bit ahead to grab a spot right at the rope

Then the characters came out

The rope was dropped and we all herded towards Soarin'

Since we were right at the front of the line, I decided we'd ride standby first and grab FPs after. The FP time we got with waiting until after our first ride weren't too bad either.

Even though Stitch had pleaded we wouldn't ride Living with the Land, she actually suggested we go on it next since we were right there. Who am I to object??

But seriously, how can you tire of the nine pound lemon?

And look! People were actually in the lab!!!

We headed over to The Seas to see Nemo and the gang. I finally got another picture in front of this display. I haven't gotten one since my trip in March 2009. There are always way too many people in front of it.

After the ride, we spent quite a bit of time looking around the aquarium

cont'd in next post

This place always makes me feel relaxed. It must be the music and the atmosphere it creates. If I didn't have a schedule to follow, I would spend a whole day just in here.

As we were coming down the stairs from looking at the aquariums with the dolphins, a CM had put a rope across the stairs. It looked as if he was ushering people out. I overheard another CM telling them they had a "situation" which meant they had to clear the building. They wouldn't tell anyone any more than that. We had seen a scuba diver in one of the tanks before we went back down the stairs. Maybe there was a problem with one of the animals?

I thought now would be a good time to grab a FP for TT. The time was still good when we got it around 10:30am

The sun was really starting to get intense so we took refuge with Ellen DeGeneres

b6b046df.jpg

Despite what most people say, I actually like this ride. It's a good chance to take a load off your feet and get a break from the intense heat inside. Plus, you actually learn something too!

Next I thought now was as good a time as any to have Stitch visit Club Cool. You all know what's coming….

Stitch had know idea about Beverly but she's definitely not stupid when I kept bugging her to try it.

The first sip.

49912d1e.jpg

I got nothing! No reaction?! Stitch wondered what all the fuss was about. Then came the next sip.

Bingo!

Her favourite was the one from Israel. After a while in there, with the blasting a/c and lots of fluids, we both had a sudden urge to find a bathroom. I knew there was one right around the corner so we headed that way. We had to go outside first and then turn right into the building again. Going from cold to hot to cold again was not friendly on our bladders!

We still had time before our TT FP so we went into Mouse Gear to pass the time

When we walked into the store, there was a Grumpy shirt hanging right at the front. Stitch pointed at it and said "Hey look, it's Dumpy!" I just about died it was so funny. Stitch realized what she had said and broke into a fit of laughter too. That's where my title came from since now there's a new dwarf called Dumpy (which is what happens when you merge Dopey and Grumpy). That was probably the funniest moment of the whole trip. Although there were a few more…..

I saw this nostalgic shirt. Looking back now I should've bought it

It had all the symbols of the old pavilions. I wish I had seen more of Epcot back in those days. You don't see much merchandise anymore reference back to the old days for us history buffs.

Finally it was time to get on TT.

d30d6292.jpg

We practically walked straight up to the front with our FPs. We were given one of those line time tracker thingies which made us feel special.

d47b7e21.jpg

I wonder how accurate these things really are?

Once we were put in the bullpen, we were right at the front of the doors. Then a whole brazilian tour group came in behind us from the standby line.

180bb264.jpg

See that grey haired dude right behind Stitch? He had no sense of personal space. He kept pushing himself against Stitch and me. They were all very loud and ignorant. Once we went into the briefing room, since none of them understood English, they just talked the entire time. I'm not saying it ruined my experience but for anyone going on the ride for the first time would've been very disappointed. I think Stitch had been on it before so it didn't ruin it for her.

Sadly we got in a car with a bunch of the Brazilians but they were surprisingly quiet the whole time. You could hear crickets if the ride wasn't so loud. Our redneck photo was pretty comical too.

56fb8e70.jpg

Don't they all look so bored?! Lighten up people!

It was getting close to our lunch ADR at Le Cellier so we started to head towards WS.
