I will definitely root for your DD's college team! My husband's uncle and cousin helped to make the Rose Bowl Parade floats for years!

We were out in Calif. several years ago in the summer and got to see them welding the frames for the floats. It was so interesting to see the actual floats six months later with all the flowers on them!

My two kids' college teams play each other next weekend
I think her's will have no problem this year

Thanks Pam and Merriweather. Im getting more and more freaked as time goes on and the weather gets worse. We are hearing thunder now and are about to get hit with a very very strong line of thunderstorms. Looks horrible yellow and red on radar. I hate this I hate this I hate this. I am sooooooo scared of storms and I cant even show it because of the kids. I dont want to scare them.

Karen thinking good thoughts for you! My Mom would of had the couch turned over and us kids shoved underneath it so I think your doing pretty good. The only good thing about being shoved under that hing is that we got to keep the change.

If you have a basement, go there. If not, go to an interior hallway and take your pillows and blankets. Do it now!!!!
As I know now from experience, tornadoes give little to no warning. I would much rather deal with a hurricane. I don't want to scare you, but if they are talking tornadoes, you need to get off this computer, and in a safe interior hallway or bathroom with no windows (if you don't have a basement)

Pam it was none of the above. Actually, it was when you pulled me off the bar when I was dancing that really hurt. Didn't know one little Ya Ya could be so strong. The doctor says the headache from the concussion should be gone in a few days.

Bonnie our house is so small that the interior hallway is right to my left. I have everything ready should we hear anything going on. We are all dressed and have been all day including shoes because of this warning. We dont have basements in Florida I wish we did. Im watching the radar on Noaa and this thing does not look pretty. Lots of yellows and reds. I just want it to be over. I dont do storms well at all. We have a very very small house so getting to a safe point could happen in a matter of seconds. Right now Im trying to get the kids to watch SHREK while I watch the radar. Dh is making dinner. Weve had a lot of rain and wind and some thunder and lightening and the lights have dimmed a few times. Im praying it will pass very quickly.

I have no idea why Im so afraid of storms but I am. The worst was getting caught in hurricane David with NO ONE home. My parents were on vacation up north. I spent the night in the closet on the phone with my dh who was then my DF. His father wasnt happy about me calling at two AM but he is the one that made him come home and have me stay all by myself!

Yeah - sorry about that. And I'm sorry I couldn't retrieve your bra that you wrapped around the bartender's ears. I will say, however, that that was the first time I actually saw a grin extend from ear to ear on a man. Wow - he was one happy camper.

I take it that you didn't need stitches in your head, then, when I "accidently" banged your head" on the counter. Whew - that relieves me. I kinda felt bad about that......

I haven't been here since page 110 and do not know what has been happening but I promise I will get on tonight after we get back. DH and DS are on a college visit and it has been a girl's weekend. We saw Harry Potter last night and I really meant to drop in after we got home but we didn't get home until 12;30 and by then I was really pooped. I did laundry today and then we did some shopping and just got home. Now off to see Kiss Me Kate.
