The last ship that Disney has coming, is it a Wish class ship?

I'm not sure what you mean by the "last" ship.

The Destiny will start sailing soon. That's a Wish-class ship.

The Adventure will start sailing in the winter. That's a ship in its own class.

There's one more Wish-class ship coming later. We don't know what it's called, yet.

There are two Wish-class ships coming to Tokyo in a few years.

Disney has also mentioned three ships of a new class that's smaller than the Dream-class ships, but larger than the Magic-class ships. We don't have any other details, yet.

Adventure- Singapore (New class as it is retro fitted from a line that went bankrupt) - delayed to 2026
Wish #4- Coming to the US (assumed) steel has been cut, sailing in 2027
Wish #5- Going to Japan 2028
3 New Smaller Ships coming in 2029, 2030, 2031

Best guess is due to some ports are starting to or are wanting to limit the number of ships/passengers allowed to dock each day and by having ships that are smaller than the Dream and Triton class ships, but larger than the Magic and Wonder, it will make it easier to still stop at those ports if there are passenger count limits.

Then there are also some people who don't want to be on the larger Dream or Triton class ships, due to their higher passengers counts but will still cruise on the two classics (I'm one of those). We have only been on the two classics and right now I don't see that changing. When they retire the Magic and Wonder, if our only options are the larger Dream and Triton class ships, then DCL will lose us as customers. Our hope is that the new smaller ships will be closer in passenger count to the Magic and Wonder, then the larger ships so we can continue to cruise on DCL.

I'd be thrilled to go on one of those, provided it has a complete loop for walking/running, and has interesting itineraries.

Here is personal opinion and how I came to this conclusion after my last sailing (end of September 2025) and I had conversations with some other guests and crew members. Again, my opinion only!


The Magic and Wonder are 30 years old and while DCL seems to love the larger ships (Dream and above) they are noticing from the comment cards, surveys and various online discussions boards, a percentage of repeat cruisers love the smaller ships. The smaller ships being the Magic and Wonder. This last cruise of mine, I was able to sail concierge and the team all said they same thing, while they don't mind the larger ships, they actually prefer the smaller ships. In addition, I also enjoyed conversations with many other guests I talked to (for some reason this trip I noticed more chatty and upbeat people). Anyway, I think DCL is realizing that eventually the Magic and Wonder will need to be decommissioned and replaced and to keep a group of loyal repeat cruisers happy, the replacements will need to be smaller. Plus, there are some ports that if they are looking at going to in the future, the larger ships are that large and will not be welcomed for that fact. It also makes sense in my opinion to have at least 2 smaller ships as the replacements. Personally, while I have been on the Dream, Fantasy and Wish and they are all good in their own right, I actually prefer the Magic and Wonder.

Again this is my opinion.

Triton uses LNG.

New ships from press release-When in port, the new vessels can rely on shore power technology to turn off their engines and “plug in” to a port’s energy grid to run onboard systems. They will also have the capability and flexibility to operate on a variety of fuels, including hydrotreated vegetable oil and renewable methanol fuels, while remaining adaptable to additional fuel options that become available to the cruise industry.

So flexibility of fuel, ports , add diversification to ships available assuming Wonder/Magic will get retired when these get online.

It gives them more port options. Disney is a popular brand around the world, but many ports outside the Caribbean can't hold megaships.

I would rather sail on the smaller ships. It is a better cruise experience.

One of the things I like about DCL vs. Disney parks is having a Disney experience without the crowds. I have no desire to sail DCL ships larger than Triton class; honestly, that class of ship is too big for my liking.
