The Kids Surprise Trip and Our Winter Weather Escape! ~With LOTS of pictures~

Great updates! Sorry it was ss cold. Did your DH really think you were going to sit in the room all day ? Mk looks empty in your pics, even though Toontown was packed. My DH likes Casey's too.

I don't know what he was thinking!! I guess he knows I hate being cold, so he was trying to be nice. :confused3 But I wasn't letting a little cold weather slow down my Disney trip! :rotfl:

Whew, finally made it over here! Your TR is so great. I can't believe it, we were there the same day and I didn't even know it. What a shame.:sad2: Oh well, next time, right?!

Thanks for stopping by my TR. It is so nice to have these after a trip. I don't know what i'll do when I finish mine!

Welcome! :goodvibes

This is actually my third report since we got back! I did a CBR review and a Dining Report first. Then started my TR! I'm not sure what I'll do either when I'm done!

Hmm I guess I'll just have to start planning the next trip! :cool1:

Wednesday January 21st continued. . .

After lunch we bundled back up and headed back out! First we went over to Tomorrowland and we all rode Buzzlightyear a few times and DS9 and I took a couple of more rides on SpaceMtn. Is it just me or does that thing get rougher every year??? I told DS9 that I think I am getting too old for it! :rotfl: Maybe it will be smoother after the rehab. :confused3 Then we went to Monsters Inc. The kids love that show! After that we stopped and saw Stitch with no wait! Then we went back and hung out in front of the castle awhile and took some funny pics!

I wish I had my photopass CD, I would have some more pictures to share! Maybe it will come next week.

We then headed for the Jungle Cruise. I think we waited maybe 15-20 minutes. DS9 loves the Jungle Cruise! Then we decided it was time for a snack! So of course we stopped at Aloha Isle! :goodvibes I had a Dole Whip Float. DS9 had a vanilla Dole Whip. And DH and DS7 just got drinks. My float was so very yummy! :cloud9: I wish I had one now!

We had planned on staying at MK until our dinner ADR at 1900 Park Fare, but decided after our snack that we would head back to CBR for a few hours to get warmed up and freshen up before dinner.

It lookes so empty that day, we should have gotten there sooner!

It's really a shame your boys are camera shy. :sad1:

 :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Those are some great pictures of DS9 and DS7! :)

It really does look empty in MK! That is a nice change from the sweltering crowds in the summer. Just curious-did you adjust any pre-plans because of the weather? Or did you go with the original plan?

It looks like your family was really enjoying yourselves in all the pictures I've seen. You look relaxed, and not like some people on Disney vacations. Sometimes people (probably me included!) can get so frenzied trying to do and see everything that you stress out! It's nice to chill sometimes......so to speak! ;)

There is a BIG difference between cold at home & cold at Disney. You still do everything when your cold at Disney.LOL

Yes I do believe that SM has gotten rougher I refuse to believe I am getting older LOL.

Your day at MK sounds alot like ours your boys like the same rides as my kids.

Love the Dole Whip we had one everytime we went to MK. We even got a cute pin w/ Chip & Dale holding a Dole Whip Float.:lovestruc

No, we didn't really change any of our plans due to the weather. We left MK a few hours earlier than planned that day, but that's nothing new for us, we usually only make it about a half a day at a time there anyway. We knew from the weather forecast that swimming was going to depend on the weather and we had time to swim on either Fri, Sat, or Sun. And luckily Saturday was very warm and we were able to!!

We try not to get all stressed out at WDW! The first few trips were go go go but now we seem to take each trip at a slower pace. So between that and no sweltering heat this trip was very enjoyable!!:thumbsup2

Welcome Kayte! :goodvibes

I'm glad to hear that it's not just me with the Space Mtn. thing!! :rotfl:

I'm the same way with Space Mountain. It will be closed when we get there is April but I'm not too sad about that. I'll be anxious to ride it after the rehab. Supposedly the SM in Disneyland is much smoother since it was rehabed. :thumbsup2 I used to love it but it is soooo jerky! Alex had me sit behind him and hold his head last time!

Last time BTMRR was closed during our trip - I'd trade SM for BTMRR any day!

I know, after our third ride on SM I told DS9 that if he wants to ride it again he is on his own!! :rotfl:

I really prefer BTMRR, RNRC, and EE, much smoother!

Joining in on the fun! We plan on surprising our DD with this year's trip. We are going for her 6th bday. Now if I can last that long without spoiling the surprise!!!

Love the renovated rooms at CBR. They are super cute! Makes me kinda wish that we decided to stay there. But I'm afraid of how big that place is!!!

Good luck keeping your trip a surprise, it is very hard!! But well worth it in the end! :thumbsup2

We love the new rooms at CBR too! And yes, it is a spacious resort, that's part of it's beauty to us! :cloud9:

Wednesday January 21st continued. . .

So we made a quick trip back to CBR and got warmed up and rested up a bit! Then we headed back out. Took the bus to MK then the monorail to the GF for dinner.

I have always wanted to do a princess meal but living with all boys no one else ever wanted to. But I decided this time we were just doing it and they could all just deal with it!! So I chose 1900 Park Fare hoping that it would be fun for the boys because of the step-sisters. And it was!! They had a blast. DS9 even danced with one of them! Priceless! We thought the buffet was just okay, but really enjoyed the characters.

After dinner we took the monorail back to MK and the bus back to CBR. We stopped at the CBR gift shops before turning in for the night. The CM's were very friendly and the boys enjoyed trading pins with them and shopping.

Love, love, love the 1900 PF dinner. It was one of the highlights of our last trip. It's the only ADR I will definitely be making for our next trip.
