The Kids Surprise Trip and Our Winter Weather Escape! ~With LOTS of pictures~

Loved your dinning report! I am looking forward to your trip report!

Welcome! :goodvibes Hope you enjoy!

Hi Shelly!
Call me crazy but that room would be so much better if the walls were planted like the ocean!!!!!!!!!!!
I like gaughty! I dont really but in Disney I do!
So glad you started a TR. Have you seen my latest installment on mine?

Hey Pam! You're right, walls painted like the ocean would be really cool!

I'll be right over to check out your latest installment! :thumbsup2

Yeah Shelly...I'm in! LOVED the dining report (maybe because food is probably my favorite part of Disney). Keep up the great writing!popcorn::

I am in also..this reading will help my wait time go faster:) I can just absorb all of your adventure...

YAY shelly started her TR...... I'm in for the ride.... but like Jo said yeah keep us entertained until Next May when we all go.....

:)

Tuesday Jan 20th continued. . .

We headed out to the bus stop sometime around 3:00 or so. A MK bus came as soon as we walked up to the bus stop! :cool1: That was the start of a great week of WDW transportation.

We got to MK and were surprised by the crowds. I guess we just thought the place would be empty on a cold January day. :confused3 We went straight to Tomorrowland and rode Buzzlightyear and then DS9 and I went on Space Mtn. while DS7 and DH rode Buzzlightyear again. After that we all met back up and went for a ride on the TTA.

Then it was time to head for the Contemporary for our Chef Mickey's dinner. We decided to take the monorail rather than walking over since it was so chilly out.

Two updates!! I'm glad your ME & check-in experiences were smooth. We'll only be using ME when we leave CBR to go back to the airport.

I can't believe how cold it has been in Orlando over the last month or so... brrrrr!!

I didn't realize walking to the Contemporary from MK was an option - we will be at MK prior to our Chef Mickey's ADR in April - how long does it take to walk??

I'm not sure how long the walk is. Maybe 10 minutes. There's a path. That was our plan but I was way too cold!

Hi Shelley,
Thanks for the link. Love the way you surprised your boys :goodvibes. Your pictures are great. Love CBR, wish I were there now :cloud9:. Sounds like a great first day so far.

Hi Shelley,

Lovin' the report so far. It's definitely helping pass the time before our August trip.

Then we got back on the monorail and made the loop back to MK for Wishes. It was still crowded but not overly crowded.

We mostly stayed in the main street shops shopping and keeping warm until Wishes was about to start. Then we stepped out right to the very middle of main street and had a great spot!

After that we walked out to a CBR bus waiting and were back to the resort in no time. Watched a little TV and news. Had a good laugh when the news was telling people to "please take your children to the bus stop in a vehicle tomorrow morning because the temps will be in the upper 20's and it's too cold to let them stand outside". :lmao: :rotfl2: A January morning at the bus stop here in the 20's is toasty warm!!

Then we turned in early for sweet Disney dreams of what the next 7 days held! :cloud9:

Really enjoying your report!

We are staying at CBR at the end of March for the very first time. This is a surprise trip for my children. My daughter will turn 8 and we will be in MK for her birthday. We are not telling her until the day we are leaving. I'm thinking of using the same method of telling her as you did for your boys at Christmas.

You have some really great pictures here and your report has made me feel so much better about the decision to stay at CBR. We were just at POFQ last year and I wanted something different this time.

You are going to love CBR! :thumbsup2 It is such a great resort! There are lots of people that are going to be visiting this TR to vouch for that! :goodvibes

Thanks! :goodvibes And welcome to my TR!

What a great birthday surprise for your daughter! :yay:

I hope you enjoy CBR as much as we do. Keep in mind that it is much different than POFQ. Go in knowing that it is very spacious and you will be fine! Be sure to take time to enjoy the new pools! :cool1:

Hi Shelly! :wave2: Loving your trip report and all the new pictures! Can't wait to read more. That is so awesome that you met another Dis'er on the plane-did you know beforehand from the Dis that you were going to be on the same flight?

Yep, I met Katiebugsmom on our January planning thread and we figured out we were on the same flight! I also met 2 other people from that thread (Trixiequilts and Dundeehunter) on our trip and one other DISer while in line for BTMtnRR, but I didn't catch her name. She spotted my DH's LGMH on his backpack!

Another Snowbirdie here! Our first stop was Tomorrowland to ride Buzz too...we must have ridden 2 dozen times before we left! Your boys look so excited to be in Disney!
