The Kids Surprise Trip and Our Winter Weather Escape! ~With LOTS of pictures~

Ooooo... a little cliff hanger! My boys don't really know the Star Wars movies and I'm kind of happy about that. If we went to the Jedi Training Academy I'm sure one of them would get picked and not the other! What a nightmare that would be!:headache: They have a lot of trouble when things don't seem fair.

Great updates. 1900 Park fare is so fun for dinner. I like the food way better at breakfast though. Sorry your HS day was so crowded, that stinks. your pics are great and waiting tosee if the boys got picked for Jedi training. My DS4 really wants to do this in May.

I wondered if the food would be better at breakfast. I didn't think the kids would care for the characters at breakfast though, so I guess that's why we went with dinner. Oh yeah, and I wanted to finally meet Cinderella!

I hope your DS gets chosen for the Jedi Training in May! :wizard: :darth:

Yes, be happy about that!! My kids are obsessed with Star Wars! :rolleyes2 All it took was one friend to introduce it to them a couple of years ago and they were hooked!

Ooohhh...I know the answer to the cliffhanger!

But I'll never tell. :rolleyes1

I was worried about my girls totally overwhelming your boys. It was wonderful that the boys were so outgoing and weren't afraid of my DDs! :rotfl2: They really had a ton of fun together!

The girls really liked the boys Star Wars pins. :thumbsup2

Is that where I asked you if you thought the park was really busy? I was terrified that those really were low crowds...because they sure didn't feel like low crowds!!! :scared:

I know the kids had the best time together that day!! :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Yeah I think I do remember you asking me if it seemed crowded to me! :rotfl: I think I said something like - YES I'VE NEVER SEEN IT THIS CROWDED BEFORE EVER

Alrighty Ms. Cliffhanger- I'm all caught up and waiting for the rest of the story!
Snap to it! Hurry, hurry!

Thursday January 22nd continued. . .

So we made our way back to the Jedi Training Academy for another try! It was about 1:15 or so and the next show started at 1:30. There were already people everywhere. Which was not surprising given the crowds that day. So we had to stand off to the far left (looking towards the stage). I thought -oh great they'll never get picked clear over here. :sad2: Eventually the show got started and all the kids were doing the usual - jumping up and down and shouting PICK ME PICK ME PICK ME!!! Even though the temp was in the mid 60's that day we were in the shade and it was still a bit chilly. But I made the kids take off their jackets so the Jedi Master could see their Star Wars shirts. They even took off their lanyards! So they were jumping up and down and shouting. The Jedi Master started to pick kids from the middle, and from the right side, and then the middle again. It wasn't looking good. Then he headed to the left side of the stage. And it happened!! He said - "You and you in the black shirts" and pointed at the boys!! :yay: :yay: At this point I was jumping up and down!! The kids were so excited and ran up on stage!

They went through the Jedi Training and then it was time for Darth Vader to make his grand entrance. :darth: Then each child gets to take a turn battling him! DS9 was in the middle of the kids and DS7 somehow ended up towards the back of the line. DS9 of course had to put on quite the show and do a spin and jump while battling Darth Vader. Always has to be the star of the show! The audience clapped and cheered for him. :cheer2: Eventually DS7 got his turn. I think he was a little intimidated. He just did what he was supposed to, and not any extra! :rotfl:

Now the kids had battled the evil Darth Vader and got their Jedi Training Academy Certificates and they were just thrilled!! :cloud9:

I wish I had my photopass pics. There are some great JTA pics on there with some really cool borders. Maybe in a few days!

They got picked!!! Yay!!!

Oh, I'm so glad they got picked!! I don't even know what the jedi Training Academy is and I'm excited! :lmao: Is that something new that they do?

The only time my DS & DD were chosen for something was the backlot tour, and now I can't even remember if it was our last trip or the time before. But it was so funny!

Loving all the pictures! :thumbsup2

Great update! I'm glad they finally got chosen. Do you think they choose siblings together so as not to ruin the magic of Disney? :confused3

Thanks! :goodvibes

I think they started doing the JTA in 2007 as part of the Year of a Million Dreams and it was so popular they have continued it!

DH was chosen for the Backlot Tour last May! It was hilarious!! It was closed for refurbishment when we were there this time. :sad2:

Now that's just cruel. How can you chose one kiddo (unless there is a huge age difference) over another???

Last May DS9 got chosen and DS7 did not. It was very sad. But he handled it very well. Had it been the other way around it would not have gone so well.

So this time we were determined to go until DS7 got chosen. If DS9 would have gotten chosen alone he was prepared to give up his spot for his brother.

Luckily they both got to experience it together!

oh my god Well Done boys

Would love to see a video of your eldest battling Darth. Am looking forward to seeing those photopass pics

As an adult, do you think if i jump around enough i'll get picked:rotfl2:
