The Kids Surprise Trip and Our Winter Weather Escape! ~With LOTS of pictures~

I'm soooo going to miss reading your report. I guess once you're done, I'll have to move on to another.:headache:

I'm not sure what I am going to do once it is done. :confused3 First I did my CBR review, then the dining report, and now the TR. I may go into serious Disney depression when I'm done here!

Guess I'll just have to start planning the next trip. . . :rolleyes1

Can't wait til you get back and I can hear how a CBR lover likes POP! :cool1:

Wow! Epcot was packed that night!! I hope the next day at Epcot is a little better. :confused3

I'll miss your reports when they are done too - I've read them all and they have been great! :thumbsup2

Monday January 26th. . .

Today was our Epcot day. We had planned on being there at rope drop, but got there about 5 minutes late. It was a beautiful sunny day (got up to 82 degrees)! :goodvibes The first thing we did was go into the Character Spot because last May everytime we went in there the line was huge and barely moved, so we always ended up leaving. So at about 9:05-9:10 the line was only about a 10 minute wait!

So we breezed through there are got to see Mickey, Pluto, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy.

Here are some of my pictures ~

Monday January 26th continued. . .

It was now about 9:30. From there we headed right for Soarin. The wait said 30 minutes. So we got some fastpasses for later and got in the stand-by line. We only actually waited about 20 minutes. Soarin was wonderful as always. After that we went over to the Seas and rode the Nemo ride with no wait. Very cute, as always. And then it was onto Journey Into Imagination with Figment. We hadn't done that one since 2005, and I have to say that we really weren't any more impressed than we were back then. :confused3 It was just okay.

After that we headed over to Mission Space. Last year we all went through the line and DS7 (6 then) chickened out at the last minute, so him and DH left DS9 and I to ride alone. We rode the "green" version. It was very tame but I did not care for the confined space much and had no intention of riding it again. Well wouldn't you know it DS7 decides that he wants to ride it this time. So I went through the line with them thinking that he would chicken out again and this time I would take him out and leave DH to ride with DS9. Well, he did not chicken out this time! And I didn't want to disappoint the kids, so I went on. OH MY GOSH, I will never do that again! I got all hot and sweaty and seriously thought I was going to pass out. I kept thinking that when that harness bar thingy opens up at the end I am going to be passed out and I will just fall out of my seat. And DH was clear on the other side, we had the kids between us. :sad2: I'm getting a little light headed just thinking about it now. :scared: Not sure what it was, the green version is very tame like I said. Guess I am just very claustrophobic and never really realized it until then. I will never be back on Mission Space!

BTW ~ the rest of the family enjoyed Mission Space very much!

After that horrible experience the line for Test Track was pretty long, so we got some fastpasses and started our way around World Showcase.

"DS9. Well, he did not chicken out this time! And I didn't want to disappoint the kids, so I went on. That ride is a centrifuge. Have you seen one? It is that thing that spins you around when you want to become an astronaut. Where your face makes weird shapes. I spins you really fast and then completely stops. That is where you feel weightless. Barf Barf. You probably pull 4 G's or so. No thanks. I will NEVER go on that and I am a helicopter pilot!!!!

I know what you mean about that confined space feeling. I'm getting that panicky feeling right now just reading about your panicky feeling! :rotfl2: It's the knowing that you can't get out if you want to that does it to me. When we went in 2006, my DH definitely didn't want to ride it-he gets motion sickness really bad over anything that spins, and he didn't know what he would be getting himself into. My DS and DD were a little scared too, not knowing what it was like. So.....Mom volunteers to try it out and report back to them. I also did the green version, and I did fine as well as I can remember. I guess I didn't let my mind go to that "I can't get out" place! Anyway, I talked DS and DD into going with me the next time, and they did fine. But no one wanted to go again, like we do on all our favs! I was really curious about the orange version, but I didn't want to risk feeling bad the rest of the day.

I love all the pictures at the Character Spot. I think my favorite is the one of the whole family with Pluto. Of course, the one with all of you and Mickey is good, too, and the boys with Donald, and.....oh heck, they're all great!

So sorry that your TR is coming to an end. I've enjoyed reading it so much! How did you remember everything so well? Did you jot things down along the way or as soon as you got back home? Whatever you did, it was great! :thumbsup2

Actually the green version doesn't spin. And it still made me feel ill!  I can't even imagine the orange version. :sad2:

I don't do spiny rides! I can do high and fast and upside-down, but not spinning!! :confused3 So I would never even attempt the orange version.

I have a pretty good memory, but when I do forget I have all my pictures to keep everything in order for me! I knew there was a reason I took 650+ pictures on this trip! :rotfl:

Glad you are still enjoying the TR! :goodvibes

I am still:rotfl2: after reading your update on Mission Space. I still have to do that ride. My oldest is 7, so this year I will probably end up doing it. As long as no one passes gas before I get into a small confined space, I am ok.

We went up in the St. Louis Arch about 8 years ago, and those elevators you get in are tiny. Anyway, the person that got out before I got in had apparently had a bad stomach ache. The little egg carton confined elevator smelled horrible and there was no where for that smell to escape. Plus it took a long time to get to the top of the arch where you get out. The smell was so horrible that my stomach started cramping just from smelling it. :rotfl: It is funny now, but it was sick back then. I will never go back to the Arch again just because of that horrible memory.

Still loving the TR. I don't want it to end.popcorn::

Oh gosh I couldn't imagine if it had smelled in there! Being in such a tight enclosed space knowing that I couldn't get out if I needed to was bad enough!!

Glad you are still enjoying the TR!

Monday at Epcot was better than Sunday night. Still more crowded than I would have liked or expected for January, but not terrible!

Still reading along and waiting for more!

Glad you're still reading along! :goodvibes

I just joined, and I think your trip report is great! It's fun to see how much fun y'all are having. :goodvibes

:lovestruc
Seriously.
That picture says it all.:goodvibes

It says-
"I'm in the bestest place I've ever been".

It says--
"I don't think I'll ever forget this moment".

It says--
"I hope I always feel this way."

It says...
"One day I'll have a wife and I'll feel 100x more love for her than I feel for Minnie-- and that's saying a lot."

And most of all-
it says-
"I don't want to grow up."

So I'm a being blubbering idiot right now----- but that's okay.:goodvibes

It is wonderful.

:goodvibes

It reminds me so much of the vision stuck in my head of Belle walking hand in hand with Mickey on the way to his house.

I love that memory.
