The Kids Surprise Trip and Our Winter Weather Escape! ~With LOTS of pictures~

The parade sure looked like more fun than our wait for Tink. Your boys really wouldn't have liked that wait! :scared:

Thanks for trying to call us, nonetheless. We would have loved to watch with you (and it was our original plan to see it that night). I'm glad you all really enjoyed it!

No, they don't like to wait for things that they like, so I couldn't imagine them waiting to see Tink and the fairies! I really thought about doing it though, just because I wanted to see them! :rotfl:

Sorry you missed the parade. Gives you an excuse to go back though! :thumbsup2 Took us 4 trips until we got to see it.

Love the pictures of the speco parade! We didn't get to see it this past August. We were there when the bridge was closed and they weren't having the parade. It's on the top of my list of things to see when we go back!

Thanks for the picks of Poly Shelly! I love that resort.

Yeah I love the Poly! :cloud9: So beautiful!

YAY ~ Something to look forward to next time ~ Spectro! :woohoo:

Saturday January 24th continued. . .

After Spectro we walked out of MK to a waiting CBR bus! We were back to the resort in no time. We went back to the room for a little bit and then went out to the Jamaica beach to watch IllumiNations. We went out around 8:30 and the kids played on the playground and fed the ducks on the beach while DH and I relaxed on a hammock. Around 9:00 IllumiNations started. We could hear most of it and see the higher up fireworks. Very nice!

Sunday January 25th. . .

Today was the kids Islands of the Caribbean Pirate Cruise Adventure! pirate:

It started at 9:30am at the CBR Marina. There were 9 kids total going on the cruise that day. The kids were greeted by 2 CM's and told all the rules and got bandannas and then they all loaded onto the boat and headed off!

DH and I watched the boat for awhile and then just hung out at the resort and eventually went for an early lunch at the food court & ate outside and got done just as the kids were getting back.

These are the pictures I took of the pirate cruise ~

The kids had a really good time on the cruise and talked about it all day! :yay: :yay:

After that we headed out to DTD!

Shelly. Thank You for making such wonderful TR, DR, and CBR review. I am so glad that I changed my thoughts on where to stay. DH and I first discussed staying on site at a value resort with the thinking that...is just a place to sleep. When the 4/3 deal came out I looked into a Moderate since would be close to the same budget we planned for this vacation. OHHH MYYYY OHHHH MYYYY I am so glad I did. We are booked in a Pirate Room in CBR in June. It is going to be a beautiful relaxing place before, after, and in between our park hopping. The Island Theme is gonna be like getting 2 vacations in one!
IS IT JUNE YET?

Great Spectro pictures! :thumbsup2

That's great that you got to see Spectro & Illuminations in the same night!! :cool1:

Looks like the boys had fun on the pirate cruise. pirate:

Sunday January 25th continued. . .

After the Pirate Cruise we got ready and headed for DTD again since I wasn't feeling so well when we were there on Friday. We had a much better time this time! We did lots of walking around and lots of shopping. And we stopped at Goofy's Candy Co. to pick up a few snacks on the way out!

When we got to DTD I realized that I had forgotten my camera. But luckily DS9 had his! So these pictures aren't great, but at least we got some!

Lovin' the trip report! I've said it several times.....trip reports get me through to the next WDW vacation!

Sunday January 25th continued. . .

After our day at DTD we went back to CBR to drop off our packages and get ready to go to the Boardwalk. We are kind of interested in staying at the Swan or Dolphin someday, so we wanted to go check them out. We took a bus from CBR to DHS, then a boat from DHS to the Swan/Dolphin, and we were there in no time! They are very nice and we really liked them. We will probably stay there sometime in the future.

We didn't have a dinner ADR on this day, but had planned to either go to Big River Grille or Beaches & Cream, since neither of them take reservations. We thought that B&C might be too much like the Plaza, so we went with BRG. We went early because we had heard that it is much easier to get in the earlier you go. It was about 4:30 and I could see that there wasn't much of a wait, so we went a did a little window shopping along the Boardwalk and then went back in about a half an hour to eat. BRG is right on the waterfront on the Boardwalk. Great location, great atmosphere, and great food! We will definitely be going back there to eat again!

After dinner we decided to take a leisurely stroll over to Epcot and do a ride or two. We were spending most of the next day at Epcot, but just thought since we were right there and it was so nice out (about 80 that day) we would go ahead and walk over for a bit.

Sunday January 25th continued. . .

So we got over to the back entrance of Epcot and I could see right away that it was pretty crowded and this was probably a mistake. We made our way into Future World and the wait times said 60 or 70 for Soarin (I forget) and 30 for Test Track. So we decided to do one quick trip on TT and then head back to CBR for the evening. Well as soon as we walked into the TT line I said to DH - there is no way this is 30 minutes - more like 60+. And unfortunately I was right. :sad2: The line was long, but I could see that the main problem was that the fastpass line was pretty long too. I'm sure everyone who got a fastpass that day was coming back to use it at that time. Therefore the stand-by line moved very slow. It was crowded and loud and none of us were too happy. But once we got on TT all of our unhappiness seemed to go away!

I am way far behind! I have pages and pages to catch up on tonight

Oh, darn... popcorn::

I will say that I saw Jo's post about the MAYers super secret spectro spot - and I went thru my PM's and I found it!!!!! I will definately try it in May! :woohoo:

I'm kinda hoping that Prince Charming delivers on Jo's promise and asks me out on a date. :rolleyes1

:rotfl2:

It took me a minute to figure out where you were in the car...you look just like a little kid! I hope you take that as a compliment, because I totally would! I'd love for someone to mistake me as a little anything. :lmao:

 Thanks! I don't think I did much with my hair and make-up that day, so I probably didn't look so great!!

That reminds me - the day we were at DTD we stopped at a pin trading cart and DS7 said something to me like - hey mom look at this. . . The CM there said to me - did he call you mom? I said um yeah. . . The CM said - I thought you were his sister! :lmao: Okay, I know I am short and I might look younger than I am, but COME ON!! DH wasn't impressed, the CM was a young guy! :rotfl:
