The "I've Waited My Whole Life" Christmas Suprise Trip Report-Final/Video Update 2/21

And get those wet noodles ready. Today is the 11th, one month from my first post and I am supposed to be done. I am not done. :sad2: I am about to write Thursday day and that still leaves Thursday night and Friday. So I failed. I'm sorry. I'll be a few days longer than I'd hoped. I hope you faithful readers can forgive me!
Listen, you're still far ahead of me, and my trip ended 12/6, so you'll get no reprimand from my camp! :rotfl:

He then told us the fastest way to get there (wait at the rope for Dinoland, cut through and over the bridge).
Now, does this only work if you're already in the park from Bfast? I kept trying to figure out an alternate route for the rope drop, but failed miserably!

Me: This is a very loud, very dark ride and there are dinosaurs that will look like they want to eat you but they are fake. Do you want to go?
Goofy: I'm not scared of anything.
Me: Okay, you will remember these dinosaurs are fake right?
Goofy: Yup
Me: So you want to go on?
Goofy: Let's go.
You are my hero! I have the hardest time both judging whether my DS is ready for a ride and explaining a potentially scary ride to him without making him afraid to ride it. You worded it just right. Mind if I plagerize for our next trip? ;)

We kept walking, enjoying the sights. Til we came across something I have never seen before on a public walking trail in a theme park. Mom holding up child who looks to be maybe 3 so that said child can pee on the side of the walking trail.  Hello? How could someone do that? I have kids. I know kids have to go but my gosh just drop her drawers, lift her up and let her go right there? No no no. Pick her up and speed walk and get her to a bathroom. I was just dumbfounded. My kids were like all wide eyed and "Moooom is she..." "Yes let's go, keep walking"
I've read more reports on the same thing happening this year - I don't get it :confused3 Is this a new trend? Are all the cool parents doing it? Bizarre, really.

Lunch was great! It was nice to eat "real" food for a CS. ....The green beans were exceptional! We all loved our meal here, it was the best CS all week.
I love TH so much, I think it's the primary reason we keep going back to AK! Those green beans are so good, it's scary.

Stay tuned for our last night in the World and a much looked forward to dinner!
OH NO!! The end is in sight... :guilty:

The rope dropped and we had been instructed not to run. So we obeyed and speed walked. Belle kept up and the other family said "Wow your Mom walks fast!". Past the new Nemo show, walking, walking. Past Everest itself! We got to the front and immediately got FPs, they were for 10:05am. We got in line and were like 20-30 people back. CMs were announcing that the ride was not open yet so we just hung tight and watched the FP area swarm and flood with people and the return time just kept ticking later and later. It was amazing really.

This was our EXACT experience on Thanksgiving day. In fact, I'm getting ready to write that installment of my TR, so I might just plagarize this!! :lmao:

We too, enjoyed the Donald Breakfast, but the characters were rushed. Of course, so were we. We were there only to be strategically placed for EE. :thumbsup2

I love your report and I'm sad it's getting close to the end.

Thanks for sharing your trip with us!

I really enjoy reading your trip report!!!! Can't wait for the other installments!

what am i going to do when you are done with your TR? :confused3

You are doing such a great job at writing it out. I feel like I was there with you guys and not just sitting on the other end of the computer. :surfweb:

Can't wait for the next installment! :rolleyes1

I'm enjoying each part of your report! Keep it coming! I learn something from each person's report even though I've been before.

Allyson I have really enjoyed reading this trip report. Your kids are adorable and don't worry that it's taken you longer than a month! I have enjoyed tuning in every couple of days for installments! It's been fun and I look forward to the ending! I see from your ticker that you already have another trip planned. Good for you!:yay:

What a great installment, Allyson! It's really wonderful that you and your daughter got some 'one-on-one' time at AK and Donald's! I'm sure it's time with you that she'll remember forever! I can't believe your TR is almost over! I've really enjoyed reading it! Thank you so much for sharing your WDW adventure with us!

Marking this thread. I plan on a trip to Disney this Christmas as a surprise for my daughter.

LOVE your trip report!! Can't wait for more....popcorn::

You have absolutely the cutest kids, ever!!

The video is absolutely PRICELESS. :lmao:

I am loving your TR and am sad to see it come to an end. Our families are very similar... Grumpy is SOOOOOO much like my husband it is scary!

Thanks for the great attention to detail. I look forward to reading morepopcorn::

I really enjoyed reading your trip report.

We went in july of 2006, same age of kids, 9, 7, and 4.

My 9 year old didn't care about acting too old for Disney, which I was thrilled about. He doesn't talk about it at school, but at home, he LOVES Disney. The split personality is very cute. (Not that I would call a now 10 year old cute, that would be terrible)

We're planning a trip to Disneyland in 2008, but also, secretly planning on surprising the kids with a trip to Disney World from Santa, either this Christmas or next Christmas.

Thanks to you MomofCKJ my husband is actually up for the idea of going to Disney World:cheer2: . We loved the idea of you giving the trip to your kids for Christmas. We decided we are going to surprise our boys in March in 2009 for their birthdays and tell everyone to give them $$ and we are also going to ask for $$ for our birthdays and Christmas next year to help pay for expenses. We both read you whole trip report in one day took about 1 1/2 hours each, but it was worth it. My husband loves your trippie, he said he feels like he has known your family for years.:rotfl: First trippie he has ever read. Thank you for the ideas, can't wait for the end of your trippie. Thank you again. :cheer2:

Before you read I will do my version of the Trip Report Promise (I was a Girl Scout long ago). *ahem* Raising right hand “On my honor, I will try, to write a good trip report, tell you the good, the bad and the ugly and most importantly get it done in less than a month, start to finish”.
I always get sad when I find a trippie I like, get to know the cast, follow their travels, wait each day for more and then months later it is still only half done and I have forgotton who is who. I am going to try not to let that happen with this one!

I hope the reason we have not heard from you is...you are out selling Girl Scout cookies....we miss you! Come back and finish...PLEASE!

Allyson, Harry here from becky521. Great TR. I have been reading a few post each day trying to get them all in. I hope you have had as much fun as I have doing mine. It is really theraputic isn't it. Also I have to say Becky told me how cute your little ones are and I have to agree. The little guy is going to break some hearts some day.:thumbsup2

Great trip report! I love all the pictures to go along with it, your kids are so cute! Oh, and I was excited when you gave Scuttles Landing a shout out. I used to work there when I did the college program :cool1: And aren't those cream cheese pretzels absolutely delicious? I can't wait to get one of those when I'm back there in March. Anyway, great TR and I can't wait to read more :goodvibes

I just spent an hour, yes an hour, on an installment and when I went to post it, poof it was gone. Somehow it had logged me out and instead of posting it asked me for my log in. Then once I did, gone. So frustrating.

I will try again but might get only half through the night as it is getting late and I need my beauty sleep!

Thanks for asking about me faithful readers! I am so sorry for the delay. Just a crazy busy week and yes I have been selling GS Cookies! Belle and Bashful are both GS and so we have been trying to sell sell sell. I also think subconsciously I don't want to finish this because when I do, then what? The trip is over, the trippie will be over and it will be too soon to really plan much of our next trip. *sigh*

So we left with us getting on the bus to Epcot. We had a 7pm ADR at Le Cellier. I had hoped for an earlier one but this was all I could get. I knew I was pretty lucky just to have one.

We arrived and headed to the Imagination Pavilion. There was no line for the Figment ride and so we hopped on. I used to like the old ride, the one with the catchy song "Imagination, Imagination, A Dream, A Dream, A Dream Come True, For Me and You". My kids, they don't know the old ride so they have nothing to compare it to. They liked this one, esp the smell part. I thought it was cute and was glad to hear the old song get a shout out towards the end. Figment though, what is it about Figment? He is sort of like the distant freakish second cousin to the Disney characters I think. He is not as cute, not as cuddly, doesn't have as great a personality. Sorry Figment, you just never really caught on with me.:figment:

We exited and as we entered the play area or whatever you call it a Kodak show was just starting about digital photography. Bashful was picked to be an assistant and got to put on a white lab coat and some goofy glasses. She looked cute in a funny way. I have pictures I will add soon, they are on the PC, I am on the laptop, it is Thursday and I just watched The Office and now Grey's Anatomy is on, you know the drill. We got a digital photo of her as a keepsake and she had fun taking part. Very unlike her, she is usually so shy, but she came out of her shell a bit on this trip.

Then we found those machines where you take a picture and can send an email card with it. We did those for a little bit, each kid wanted to make one of course. The Grandmas were the lucky recipients and I think we had one kid that looked like a tiger, one a flower and one might have been a monkey.

We started to walk towards World Showcase. It was very dark and the lights were all on. I have to say it again, Epcot at Christmas at night is so beautiful! The path we were on was quite dark though, very hard to see where you were going. We meandered our way over to Canada and even though it was only 6:30pm we tried to check in. We were told to come back at 7pm. The place was hopping and there were a lot of people waiting to check in and coming and going. Popular spot for sure!

We went over to the Kidcot station. The kids started yet another mask. We had forgotton to bring our very pathetic masks that had only Mexico on them. Here they started new ones that would end up with only Canada on them. Grumpy and I pulled up a bench and relaxed while they colored. The CM working was very friendly and chatty. She had only been there 2 weeks and seemed to be enjoying her job.

It was close to 7pm so we tried to check in again and were given the OK. We sat in the waiting area to, well, wait. We saw numerous people being turned away who had no ADRs. We saw some begging too. "But it is our last night, is there anything you can do?". Ummm, nope. The CMs were quite nice about it but there was no room at the inn tonight. I heard Biergarden being offered up a few times as a suggested alternative.

Goofy approached me and in a quiet voice, thank goodness, said to me "Is it inappropriate to say someone has a big bum?". I looked up and at the check in was a woman with a rather big bum, and well to my little Goofy it just might have been the biggest bum he would have ever seen in his short 4 years. Thank goodness for his unusually quiet voice and the loud din of the filled to capacity restaurant, said lady could not have heard him. I told him that yes it was in fact inappropriate and tried to distract him to something else. Embarassing moment averted. Phew!

A nice CM came over to my kids and started playing 20 Questions with them to guess the Disney character. It was nice of her and helped my kids pass the time. Then it was our time! It had only been a 10-15 minute wait, not long at all.

We were seated in a corner. If you are standing at the check in desk and look to your right and over the half wall, we were right down there. Our server was friendly and efficient without making us feel rushed. She explained the menu and the DDP and told us we could get shakes and smoothies, even the kids.

Now I had the whole night written out the first time but I have to stop here. I am sorry! I will finish the rest of our Le Cellier evening tomorrow so please check back!

Thank you faithful readers for sticking with me! We are almost done! :sad2:

Allyson
