The "I've Waited Forever to Go Solo" Mom's Leaving Everyone Behind Trip! Updt 3/11

I also did my first picture of a meal for you readers. Food porn, I've crossed to the dark side.

:cool1:

I had it sent to my resort and crossed it off my Christmas shopping list.
I love finding gifts randomly. :thumbsup2

I also had brought along my Lost Journals of Walt Disney World book. I had it with me and sat down on a bench and started working on it. I have to say I really love this book. It has neat trivia and bits of info in it, Hidden Mickeys and such. It is a lot of fun to look for the items.

Your book sounds really interesting. A friend and I have been going on Tuesdays when she's off work. What a fun thing for us to do.

I didn't feel like waiting so I decided to go use my ToT FP. It was fun as always but not as good as the first time. We had so many ups and downs that first time.
You're right. The first ride of the day is always the best. Wonder why? :confused3

I walked over to ToT to use my last FP. I was in line behind two British children, they were 10 and 12 and were alone for the ride. They were so sweet! They started chatting with me, mostly the girl. She had the most charming accent. She had never ridden and was quite nervous. She asked me if I had been on and if it made your tummy flip? So cute. I told her my son rode when he was 4 and loved it so I thought she would be just fine. She asked me if I had children and where were they? So I told her about my kids, their ages and that I was here by myself. She wanted to know where I was from, did I fly there, was Boston far away. It was just a delightful wait in line chatting with these two. Such polite tweens!
This is when you want the parents around to tell them what good kids they have. :goodvibes

and I laid down and took a little nap before my dinner at Kona!
Naps are good! :thumbsup2

:rotfl:
Sometime last year before our trip I was trying to find the "Food Porn" thread, so I did a search for it. One day DH was on the computer searching for something on Yahoo that must have had the word "food" in it...and "Food Porn" came up as a previous search. He asked me "were you searching for Food Porn on the computer...and what the h*ll is that?" I told him and he just walked away, shaking his head, muttering to himself about crazy people on the internet. :lmao:

This book sounds great!

I went back to the Animator's Studio again and my timing was just off. It was just too long till the next show and are you getting the idea that I don't feel like waiting around today? :goodvibes So I gave up on the idea of drawing today.

Too bad you didn't get in...but isn't it great that you could just change your plans on a whim and not have to worry about whining?! :thumbsup2

I wanted to yell to these people entering "Sounds Dangerous" DON'T DO IT! LOL!

Worst...attraction...ever!

I walked over to ToT to use my last FP. I was in line behind two British children, they were 10 and 12 and were alone for the ride. They were so sweet!

About time you ran into some nice people! It's good to hear that there are some left in the World. :)

I'm making a list for my own solo trip now - not sure when it will happen - but thanks for the inspiration!

Oh my...tooo funny!!!

Sounds like you had a relaxing day at DHS compared to MK!

We just got back a few days ago and we fortuntately didn't encounter any crazy rude people. I did warn my kids though before we headed to the parks for the first day that people sometimes get way too excited, uptight and can't control themselves and you may see and hear some rude things. Just try to ignore it and let it roll off so it doesn't ruin our day! Even though we have been there numerous times, it's a good reminder. I just don't understand why people behave that way. I myself have been at the receiving end too many times at WDW and mostly MK. It's a sad thing!

Hopefully, you won't run into anymore!

Yay, what a nice relaxing day at Hollywood Studios!! :cool1:

I totally agree with about Sounds Dangerous... Don't do iiiiit! I almost fell asleep in there. In fact, maybe I did, for a few minutes. :rolleyes1

Looking forward to hearing about Kona! I saw the thread on the dining board where someone spotted you - amazing!! What a small world! :)

Its terrible how inappropriately those people acted. I always feel bad for the CMs when I see people yelling at them for doing their job. And continuous, loud, swearing in a place intended for families and children is inexcusable. They really should have security to deal with people like that.:sad2:

I like your reaction to the first incident, find some chocolate.

Your pictures are beautiful.

Sounds relaxing and easy traveling alone.

I really hope we make it to One Man's Dream next trip. I would love to see it.

great update Allyson! Can't wait to hear about your dinner at Kona... Pop looks so cool, my kids would love that I think...

Sorry that the animator's studio was always a bit crowded! I love your explaination of waiting at the TOT with the British tweens, how cute! I agree with your assessment of ABC commisary...good NOT great! When we stayed at Pop we were directly across from you appear to have stayed, I LOVED the 50's. I am excited to hear what you thought of Kona!popcorn::

I'm finding your solo trip really interesting.I don't know if I could do a solo trip but I definitely dream of a trip to Disney WITHOUT kids and I don't even feel guilty about it.Hopefully someday it will happen.Good on you for doing something for yourself!!!!

Two updates to catch up on! :thumbsup2 I found it funny you saw crazy IASW man again. :rotfl:

You seem to end up in line by a lot of British people. :confused3

Cool that you got your coffee in DHS!

Oh boy. You've crossed to the dark side w/ the food porn. ;) Did you try to get into Tune In Lounge or was that for another day? Can't wait to hear about Kona!! I'm so glad you got to spend some time in One Man's Dream. I am just fascinated by it. I wonder though how they could have found his desk from elementary school. :confused3

Hey Allyson!

I just got caught up and I have to say that you are making the solo trip look more and more enticing!! ;) It is great how you are just doing whatever you feel like, and skipping things if you don't feel like it. That would be heaven... :cloud9:

I'm very much looking forward to reading about Kona!

You're so brave for going by yourself! I can't believe the behavior of IASW man. It's really too bad a CM didn't step in.

I just spent the last two days reading through your report. I have really been enjoying it! I've been pondering going solo eventually and can't wait to hear more about your trip!

I had written most of a comment-post about your last entry, but alas, my browser froze and you know how that goes. LOVED it, though. You OK there? Has life taken over? We NEED to know how the rest of your Studios day went! I ask myself - what kind of NEED is it? Biological? Medical? Nutritional? Delusional? Nasal? Psychological, most likely. :flower3:

You're going to think there's an echo in here, but I wondered as well: Was that the "Mama Melrose or Tune-in debate falls by the wayside for a quick burger" lunch? Or was the MM vs. T-I later?

Sounds like a nice end to your DHS day ~ I can't wait to hear about your dinner at Kona ~ I hope you take more food porn pics :):):)

Eagerly awaiting another update...popcorn::

:)

I'm coming back I promise! I am usually super good about doing quick installments, I hate trippies left unattended. Just been a nutty week of getting in the school groove, soccer (I'm coaching Goofy's team again), work and officially starting training for the Half. I've been a bit disheveled lately but I aim to get an installment up by lunchtime tomorrow! Girl Scout Promise!

Allyson :)
