The Irish are going to Disneyland.

I wanted to show these last night but I couldn't get the pictures off my phone.. Around now I always start looking out for bits for holidays because living in Ireland and going on holidays in November means it's all winter stuff in then anyways one of the thngs I need for this year is new trainer socks and found super cute Minnie Mouse ones the other day:

Also for passing my piano exam Momma bought me a little pressie. She got me chocolates, candles and a balloon and this dude:

Super cute

Thanks. I love the socks. I think I may hide them so I don't wear them out before the trip :rotfl: Was actually thinking of doing that with some of my disney clothes as well or I'll end up having to buy new tops before the trip I wear them that much. :lmao:

Just thought I would also congratulate you! I have totally thought I had sub'd but then realized I never did and never commented.

Love the socks and the grumpy piano player is just too darn cute!

Thanks and thanks :) I love my little grumpy. Can't display him yet though. We're getting the room done up and Momma is buying a new piano and stuff and he's going to live on the piano then :goodvibes

Suggest a counter service place to eat.. I know I want to try Hungry bear and Flo's but where else is a good counter service wise to try.... I pretty much like any thing that doesn't have fish or onions and Momma likes "Proper" food. Flo's stuff like a meat, potatoes and veg are what Momma deems "proper" food!

Also where is good in DTD to eat?

and Surf's up or Minnie's breakfast?

Emma-still reason and following (although I do better with you on fb). So excited about possible tour!!!

Dl- I would try jolly holiday or plaza. (Both these are on our list for August) For more of a Cajun flavor there is French market. Royal street veranda has good soups in a bread bowl not to mention it is where one of my all time favorite snacks is (fritters with fruit dipping sauce). You could try river belle terrace, but I was not a huge fan.

DCA- I know it isn't exactly "proper food". But paradise garden grill has Mediterranean meat skewers that come with a special dipping sauce. I could not decide on one so the server gave me a little of each kind. Yum!

Dtd- unless you go to Ralph Brennan's express or la brea bread express you are looking at table service. I do love Ralph Brennan's express for beignets though. Yum!

I'm still trying to figure out tours. There isn't enough information on anything for me and I want to have time to get a pin traders sundae in the Soda Fountain store in LA at some stage as well.

Plaza I've heard good things about their chicken so might try that :) I think Momma might like the meat skewers thing she was willing to try the meatball subs in Portobellos in Florida before she doesn't like the whole chips and burgers all the time thing though.

Ralph Brennan's sounds like it should be Irish... Is there anything Irish in Disneyland like Raglan Road in Florida or even in Anaheim. We always think it's funny we go on holidays to "see the world" but yet the first place Irish people always search for is the Irish pub :rotfl:

Well, I don't know that it is the same type of meatball. They are heavily spiced - like you would find at tangerine cafe in WDW. Only not the pressed meat on a spit type deal.

:rotfl: I have never quite got that either. Sounds Irish to me too. As for an actual restaurant... I know that things have been changing a lot down there. Not only is there the DTD area but there is garden walk. None of these have an irish place. (the DLR area seems to focus a lot on Cajun food) There is a place called twisted kilt down on Katella. It is far to far to walk... and I do not believe it is on the ART. So you would be looking at a car of your own or taxi to get there. I know NOTHING about it...other than it is probably...possibly the closest to DLR.

I dunno why they do it i think it's a little bit of home away from home maybe! :confused3

Me so long as I see Mickey mouse I'm not bothered. :goodvibes Researching the trip is overwhelming though there is sooo much to do in or around the area on the non Disney days I just can't decide and then can't really plan properly until I can see what nights Fantasmic will be on when we're there because if that is only on weekends then I need a weekend day as a park day.

Happy 4th of July to all my stateside friends:

I'm ever so late...but I am here!!! :wave2: Sounds like you are going to have a wonderful trip! Lots of hopping around, but so much fun planned. :thumbsup2

I love your Dublin Disney Store updates...so neat to see all the magic on the other side of the globe. :goodvibes

Congrats on your piano exam!! Of course, I saw on FB that you had done it... LOVE the Dwarf figuring you Mamma gave you! She may not be the Disney fan you are, but she knows you well and LOVES you enough to give you such wonderful gifts! ::yes::

Unfortunately, I will be no help in the Disneyland planning since I have never been there. Let me know when you take a Disney cruise, I could be of some help there! :rotfl2:

Can I just point out that I love that you say "y'all"? Is that an Irish thing too? I am a southern girl, and say Y'all on a daily basis...I smiled when I saw you say it, too!

4 months left today and right now we don't know if the trip is going ahead still... tensions are rocketing at home! :sad1:

Welcome :) It should be a good trip if it goes ahead. Atm we're not sure tensions and all that!

I love the window displays they do there. I haven't been there for ages because I missed the second dance term this year was sick for a few weeks in May and wasn't feeling up to travelling up to Dublin for the classes.

Thanks. The piano results were a shock for everyone I think :lmao: Momma knew I wanted that piece and just said when the results came out that she'd buy him for me. We were actually really lucky and found it in a half price sale as well :goodvibes

We were actually talking about taking a cruise but then the Disneyland idea came up instead

Can I just point out that I love that you say "y'all"? Is that an Irish thing too? I am a southern girl, and say Y'all on a daily basis...I smiled when I saw you say it, too!
I don't know where that comes from I think I'm just a sponge for little phrases that other people say sometimes. My sister is in Manchester and I notice when she's talking it's like "I went to the shop me" I think that's dumb or where my brother lives they put boy and girl at the end of the sentences again dumb but I tend to pick up on little things like that. :goodvibes

Why? What is happening?

Just extremely high tensions and in the middle of it all the idea of just cancelling the whole trip came about. I honestly don't know what's going on at this stage. :confused3

I'm so sorry, Emma. I hope it all works out.

We'll see. It's happened before on previous trips where it's thrown out about the trip being cancelled or one person not going and then the week of the trip comes and it's all fine.
