Dawn, We went to the
MVMCP last December and loved it. We would do it again. It was me, DM (71) and DD (20). We had reservations for LibertyTree Tavern and our plan was to only do the Christmasy events. We had another day planned to return and do the other things. We ditched our plans and had a great time.
It was strange crowded- the walkways were crowded, sitting areas crowded, parade and wishes viewing areas were crowded. People just standing and waiting.......
The rides were no wait to maybe 10 minute waits. We rode POTC . BTMR several times. Splash mountain once-it was a little chilly. The Haunted Mansion a few times. The lines were very light, just getting from place to place was crowded. We think the crowd was just there to stand around LOL. We also rode most everything in Fantasyland, the first time we've ever ridden the carousel. We didn't do Dumbo. We rode Space Mountain a few times, my DM likes rollercoasters! We did Buzz, there was a good sized line, and even Stitch's awful Escape. We didn't stroll, we were on a mission to do it all.
We canceled our reservations to eat, so we could ride more.
Christmas stuff- We watched "Celebrate the season" show in the castle forefront got there shortly before it started and stood within 20 foot of the stage. We stayed there for the fireworks and wished we had moved. For the best viewing, we were too close. Our favorite spot- the middle of main street. The longest, packed line was "Twas the Night before Christmas". We stayed in Line and sent my DD to get cookies and hot chocolate. She was given a drink holder with 4 hot chocolates and 4 cookies (no need to all walk to get them), and joined us before the show started. About the shows-If you like dancing, singing characters, you will enjoy these. If my boys had been there, they would have been riding something! The dance parties were.....interesting. Characters dancing with a few children and some parents. It would have been great for pictures, had we been dancing...
We watched part of the parade, it was really crowded. At some point during the evening it was snowing on Main Street. We think it was during the parade. We don't get snow, so fake snow is fun for us!
We ate at Pinocchio Village Haus-but the menu was pizza only. The line here was long and slow. I was disappointed and several of the CS places were not open for the event. We enjoyed the cookies and hot chocolate (a couple of times!)The lines appeared long, but moved quickly and they were very organized.
Our favorite things about the evening- Wishes twice. We love it! We rode a lot, could have done more. My DM can walk forever, she's just really slow! But she loved it and stayed up hours later than she usually does. We grabbed more hot chocolate to enjoy on the boat ride back to the WL.
I have read lots of mixed reviews of the MVMCP. We may have gotten lucky with the crowds. Some places were packed and others empty. They checked for bracelets right at party time, when we were ordering dinner, and we overheard a CM tell a guy he couldn't use the restroom because he didnt have a bracelet- Not that he needed to leave, just that he could not use the restroom, it was a private party! The decorations are great and we took lots of pictures.
I would love to have your gift of writing. Your kids are beautiful and I like seeing pictures.
Wish i could join the party and meet y'all in December.
