The I Love BWV (yes, Hallways and Clown Pool too!) Thread

Cake Bake accepts the Disney Visa discount for 20%.

We had an appetizer of the burrata along with a Chicken Velvet soup for my wife and the Gumbo for myself. Both were fabulous.

My wife had the appetizer size crab cake for her entree, I had the chicken salad sandwich, my oldest had the hamburger, and my youngest had the sliders.

We got the Marie Antoinette for desert.

Our server was Josh and he continued the streak of excellent service we have received on this trip.

The atmosphere can be described as whimsical and feminine.

Pricy, but high quality…. we got a lot of it to go after a lunch at Brown Derby and a hard ticket Magic Kingdom event this evening.

Our last night at the Boardwalk before moving over to the Grand Floridian.

For 20%, really?! That is more than the usual Disney Visa discount.

I believe that’s what it said. It all happened pretty quickly.

Great to know, I totally wrote it off because people complaining but then I realized it was because of the price. I don't mind paying more for good food and atmosphere. I love a good tea service and I've been wanting to check it out!

Reading through various threads I came to the conclusion that some of the 1 bed villas do not have murphy beds after the refurb, did I read things wrong? I chatted to add murphy bed request to my upcoming stay and was told that they all have murphy beds now.

What room view category did you get?

Just got back from our Welcome Home Visit at Boardwalk, banked the 2024 points to use this spring break. We had a 2 bedroom Boardwalk View room. The view lived up to all expectations. I remember growing up walking along the Boardwalk, seeing people on those balconies and wondering how rich those people have to be. Kids and I had a blast pin trading around Crescent Lake and Riviera/Caribbean Beach.

We requested Crest O Wave section and a high floor, we were blessed to get both. Rooms 4009 and 4007. Ironically the view from the studio in room 4007 was better than the 1 bedroom in 4009 because 4009 was a corner room and the curve of the building affected the view towards the Cake Bake Shop side of the Boardwalk.

Can I ask why you requested Crest O Wave section? We have a stay booked for next year and the most important
factor for us would be to have an open balcony with see-through slats. Would this section provide this?
We have had balconies with the closed slats that you have to stand to see over (other resorts) and the kind over
the store (at BWV) where the balcony is enclosed and dark. We did not care for either and having a nice balcony
and view would be the most important to us.

Ask for High Floor. AFAIK it’s only the 2nd floor BW view that have the solid balcony rails.

I can not comment on the balcony rails as I do not know. I requested Crest O Wave section at the recommendation of others on these boards. That section is further down by Jelly Rolls so based on the curve of the building it allows you to see the opposite side of Boardwalk and clear views of Epcot and fireworks over Paris.

All the P/G view 1BR should have Murphy beds. There are a few Resort (Standard) view that don’t due to position of windows, and there may be some BW view too, but P/G view should be good.
Is there a request I can make to request a room with the Murphy beds (I booked resort/standard view)

Stayed in room 1021. 1 bedroom garden view. I didn’t love the view but kept the curtains closed because of the housekeeping carts that go around all the time. The location was very convenient for the pool so I wasn’t mad about it. I didn’t see any photos/reviews of this room in the thread so I thought I’d post.

I adore your home resort. The theming is perfectly perfect in every way.

Why row 9? I rode many times, but doubt I ever rode in row 9
It’s because the launch is more intense from the back and in general the momentum from the back is best for most rides so you feel the pulls and drops more. I’d say you’d get a pretty similar experience from rows 8 and 10, too, but row 9 is the front of the car so you don’t have anyone blocking your view in front of you as a bonus.

I’d request just that - “Murphy bed.” There aren’t a lot of other requests you can make for Resort view because there are relatively few of them, and almost all will have Murphy beds, so you have a good chance of your request being met.
