The "I gotta do something to pass the time"pre-trip report

You are so good for my ego and my soul always saying the sweetest things.
Just so you all know......:flower3: :flower3: :flower3: :flower3:
THANKS for reading my rants, raves and reviews and my many trying moments(anything from banged up knees.sinus problems to a shopping trip gone wrong.):rolleyes1
It helps to pass the time and to unload the frustration of waiting for the BIG DAY.

You have a good soul!! Otherwise you wouldn't be in the line of work you in!!

It's wonderful to have good online friends!! Before I had Ryan I had a miscarriage and it was very hard on me. No one really understood. I found a WONDERFUL group of online friends who had been through it themselves. They really made everything a lot easier for me!

I'm always here for a rant, rave, a chuckle (I still can't get over the double barrel sling shot!!!) or a story!!!

It is sometimes easier to talk to others(online) who have been through what we have, then to our own family or friends.
Sorry to hear of your loss, which I can totally relate to having 2 miscarriages and the twin to my oldest son.I sure could've used the support as most people don't understand it unless they have gone through it.
I did find a support group when I went through my bladder cancer 5 years ago and it was both good and bad, good being that others understood and they gave me hope ,the bad being some of them lost the battle.

Speaking on that subject....
I go next week for my 1 year check up at Cleveland Clinic it takes 3 days for all the tests and dr's visit so we leave on Wed. and return on Sat. they have a hotel right next to the clinic that we stay in. It is harder on my DH than me, I know he relives the moment 5 years ago when I told him and he gets worried every year just waiting for the report to come back. I am trying to get him focused on the trip to Disney.

BTW.......the new (and paid for) double barrel slingshot fits , loaded both barrels and was able to wear it all day.

Good luck this week with the checkup!! You know I'll be praying for you and thinking of you!!

:lmao: i'm glad your slingshot fits and works well!

Is it this week you are going or next week? i hope it all goes well and that your drive there and back as well as all the test results are unremarkable and uneventful!

and...

:cheer2: three weeks today!!

I take my little 94 year old this morning to get a cast put on her wrist and forearm she fell and fractured it....poor thing.

my goodness Vickey, you never have a dull moment, do you? i'm starting to see why you were so stir-crazy stuck on the couch for a few days!!!

Geriatrics....Pediatrics deciding which field I wanted to work in when I realized they are both the same:confused3

I must say that my line of work is a busy one,and since I am private duty I am on the clock most times 24/7.
I work with Alzheimer's and Dementia patients so there is never any two minutes that are alike. And the least little thing can and will upset them.

But look who is talking.....there is never a dull moment where you work either.

We got our first snow flakes today....YUCK

Unfortunately there are plenty dull moments at work for me!! Not lately maybe, but quite often.

my BF's mother had Alzheimer's, she developed it quite young and recently passed away. When i was living in England my BF and i would go over every week to sit with her for an evening so his dad could go out for a while, and while it was sometimes challenging i wouldn't trade that time for anything. There's something so rewarding about the tiniest victories. BF's mum liked me and would always smile when i came into her line of sight. Just saying anything to her would make her laugh.

You are a pretty amazing person to look after your patients with all your heart the way you do.

i LOVE snow! :goodvibes

Nothing like a good fitting slingshot :thumbsup2

You are wonderful in doing the work you do - there are so many who would run away from doing that. No wonder your clients' family rewarded you.

I'll be thinking about you this week as you go thru all your scans, bloodwork, poking and prodding. Looking forward to hearing a good report from you when you get home. Yes, it is scary until you sit across the desk from the doctor - keep thinking positively.

Hugs to you and DH!

I love it when family members appreciate the person their loved ones were not who they have become(when the disease takes over) so many families would rather not deal with it so they don't visit, so I love to hear that you and BF loved visiting her. And I can see where she would have loved you ...you are so sweet and considerate and very amusing so I can see her smiling with you.:)
Yes...the tiniest victories are so rewarding.
As for be amazing I'm not I am just someone who appreciates our elderly and would hope one day if I was ever in their shoes that someone would treat me with the dignity and pride that I deserve. If everyone would just stop and think our elderly are very prideful people and later on in life that is all they have is their pride and dignity and NO ONE has the right to take that away from them...but unfortunately in nursing homes and even in their own family that is the first thing that they are stripped of. Sorry I will get off my soap box on this subject I am very passionate.

I will not hold it against you for loving snow..I still love you.

Even though the rewards some times comes in the form of money or gifts the best reward the families give me is being involved in their loved ones lives.

I don't expect to see any problems but I have to admit it is scary and nerve racking to go through this as it brings forth the past memories. And there is always that tinest little fear........................
Thanks for the hugs:hug: I am always ready to accept any and all forms of affection.

Well I had better load up my double barrell slingshot and get my rear into it's gear and hit the road to go see my little precious and cherrished "old" ones.

I"LL BE BACK
20 MORE DAYS but who is counting.....ME :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

I'M BACK

Well today was a good day. Patients all well and accounted for.(had to add that info for my dear friend Sare).:confused3

I had to go out and look at washing machines and dishwashers today as our washer died on Sunday:mad: and our dishwasher died two weeks ago:mad:  (message for my dear friend Sare again can we call you for your services):rolleyes1

I plan on taking my lap top with me so I can keep in touch but just in case you don't hear from me don't worry we leave early in the morning and should be back on Saturday.
I plan on putting my Christmas tree up Sunday and hopefully a few other rooms decorated as well. Gotta get this show on the road I am running out of time .....I still haven't even pulled out the suitcases so I need to do that to usually I have everything packed about a month before vacation.:sad2:

No snow today:yay: :yay: just cold weather which by the way I hate also

hehehe

i'm glad your patients are well and accounted for. i definitely don't want to be seeing them at *my* work!!

i'll draw up a cremation order for your washer and dishwasher - did you want them done together, or separately? ;)

BURN THOSE THINGS TOGETHER

Why????does everything break or need replaced right before vacation or holidays????:confused3
Did look and found several man they are not cheap (will buy Maytag appliances only) but will have to deal with buying them when we get back from Cleveland Clinic either Sunday or Monday ....I will need one soon ...I refuse to take them down to the creek and bang them on a rock or pull out the wash board and tub.And a laundromat is a BIG out of the question for me I have seen what other people put in those machines....SMUCK & YUCK. I'd rather my boys turn the skibbies inside out and wear them for another couple days first. Or go l-commando

I am too nervous to sleep tonight....I was fine until about an hour ago. My DH and I called it a night around 11:30p and within minutes he was snoring(loud enough to wake all your clients Sare) I laid there very tired and did fall asleep for a total of 20 minutes then got real restless and had to get up.
I want this appointment to be over with. Alright enough ...sorry didn't mean to go there...I am going to just think happy, magical thoughts.

EVERYTHING is expensive! my brother, BF and i are buying my parents a new vacuum cleaner for Christmas (such a nice gift, i know, but we need one), and i was astonished at the price range. Who would pay $2,000 for a vacuum cleaner? :confused3 i'm not happy about paying $300 split 3 ways!! :rotfl:

i agree, it's horrible not to have a washer. You can live without a dishwasher - even a dryer - but not a washing machine.

We've had a new washer and a new stove this year and the one good thing is that you can now buy washers that use much less energy and water.. so in the long run you will be saving money AND the environment, so keep reminding yourself of that to avoid sticker shock at the store. :thumbsup2

i hope your travelling today was uneventful and you get to your hotel ok.

:cool1: It is :woohoo: snowing here! :cheer2:

:goodvibes Thinking of you Vickey!!

We just had to replace the washer!! What's the deal with that?! DH does a lot of the laundry, good man! Shortly before I got pregnant with DD i took a huge spill down the basement stairs carrying a hamper of laundry. So, while I was pregnant I wasn't allowed to carry a hamper down or up. he just got into the habit of doing it. But, a few weeks ago he came up and said "Ummm, I think the washer is broken" Yup, he was right! His friend, who repair appliances said it was a goner. Oh well, we got a pretty good deal on the new one at Best Buy, no ones buying appliance now unless it's really necessary so their trying to get them out the door!

I'm holding out hope of my dishwasher. I hope I didn't jinx it!!

Lots of  and pixiedust: Keep us updated!

We got here safely but will post more tomorrow. It was a long drive and i am tired and have an early morning.
Thanks for thinking about me.

wow!
you're going so soon!
=]
i bet you are so excited!!
haha
me and my family are leaving in 1 month in 2 days!
we finally started writing our PTR!
haha
it's not as good as yours but its pretty good. haha:rotfl:

Good luck tomorrow! I'll be thinking about you and praying for good news.

Count me in the washing machine woes. DH and I stopped at Lowes tonight to start looking. Our washing machine is 20 yrs old and is on its last legs - clothes are coming out pretty wet. We figure we want to replace it before it dies.

So just to check in, i'm now up to four cremation orders and how many burials? Y'all are swampin' me!

Glad you arrived safely Vickey have a good day tomorrow!
