The Hyena Chat thread: Everyone's welcome!

Well here's the bizarro comment cards in our latest packet...

My boyfriend became ill during our visit and was confied to our room for the better part of our visit. Twice we called the front desk in the evening and they brought up soup, hot beverages, and the name of local doctors, but it still didn't make him much better. Need to do more to help sick guests!!!

Me: OK! Like maybe load him in the car and send him home!

We were in room #144 and the seat on the toilet is not very comfortable.

Me: Geez, given the amount of fat on your rear I wouldn't have thought that would be a problem.:lmao: Seriously, are any toilet seats comfortable?

Didn't like pillows or texture of sheets (I only like Pima cotton).

Me: Then bring your own pillows and sheets!

Maid service is not appreciated. Also we are retired and don't want to wake up early. Why do you kick us out of the hotel before noon?

Me: Then come on over to my house you'll love it! Uh, because the maids that you don't appreciate must clean the rooms before the next guests check in at 3pm. (although if they would have asked, we normally have no problems with guests having a late check out).

I was kind of undecided on President. Was going to write in DS's name. Then if he does grow up to run for President, I can say I voted for him twice!:lmao: But finally decided to vote for a real person. Besides, doesn't the president need to be at least 35?
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

We walked past a Nader office yesterday.. plastered with signs and someone inside handing out material. I thought of you ! And wished I had my camera with me.
:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

But you could have wrote in Micky Mouse! He's more than 35 :rolleyes1

I remember one year (as a child) they had TV ads to show how to do a write in vote. The person showing "it's this easy" was an older lady that owned the neighborhood Ace hardware.

She won a lot of votes that year. :lmao:

DS :They should have blown on the soup, maybe it was too hot.

DH: they should have offered up an organ to the poor sick guy.

Thanks

I was worried about offending you in particular. ( I think I offend other hyenas on occasion.. but hey not my problem.. I am what I am. ;)

I haven't looked at numbers.. how many have breast cancer vs how many with kidney disease.. might be interesting to look into.

I know that dialysis is a huge expense to Medicare.

It wasn't that long ago that there were limited amount of machines. Hospitals had committees to choose who would get dialysis.. and who would not..based on age, family, contribution to society. Thankfully it's not that way now, but yet if you don't have good insurance, you are limited in the type of care you receive.

I know our tranplant center would not accept E until we had insurance beyond Medicare. They know that people can't afford the 20% co pays, the hospital would need to eat the costs.

Got billing for July and part of August for home hemo $1717 , this was after medicare paid 80%. Does not include the doctor bill of $115 (after medicare) and medications. Of course, this is not the whole amount.. they "accept assignment" from Medicare. If he didn't have medicare, the orginal bill would be higher.

It's beyond time to rework health spending

Nope, not going to offend me. I'm pretty non-discriminatory when it comes to health problems. To be honest (and I hope no bc survivors are reading our thread) I'm kind of sickened by all the pink stuff. It's gotten to be a way big overkill and companies are just jumping on the bandwagon to make themselves look good. You have probably noticed that a huge amount of that pink stuff ends up in the clearance bin by Christmas time. Right now Fred Meyer has Campbell's chicken noodle soup or $1 a can, but if you reach down further and grab the ugly pink can it's only 50 cents. Once again I'm not being unappreciative for all the money going into bc research, but it is extremely lopsided as compared to other diseases.

I'll see if we can order any organs from our food service distributor to have on hand for the next sick guest.:thumbsup2

Isn't Mickey Mouse already running the country?? Oh wait, that's not Mickey, it's GW!:rotfl2:

I just love getting our hotel packets every other week and reading the comment cards. People are just plain crazy!

We did get one on Monday where the guy went on for several pages about the dangers of using styrofoam cups. I'm guessing there was nothing good on tv that night and this guy had nothing better to do.:confused3

We get conflicting opinions all the time...I want a STERILE disposable cup, why is there a real coffee cup and glasses in my room...followed by...why are you using disposable styrofoam cups, it's a danger to the environment...followed by why use paper cups, it's cutting down all the old growth forests....So we now put all 3 in the room...take your pick people! Yet they still complain about the other 2 choices sitting there. I'm about ready to tell them to throw some instant coffee and hot water in their mouth and shut up already!

hmmm, what about all the paper he wasted to spout off on the dangers? :scratchin

I can't take credit for the paper comment.. hubby is quick on the witty remarks today. :lmao:

Must be because we slept until nearly noon today.

For which comment? The organ or the GW?:rotfl2: :confused3 or BOTH!:rotfl:

If we can't laugh at the President of the United States and serious life threatening diseases, what is left?

Speaking of discrimination, it is homecoming week at my DD's high school. They have dress up days, but this year decided to eliminate Hick Day & Toga Day because it might offend someone. WTH?? Who are we trying not to offend the ancient romans that wore sheets? Or the hicks?? Seriously, the hicks will think it's funny! So instead they added Cowboy Day and Decade Day. What, they don't think the cowboy's are going to be offended but the hicks will be? Of course DD and her friend dressed up as cowboys yesterday, and her bff carried a confederate flag. I politely inquired last night...so you do realize the confederate flag is from the south and cowboy's were from the west don't you?:rotfl: For Decade day the staff dresses up from the 50's, Seniors 60's, Juniors 70's, Sophomores 80's, Freshman 90's. DD is severely disappointed because she really has a warped idea of what we wore in the 70's.:rotfl:

Apparently he has no problem with wasting paper, only with using styrofoam cups that litter the highways and take 500 years to compost and harm wildlife. How they harm wildlife is beyond me...unless they wildlife is getting burnt from the coffee staying to hot in them.:lmao: Guess my DH shouldn't be taking his rifle to elk hunt, perhaps he should just entice them with styrofoam peanuts and then hit them in the head with a styrofoam cup of hot coffee when they get near.:thumbsup2

At least you didn't have unwanted maid service to kick you out of bed before noon!

Wouldn't be too hard to do the 80's, just walk into Macy's.. whatever they have now is just a copy of what was popular in my teen years-- aerobic clothes are back in fashion.. didn't you know? haul out those sweat bands :thumbsup2

hmmm 70's? plaid pants, stiped dress shirt and penney loafers? That's what I wore..

I would think Cowboy day is more offensive than a Toga or Hick day.. you have the whole cowboy vs indian thing that could be played out in the classroom..

Confederate flag?? :lmao: :rotfl2: uumm, wrong era as well. :rotfl:

Me thinks the school needs to do more history education.

I really do need to get back to work. Now you know why I am only allowed to work in the corporate office and not be out in public.:lmao:

Yesterday I sent a fax to Albertson's and addressed it

TO: The Highly INCOMPETENT Accounting Staff and their IDIOT Leader.:lmao:

They keep sending us past due notices for 2 invoices that we paid back in April! I keep calling and sending copies of the cancelled check, they keep apologizing and saying they have the problem fixed.

I think this got their attention because it was passed on to their CFO and he called me personally yesterday to apologize.:lmao: Wow, that only took 6 months for them to fix the problem!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Join us!

We are making fun of presidents, serious diseases, crazy guests .. and schools. All around fun time :thumbsup2

Sounds enticing!

I have been reading along, just trying not to get sucked in so I get can some stuff done around the house. Unfortunately moving so many times in a small time frame left numerous boxes of pretty much junk. Seriously, why did I find a need to have boxes of junk mail, opened envelopes, and who knows what the heck else. Anyways, I am trying to organize my pantry so our winter stock will fit (I had to go to the valley yesterday, so we loaded up the car on a Costco run) our stores here suck so we have to buy elsewhere to get a good deal. I am also working on the outside before it snows :faint:
