The Hyena Chat thread: Everyone's welcome!

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: I don't believe in coupons. That's why I just used my preferred card in the markets.

;)

I don't like crunch berries. I did when I was little but when I tried them a couple years ago, it tasted really bad. :rotfl2:

WHAT!!!! Don't believe in Kewpens? You use the preferred card, the store coupon and the mfg. coupon together.

Sunday Safeway had Frosted Mini Wheats on sale for $2.22 with your card. Then I had a $1 off coupon, bringing the price down to $1.22. But then I bought 3 and got a coupon good for $3 off my next visit. Bringing my price down to 22 cents a box.:thumbsup2

And if you're really good you buy it out of the clearance bin and get a free box of cereal and make them give you money back!:thumbsup2

I think my older sister clips coupons but I don't. I don't even have the paper that comes with coupons on Sundays. I only buy the paper for the Fry's ad every Friday. :rolleyes1

Oneof the songs Plan White T's played.. they encouraged everyone to pull out their cell phones and camera to "load it onto You Tube tonight"

Odd conseidering we watched security running up and down the stairs and having people delete pictures and turn off cameras .

The majority of the women believe their cancer was caused by stress. The second response is by genetics due to a family history. This is just kind of an informal survey that we do on the Komen board every once in a while. It's not scientific at all, but I do believe that most of the women know what caused their cancer. Maybe it's a gut feeling, maybe just knowing your lifestyle and putting all the pieces together. But there are usually very strong feelings or hunches of what caused it.

Many of the women are diagnosed during divorce, have an extremely stressful job or have gone thru very recent extremely stressful situations right before their diagnosis. Our hunch is that being mentally stressed causes you to not take care of yourself, allowing your body to get run down and then your immune system can't repair the damaged cells so they start multiplying and voila, cancer.

Personally I think mine was caused by pesticides on the many fruits & veggies I ate over my lifetime and by something in the old building that I worked in for 13 years. I think it damaged some of the cells in my body and my body just couldn't repair them or destroy the bad cells fast enough. Mine was very fast growing.
That's interesting, that people have these hunches as to the cause. I mean, we all get freaked out by big medical issues, and speculate on cause, but I am guessing this is different in some way from that, a more specific gut feel than that?

I should ask my mom what she thinks. Though her maternal grandmother died of breast cancer, so... Although I don't think I've ever asked her if she has the genetic type. DUH. You'd think I would have asked that. :headache:

Personally I like regular, but DH always liked Crunch Berries.
Ohhhhhh noooooo. I haven't been able to eat those since college. I had a boyfriend who was in the Flight Technology program, and one of his friends had gone through training to teach glider flying, but he needed a victim/student. So I got tapped to go up with him. I wish somebody had mentioned it would be wise to take motion sickness medication.

I haven't eaten Captain Crunch since the breakfast before the glider flight.

That makes sense, however traditional medical personnel wouldn't agree.. They forget that women's bodies are much different and emotional well being plays a HUGE role in our health.
I don't know that the medical professional would disagree today. I think they understand much more today how stress affects the body.

Interent printables are better than newpaper coupons.. or lat least that is how it's been for me.. mail me your inserts woman!

California coupons are typically very high value.... we get the crummy $1 off 2 while you get $1 off 1! I'm lucky I can use expired coupons up to three months back (Cub) :yay:

Free food is good for you !

:thumbsup2

I don't think you'd want the inserts. It's almost always some ad for Big 5 Sporting Goods or Macy's. :rotfl:

Oh Pix, you're so Old School.:lmao: J/K! While the Sunday paper is a good source, you can get them online now.:thumbsup2 Try Coupons.com or if you have a product that you like, go to their website and many of them have coupons. Even if they have no coupons, send them an email and tell them you like their product and odds are they will mail you really good coupons or free product.

I bet you could even find a coupon for the Neilmed Sinus Rinse.:rotfl2:

The BRCA genetic testing is fairly new and not everyone opts to have it done. It only tests for 2 gene mutations that are known to give you an 80% chance of getting breast cancer if you have the mutation. But it doesn't even come close to identifying all women that have very obvious genetic breast cancer. So you can still have hereditary breast cancer, but test negative on the BRCA test. They haven't identified all the genes yet. Some women also get the P53 test which is a tumor supressor gene. Doesn't cause cancer, but if you have a mutation your body can't supress tumors as well. Bet that was way more than you wanted to know about genetic breast cancer testing!:rotfl2: Anyway I did get tested for BRCA 1&2 and I am negative. If I had tested positive I would have had my right breast removed during my reconstruction and had it reconstructed also. I did not get tested for P53 because I don't think that test was around when my tumor was removed.:confused3

Nope, but I get the satisfaction of knowing that I am helping my friends and loved ones stay healthy.:thumbsup2

:lmao: I forgot to mention, I noticed on Slick Deals they had apost for Rite Aid.. guess what is one of the rebates this month? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Let me guess the Neilmed Sinus Rinse? :lmao: I seen someone last week had the Neilmed Neti Pot with a rebate that made it free. But really, how many nasal cleaners can one person use?:rotfl2:

It wasn't pretty.

But I did get it all in the bag.

But a glider is a very small, enclosed space. :crowded:

And apparently that was an unusually looooong glider flight. :faint:

Well ladies, on that visual thought I think I will bid you all a good night!:lmao: Mr. Sandman is calling...oh wait that's Mr. Irwin. They sound so much alike. Anyway, goodnight ladies and happy dreams.:cloud9:

No, actually it's very helpful. :rotfl:

I feel like I should understand this better, every woman should, but especially someone with family history. Maybe it's just being an ostrich with my head in the ground, I don't know.

Well, part of it, maybe a large part, is that my mom just doesn't talk about it. I don't know if she just doesn't like to, or if she feels she's burdening me. I hope it's not because she is afraid I would think it's burdening me, or that I'm disinterested, that's not the case at all. I've asked a few questions and she gave me just enough info to answer the question, but she doesn't say much else, and doesn't offer anything. :confused3

Good night, Sam. :cloud9:

Dang it, it's 10:30 already, I should scoot, too.. I've been getting to bed later than I want lately, and was going to try to be in bed by 10:30 tonight. Oops! :rotfl:

Good night, G. :cloud9:
Good night, pix. :cloud9:
