The Hyena Chat thread: Everyone's welcome!

:laundy:

And just to clarify (since it seems appropriate) that is the smilie indicating that I am doing MY OWN (well, my own families) laundry, and not that of Alison or any other hyena or disboard member. :snooty:

popcorn::

And no, this does not mean I am bringing popcorn...

:hippie:

Likewise, this would not mean that I am bringing you anything that might make you want the popcorn :rotfl2:

Alright, I am done now, back to laundry, and then the newly found chore of storing the summer clothes and bringing back out the winter clothes (I know Shawna, you have no idea what I am talking about here, but it really does happen) :lmao:

:confused3 Why would anyone do this? What are winter clothes?

I know - it all seems very strange. I had to order snow boots online - told my mom (who has lived in the valley her whole life) that I had to buy boots, and her response - why the heck did you buy cowboy boots :sad2: :lmao:

dizzy must be playing a practical joke. Or high on crack. Winter clothes. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Good one Dizzy. :worship: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Ok now to my serious business. I was supposed to go To San Diego tonight to go to the Memorial service tomorrow for my brothers friend However, Morgan came home from dance early today with a hurt ankle. They wanted her completely off of it as soon as she complained because she has her first competition in 4 weeks. :scared1: So we skipped jazz, contemporary today and solo practice tomorrow. She might be out this week. Its not swollen and I'm debating taking her in to get an XRAY. If it was swollen I would. She hurt it last night a little on the Trampoline with Jake and I didnt think much about it. Then in tech class this morning after a leap she started crying and they pulled her from class and called me. We are icing it and keeping her foot elevated and resting. Hopefully since its not swollen it wont be too bad if she rests. Jeff has a mess at work so with everything I am not going to San Diego. Lovely.

Nope - no crack here. :hippie: Winter clothes, winter jackets, winter hats, winter gloves, warm fuzzy winter socks, winterization - it is a whole new world up here :lmao:

Hope Morgan feels better - and I sure hope Jeff can get everything sorted out :goodvibes

Thanks Shawna :goodvibes

So is Jeff getting new assistants??? Why did they get rid of the old ones :confused3

Dizzy, its 96 and I have warm fuzzy socks on here. I call it my dusting the floor time. :lmao: :lmao:

96 :faint: I am sweating just thinking about it. It is a beautiful 72 degrees here :goodvibes (I honestly don't think we saw 96 this whole summer :confused3 )

Thanks Shawna :goodvibes

Yes he will get new assistants but well, you know, it will take some time. He has replacements now from other stores that rotate in but they of course have no vested interest in his store so he really has to watch them closely. They use too much paper give away too much food dont watch labor etc. Their bonuses dont come out of this store they come out of another so they dont care.

Oh I need to share my new venture. I thought I would wait til I got back to get started on it. I have an appt with an advisor at the school next week to start the LONG process to go into nursing school. I have 1 or 2 prereq's I need to take before I can get on the waiting list which is 2 years long :faint: to get accepted into the program OR I can choose to go to a Pinal County school and possibly get in within a year. Anyway, I'll find out everything next week. Luckly I dont have many prereq's to take since I've already been through college. I just have enviromental biology and that doesnt help much. I need the OTHER biology. :lmao:

Exactly - totally understand. Another reason I volunteered to help at the other store - if I am the floating assistant I will care about both stores, whereas all the others didn't.

I am just glad he did get the time off - I was scared for their lives if they told him no.

Good afternoon, hyenas!
It's overcast today (DUH!) but temps are kinda balmy (60ish maybe?), weird! But not raining! :woohoo:

We had our crazy morning of:
1. Swim class registration at 7 AM. Uff da! Big long line when I got there around 6:45, and once I got in I found out everyone else in line already had paperwork filled out!

I was under the impression they would just hand out a number, and we'd come back at 8 to register, being called up by the number. (That's how it worked last time I registered...) So I scrambled to find the forms and fill them out while I was in line (1 form per child per class, so 4 for me to fill out.) They don't actually start processing them until the afternoon, so I won't know if we got our classes until perhaps the end of next week. Here's hoping...

2. Went to Starbucks for java for two, brought it home and then showered and dressed for a birthday party DS4 was attending.

3. Dashed out of the house (forgetting my camera but remembered water bottles) for the party; arrived and found a great parking space right out front! Was told we were half an hour early for the party (oops!), and forgot the water bottles in the car. Ah well...

4. DS4 had a great time at the party, and they fed the kids pizza, juice and cake afterward. The birthday boy was so adorable, told every child thank you for the present (without prompting, I was impressed!)

5. DH took DS8 to his swim class. He said DS did GREAT in his class, he's really progressing well! I'm so pleased, especially considering this is a hard class. (It's more advanced than I ever got, for sure! Not that I went that far...)

6. Then they dashed off to DS's orthodontic appointment, to check on DS' palate expander. He's doing great with it, wearing it all the time, and his teeth are responding well! So they did a minor adjustment (making the outer wires fit more closely to his teeth) and said to keep up the good work!
:thumbsup2

7. Gave DS4 a bath when we got home, and popped him into bed for nap.

8. DH just dashed off to coach one of his two soccer teams in a game.

9. DS8 just came in to ask if I would feed him lunch. GEESH, I forgot to feed my kid lunch! :headache:

Tomatoes are evil!!!

However if the salsa is hot enough and the tomatoes are squished up and cooked then they are wonderful :cloud9:
Amen, sista! :thumbsup2

Dang it. Now I want chips and salsa... :rotfl:

Awwww. Sorry about Morgan's ankle, hopefully it will heal quickly.

But I'm really sorry that you aren't going to the memorial service. I know how much this man meant to your family, and that it was important for you to be there for his family.

I forgot to post what my nephew got me for my birthday....he is building me a fence!!! :cool1:

I know, probably sounds weird, but our property is horse property, so it would keep in a horse, but not a beagle. So poor Stitch is on a long chain to keep him in the yard - well he is fencing in a portion of the yard - this way Stitch can come on the porch and live in his dog house (which he is building too) when it snows :thumbsup2

Sorry, I had to go fix a game for Jake. :sad2: I dont blame you. Thank God they did not tell Jeff he could not go on vacation OR in a way I'm really glad they didnt tell him this happened when we were in FL.

:thumbsup2 That's awesome!!!

Its nuts I've been totally stressing over it all summer. Stressing my time as a SAHM mom is coming to an end. I know this will sound horrible but I've been terribly depressed about it too but I'm beyond that phase now. (I hope) :lmao: I just need to do something and luckily I have a lot of friends who are nurses that pushed me towards that instead of finishing up my meteorology degree. That wouldnt get me many places. My priorities have changed since I started that years ago.
