The Hyatt Orlando has closed down permanently..

I know some people here on the Budget Board use priceline for their Disney stays. Just wanted to post here that the Hyatt Orlando has closed down permanently today. All guests have been asked to vacate the hotel by noon. Apparently Priceline is putting people in different comparable hotels. There is more info on the Orlando Hotels forum if anyone is interested...

Bankruptcy.. They have been in bankruptcy for about a year now. Their creditors have decided enough is enough and they are basically foreclosing.

That is what I am seeing now too. I guess they are giving people a choice to go into another hotel or get their money back..

The hotel's closing answered some questions for me--I stayed there last year through Priceline, & it really seemed rundown------I was so surprised; it was nothing like other Hyatts......

Since then, I've been hesitant to use Priceline for a 3* hotel in the WDW area, because I didn't want to get the Hyatt Orlando again.....Now I just might try again, for that "1st night" before going to a resort onsite.....

A friend of mine who works for Hyatt told me that Hyatt was only the managing agent for the property and they were constantly asking the owner for funds to renovate the place to no avail. I guess it's no surprise to see it close. I, too, was hesitant to bid 3* in the WDW zone for fear of getting this property.

No, this is the one located right on 192 and it has I-4 running along one side of the property.. It is pretty close to Disney property.
