The how we ate and drank our way around the World Trip Report - UPDATED 05/06!

The poly dinner was our absolute favorite! Ever single bit of food was sooooo good it was hard to stop eating. Then they brought out dessert! We were so seriously full no one wanted dessert. But, you then you tasted it. WONDERFUL! If we could have taken a doggy bag home from that meal we would have been very happy. As it was we had to roll ourselves out the door and were very jealous of Mom being in a wheel chair since we all wanted to be pushed out!

:thumbsup2

What I wouldn't give for that dinner and dessert now! :dance3:

We got a little bit of our drink on. Hey – has anyone been keeping track of my mom’s drinks? Love you mom!

See… again.

Moving on to dinner at…

First time for my husband eating here…

DSCN3633.jpg

Aww…

DSCN3634.jpg

So… kinda funny here. Typical boys, right? We’re waiting to get seated and clearly we were not interesting enough so they wandered off to watch something stupid like basketball or something. Again, like typical boys, they’re completely immersed into whatever game it was when this guy…

DSCN3638.jpg

Stands right behind them and blows a very loud horn to announce the opening of O’hana. We saw it all happening and it kinda scared the crap out of the boys. It was very funny from our prospective but maybe it was one of those “had to be there” moments. :lmao:

You can see how close the horn guy is to them in this picture.

We got seated and they first brought us like 18 loaves of bread?!?!? Seriously…who needs that much bread! It was very good, however. I’m pretty sure they want you to fill up on the cheap stuff so you don’t eat so much of the good stuff.

Then a great salad.

DSCN3646.jpg

Oh… fruity drinks.

DSCN3647.jpg

Chinese noodles and broccoli.

DSCN3648.jpg

Chicken wings and pot stickers.

Shrimp.

Meat. Pork?

Love my mom!
DSCN3656.jpg

They just kept brining out more and more meat. I guess I failed at taking pictures of it all. I may have been a little busy eating! :confused3

But the best part?

Dessert!
DSCN3658.jpg

I think I have mentioned this before but I have been nicknamed “rut woman” because it’s sometimes hard for me to go out of my box when it comes to ordering food. I know what I like and I stick with it. It’s safe. Well… this dessert… wow was it good and the best part? Based on the description… bread pudding a la mode with banana foster sauce… just would never be something I would order. Ummm… YUM! LOVED IT! And now I want some more of it! Guess I’ll just have to wait for another year or two before I’ll be able to have it again.

Oh… and the never ending birthday for my sisters just keeps going and going and going…

Anyway, the dinner was fantastic. The company was even better. We had a GREAT first day with all of us (minus 1)!

Up next… EPCOT. Remember me mentioning my 21 year old nephew wanting to drink around the countries… yeah this is that. Dumb, dumb, dumb… but very entertaining! Love you, Matt!

The kids had been told they could not snack all afternoon as we knew there would be tons of food for dinner. Have you ever had a kid eat junk food and then say they are not hungry for dinner? Not this time! Sure wish they still had their special potatoes though.

I just found your TR today (I pretty much never go on the TR board but I randomly did today) and I'm SO glad I found yours! I didn't even know you were writing one! But I've read the whole thing today (it's been a lazy day for me hahah) and I am LOVING it! Your family seems so great! Can't wait to read more!

Hello and welcome! Thank you very much for reading and commenting! Glad you found it and are enjoying it! Lots more to come!

Well, here we are. The day my nephew attempts to drink his way around the world.

This day starts out as any day would. Breakfast. Out the door by 10:00. It’s hard getting 7 people up and out at a decent hour!

Hi!

The “kids” packed in the van. I remember when they were so small…

Finally here!

First things first! Ride in the golf ball.

The kids imitating Donald and Daisy in the background. The drunk nephew is in blue. He hasn’t started yet so he’s happy. And standing upright.

My daughter and nephew #2 – the sober one. :lmao:

Next up... let the drinking begin! :woohoo:

Your meal at Ohana sounds great! Your story of them opening the restaurant made me LOL - I've never been there but that sounds awesome!

Can't wait to see your Drinking Around The World recap!!

You have a beautiful family.

I've never tried Ohana for dinner, only breakfast. Love that place.

All of the drink pictures you posted look absolutely delicious. Can't wait to hear what happens around the world.

What beautiful memories. Hold on to them tight. (((hugs))) to you all.

I just wanted to thank everyone who has read this trip report but it is with a huge, heavy heart that I have to say my mom had a heart attack and died last Monday so I just can't continue on with this trip report. Maybe one day I will be able to finish it but it's just too hard now.

I am so very sorry for your loss. It was clear how much your mom meant to you in this report and the pictures. I hope that someday you can look at them and remember how much fun you all had.

I am so, so sorry for your loss. I hope the wonderful memories you and the rest of your family created with her will help carry you through this difficult time.
