Day 3, part 1
6:15 came and I felt 100% back to normal. I figured I would shower and write some TR notes….then wake DH around 7. It was MK day and I wanted to be there again for rope drop. Around 7:55 we were out the door and I wanted to get a quick snack near the lobby somewhere. It’s like a 10 min. walk from the Ranchos but I didn’t mind. We stopped at concierge and picked up our Spirit of Aloha tickets and I mailed some postcards. Last year I mailed some in the beginning of our trip and we beat them home. It took like 9 business days for these postcards to get to NY. Hmm.

So this year they all went out on day 2.
We headed over to Pepper Market.
We almost stopped at a corner store to just grab a muffin but DH wanted an omelet. OK with the commando wife. We walked in and the hostess couldn’t find anyone to seat us so she pointed to a table, handed us our napkins/silverware and told us to sit down. Okey dokey. I wanted to eat light b/c I was scared from last night. I normally do not have a problem with breakfast unless I eat sausage or something but you never know. So I decided on the oatmeal and fruit cup. DH went for that omelet. I liked the atmosphere of the Pepper Market but it took quite awhile to find the oatmeal. I walked by it like 3 times. Just not marked well. Very confusing at this little market! You also have to have a card stamped when you select an item so they know what to charge you at the end.
We got back to our table and Caro (at least that is what the receipt says) asked what we wanted to drink. OJ for me and coke for DH. She was nice but let me tell you that places like this throw me for a loop. The card says that sales tax and a 10% service charge will be charged at the register. Um what does that mean?

No tip? Not that I would tip her for the food but we normally would tip for the drinks. I said to just tip 8% since she is probably getting that 10%??? Maybe I am really off base. Either way the drinks came to $5.50 or so and we tipped $2. Another confusing part of this establishment. The bill came to $26 with that tip. Eek!!

So much for a quick muffin. Remember we aren't on the
DDP until Wednesday! I don’t think we will stay at CSR again b/c of the DVC but if we did we would not head here again.
So by 8:30 exactly we were off to the bus stop for MK.
As usual, just as we were walking up to the bus stop we saw the MK bus drive on past. Now yesterday, as you remember, the MGM buses were 10 min. apart so we hoped the MK ones were too. We lingered at the bus stop for a whole TWO MINUTES and another bus pulled in. In fact, that made two MK’s buses in a row…I thought we would have to cycle through all the other parks before MK came back. Nope. Must be our lucky day.
When we arrived we once again participated in the daily cattle roundup and headed to the turnstiles. We made it just as morning show started..something we had missed last year.
It was cute but I remember reading on another TR that the lady in the pink dress would have an annoying voice. Did she ever!!! The characters coming off the train were cute though. Finally they let us in and we were back on Main Street after almost a year!! DH was already enjoying the air conditioning coming from the shops while I thought it was cold!! We headed to Adventure Land, like we had done first last year.
Grabbed a FP for Jungle Cruise (DH did not think this was necessary..remember this part) & the return time was for 9:40..it was 9:10. I told him by the time we rode Pirates once or twice and then went potty it would be 9:40ish. He still didn’t think we would need it. I told him better safe then sorry and it’s not like we had to get another between then. So we rode Pirates with just a few minutes wait….managed to get the front seat the first time around. Nice! I just love Pirates…'nuff said. We circled around and rode it again. Then a bathroom break and lo and behold it was 9:40!!!! We headed back over to the Jungle Cruise and saw about 30 kids from some sort of team in the line outside..making the wait about 20 min. Hmm. No FP DH?? Chalk another one up for the DW.

No one was standing by the fast pass line…in fact it was roped off. I think we were the first lunatics of the day with a FP for the cheesy JC. Finally a CM came over and said he was sorry..he didn’t realize the FP window time had started. So we headed to our boat . I was looking for the girl from American Idol that is rumored to be a captain. We didn’t have her. But I will tell you what..I got a little panicky when we got on and she commented about our pins. Good God don’t heckle us please!!

I hate being heckled. So we said the usual thank you but nothing else..hoping she would get the hint and she did. Phew. I know it sounds like I am a party pooper but being heckled on the JC? No thanks. The ride was a cheesy as ever so I don’t think I need to go into it. But it’s Disney so I love it.
At this point we figured we better ride either SM or BTMR and get a FP for the other. We decided on riding SM and doing the FP for BTMR….the standby wait for SM was only 15 minutes. So we did just that.
I really like SM…I have a
Disneyland Soundtrack that I have been listening to for the last few months so I was excited to hear the music again. We didn’t get too wet….but here’s the mystery. I did not notice any stains on my pants before SM. (not counting the alien stains hidden in the fabric thanks to the black lights at RNRC

) I remember getting splashed lightly on SM’s first hilll and noticing the water was near my pant's zipper area. Hmm. After the ride I saw light brown stains in that area. I had on cotton/polyester pants so they dried quick. Anyway, were these brown stains from gross water?? DH says no..I got them someone else. I think I got them on SM. We’ll never know…but will that Tide pen work?? Find out later.
At this point I started dwelling on the episode with my stomach from the night before. I was nervous about our Artist Point ADR b/c I think the food would kill me. Any type of meat, not cooked at my house, has the potential to bother me. I can’t explain it..I just know this. I also needed to change our Trails End ADR so we could see Fantasmic that night and give up the Electric Water Pageant. We decided to take the train all the way back to city hall (remember it circles around the park first) and try to change some ADRs. DH suggested trying to get Ohanas for Friday night instead..it’s our fav. TS of course and we ate there twice last trip. He just assumed I would have had us eating there twice again. He was wrong…I really thought he would enjoy AP so that’s why I scheduled it. Not thinking that I might not be able to eat there. Anyway, I told him there was no way Ohanas would be avail. But we could try.
After the train ride we were finally back at City Hall. The line was out the door. Lovely. At this point I didn’t realize it was a free call on on the pay phones to Disney Dining. I would have rather called them myself and not stood in line. But we didn’t know that..yet. We got up to the CM and tried to get Ohanas with no luck. I figured as much. So we at least switched Trails End to an earlier time so we could do MGM Sunday, break for dinner, and then head back for Fantasmic. But as we were leaving I really wanted to find something else instead of AP. We walked around a bit and talked about it and finally decided that I would call twice a day to see if anything opened up for Ohanas on Friday.
We got back on the train and the CM remembered us. He gave us these nifty train tickets signed by Mickey. Not original signatures though.
When he saw us he worked it up like he was going to present us with something awesome but no. Just a sovenier. Speaking of winning….I had not seen the Dream Team yet. I wondered where they were..they certainly weren’t looking for some honeymooners to grant wishes on. We got off the train at Frontierland and I contemplated getting a Dole Whip. But I wasn’t hungry so I figured I could always get it on Thurs, the new MK ½ day, using a snack credit. By this time our FPs were ready for BTMR.
I love this ride!!! It seemed longer this trip then last time! After that we wandered through some shops and then headed over to Pecos Bill for lunch
but not before sneaking over to Fantasyland to get Fps for Peter Pan. It was about noon and the line was huge!! I think the standby time was over 60 min!!! I don’t get why people wait in lines more the 40 min when they could get a FP. It will always behoove me. Anyway, we headed over to Pecos Bill’s and met another long line. I expected it though since it was noon. I considered getting a table while DH got the food but realized he would never find me. There was that much seating!! We don’t bring cell phones in the parks so I just waited in line with him. We both got the chicken wraps and drinks. They were very good but HUGE!!
Once again I had a problem throwing 1/3 of it away. Delicious though!!!!

If two people have small appetites I bet you would be fine with splitting one.
After letting our food settle we headed over to the Riverboat. I wasn’t sick full but I just wanted to relax for a bit before having to walk around more. This was closed last time we were here so I thought it was fun! I wish they had more seats though since the ride is 15 minutes long and we had to stand. Oh well.
Some pics from the ride...
The next stop on our list was The Hall of Presidents. DH thought he would be getting a nice nap!! I enjoy this one but am always afraid people will boo when George does his little speech. Luckily, the both times we have gone , people only clapped.
We did some more shopping..stopped in the Christmas Shop near Liberty Tree Tavern and bought some Disney Xmas cards. I had already bought my cards for this year on clearance last year but who doesn’t need Disney cards as well? I had them sent back to the hotel.
Ok…let me tell you what I witnessed next. A family was searching through the sea of strollers and I just assumed they were looking for theirs. Nope. They were looking for one to steal!!!

The mom kept saying, “No, not that one..it has stuff in it. Yeah, grab that one. It’s empty. Quick..no one is coming.” Can you believe it? I would be pissed if I came out and my stroller was gone. What cheap sakes!! DH and I found this super irritating..the 2nd most shocking thing of the trip. (stay tuned for our 9th day and shocker #1!!)
We walked under the Columbia Harbor House bridge thing into FantasyLand to use our FP’s on Peter Pan. This is a cute ride but somehow I forgot from last August what our reaction would be at the end. It went something like this, “That’s it?” Hmm. I know to kids it’s a great ride but not to us. We feel the same way with Pooh and Snow White. Definitely cute and well done but not something we will go on again until we have kids. Then we will be on it enough to last a lifetime!!
Let me mention now that I was having tons of trouble finding a sovenier that suited me. We had $275 in gift money and had spent a nice chunk of it on other people!! (but will not spend a dime on SIL or bratty niece..last time we bought her gifts she threw them, then snubbed us. And no thank you card on her behalf from SIL. So we are done with her until she gets older) But onward…last year I bought these two moving cups. You know what I mean…the ones that have the grainy surface and move as you turn them??? I have no idea what they are called. Well I was on a mission to find more. They had them in Snow White and Tinkerbelle ones but I wanted ride/park ones. Last year I got Splash Mt. and MK. I found a Pirates one and bought that but no luck on anything else. The search continues.
Next up...dinner at LTT!!
