I went to WDW during President’s week this year and decided to go to the Hoop Dee Doo Review https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/d...wilderness-resort/hoop-dee-doo-musical-revue/, which I had not been to in about 15 years.

What a great show . . . the level of energy, comedic timing and all around good fun made me wonder why I waited 15 years to return.

Just the boat ride alone from the MK to Pioneer Hall and seeing the wishes fireworks from the water was worth the price of admission.

However, on a real down note, I found the food horrible and I like to eat. It was really bad . . . they over cooked chicken that had little to no meat and for the first time in my life I actually had to spit the food out because it was so dry that it actually made me gag.

Now I know Disney can do better and my server wanted to know why I didn’t eat any of the food and he must of said something to the Manager and she came out with chicken that was good . . . (special order), but unfortunately the damage was done and I lost my appetite for eating.

But despite the bad food and no Abita Amber (I was spoiled from being at POR-Riverside) . . . only Bud lite, it was a very enjoyable experience and again just good fun and very entertaining.

We saw the show to celebrate my daughters' 7 birthday. They still ask to go again and they're about to turn 13. We will definitely go again the next time. Our food was great.

We were there for my birthday last month. Claire DeLune sat in my lap...

But we actually found the food to be real good...the chicken was tasty, the "cowboy beans" withe pulled pork mixed in were delicious (and I don't eat baked beans a lot), and they even brought be a strawberry-less shortcake...

Sorry, I hated the show. It was the worst money I've spent on WDW property. We booked 6 months prior for the Cat 1 seating. We were seated at a table that butted a wall to the right of the stage. Our view was very obstructed. The servers has bussing buckets set up behind us and were constantly scraping plates and tossing things into the bucket. It was very distracting from the show. Plus, the room was freezing. I will agree that the food was not good.

Initially, I too had a seating issue when I first arrived. I was originally booked for the top floor but they closed off the top due to lack of sufficient guests so they placed everyone on the main floor. I did not want the main floor from a photographic issue because on the second level the elevation was good to take great photos without a lot of obstacles in my site lines.

The CM place me initially in a table with the worst view situated all the way in the back of Pioneer Hall with every obstruction for a decent photographic view. I complained about this matter straight away to the cast member and ask to speak with a Manager. The Manager was very good and she understood the situation that through no fault of my own the upstairs was closed off to guests and taking photos all the way in the back of Pioneer Hall just would not work, so she placed me fairly close to the front and that worked out great.

But I understand what you are saying . . . attending any event is about the total experience and not just the main event . . . believe me, my opinion would have radically changed had I NOT been relocated up front!

We have booked the Hoop Dee Doo for my birthday this coming January. :yay: it has been a couple of years since we were there last, but we really enjoyed it. Food was ok, not exceptional, but that is food at Disney. I am looking forward to it.

I did ask to be moved. But the show was sold out. Not another table in the house.

My husband and I were on the fence with doing this with our family but wasn't sure if our kids would sit through it 5 and 3 yr old

We saw it when our children were 7 and 11 and again when they were 12 and 16. We loved it both times! 12 year old thought he would be too cool for the show but was the first one laughing and clapping along.

Our food was also good. I imagine like all restaurants, sometimes you hit a bad day (or bad cook :-) )

We saw it for the first time this June. My kids are 13 and 16. They loved it. My son loved the ribs. I thought the rest of the food was so-so. My husband and DD13 liked it.

I was disappointed with the drinks since the wine was awful and I don't drink beer so I drank Diet Coke with the teens.

We luckily had a good seating. Right in the middle. The table was set up for 8 and they put us with another family of 4 which I thought was a bit strange. I think the other family did too since they didn't say a word to us even though I tried to be friendly.

I enjoyed the show and would like to go back again someday.

We saw this last month.

The food was OK. DH loved the food- he likes hearty, meaty dishes.
I thought the food was OK- not great, but fine.
DD and DS were not wild about the food. DD ate mostly the salad, DS wasn't eating anything, and I think the server noticed and sent out the manager who checked on us. They offered DS the uncrustable, which he ate better. So it was nice they tried to accommodate him. I had not complained- it's not their fault he didn't like the food.

The show was wonderfully entertaining. The kids loved it. So this was a show that appealed to adults, a 9 y.o. boy and a 15 y.o. girl. The cast was very talented.

Our seats were not great, but I had booked Cat 3, so I couldn't really complain. We were upstairs, at the table closest to the stage. So we were looking over the actors from above. So we were very close, but missed some of the action due to the angle. I do have to say that even though our table was out of the way, when the actors came into the audience to talk with guests, one of them always came up to our table, so we did not feel neglected.

I think you have to be prepared for a show that is just fun, not sophisticated at all. It's just silly.

As we are from Texas, I would not say that the food was awesome, but it was still enjoyable. They brought our daughters all the chicken legs they could eat, which was 4 a piece. The wait staff was incredibly attentive. There was one woman there who had been working there since the show opened (1971?).

We went to the show a couple of years ago. It was great and the food was great. What wasn't great was my over tired child. My DD was 22 months old when we went and she refused to nap that day, fell asleep on the boat over to Fort Wilderness and when we took her out of her stroller to be seated for dinner she was a mess. She sat in mine or DH lap for the whole show. Her mood only changed when she got to play the washboard near the end of the show. DS who was 4 apt the time LOVED the show and the food. We will go back, possibly next year it something fun, but not a every trip kind of thing.

Great pictures!! Thank you for sharing!

Just got back from a trip with 6 adult friends. We went to HDD and had a BLAST!!! Being with a big group definitely adds to the craziness of the evening.

Food was fine... it filled our bellies. But we really don't go for the food.

This was our second time there and both times we had great tables. Can't wait to go back again!

Glad you enjoyed it ... while I did not like the food at all, this was only the second time in 20 years I attended and the show is great . . . the first time I went there it was more fun for me . . . I had taken my Mother to the show. This time I was by myself . . . another reason I wanted to be on the top level and going stealth and wound up on the ground floor. it was me and my trusty camera!

We saw it Saturday past. Loved it. My DD14 just about bust a side she laughed that hard. The food was ok! The ribs were way overlooked. DH loved all the food though. Glad I did it, but I doubt we would do it again! I wasn't expecting to see Wishes on the boat ride back that was a nice treat.

looking at the pics..........that is the first thin "six bits" i have ever seen. in fact i did not recognize anyone but the blond. BTW........ i have been at least 7 times.

Wonderful pics. Just seeing them gives me happy memories. We love this show and make it a point to end our Disney Vacation with it every year.
