I too couldn't believe the Jason over Paris thing. I mean hasn't she been after this fashion career since day 1. I found this about the second season.

MTV has renewed Laguna Beach spinoff The Hills for a second season.

The series follows original Laguna star Lauren Conrad as she attempts to forge a new life in LA with new friends Heidi, Audrina and Whitney.

"The series really connected with our viewers, so it was an easy decision to bring it back for another season," said Lois Curren, evp of series programming at MTV. "We are delighted to continue working with the cast as we showcase the next stage of all their lives."

The new season is likely to air early in 2007.

I, for the life of me, don't get Lauren. She seems so driven towards what she wants to do in life with fashion, going to school and working that internship was a lot of work but its what she had to do.

Then you add Jason to the picture (who is the biggest playah ever!) and her vision becomes cloudy. He's not even worth it.

Omgosh I'm so addicted to MTV Reality Shows. I think I need to join some kind of support group!

'Laguna Beach' stars, Barkers going through breakups

At the risk of spoiling season two of "The Hills," we have some bad news. Or good news, depending on whether you thought Lauren and Jason were made for each other or he was holding her back.

Lauren Conrad, the 20-year-old star of MTV's "The Hills" and, previously, "Laguna Beach," has split with her on-off-on boyfriend, Jason Wahler. This week has been a rough one for other MTV reality-show stars too: Conrad's fellow "Laguna" alum, Kristin Cavallari, has reportedly broken up with boyfriend Brody Jenner, and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, has filed for divorce from his wife and "Meet the Barkers" co-star, Shanna Moakler.

Barker and Moakler, a former Miss USA and Playboy centerfold, married in October 2004 and have two children. His publicist has confirmed that Barker has filed divorce papers, but beyond that few details are available.

As for Conrad, she tells Us magazine that "Jason and I are no longer together, but out of respect for his privacy I am not going to discuss the details of the breakup. Even though I am on a reality-based show and I live much of my life in a fish bowl, I think anyone would understand that I need to keep some of my life private."

Their relationship has played out on both "Laguna Beach" and "The Hills," which ended its first season last week. Wahler's return to Conrad's life polarized fans, with some message-board chatters mooning over a seemingly destined love and others wondering why the heck Lauren wouldn't just move on with her life.

Finally, the 19-year-old Cavallari has split with Jenner, 22, who starred in FOX's blink-and-you-missed-it show "The Princes of Malibu." They, like Conrad and Wahler, had broken up and reunited in the past, and now they're through again.

Thanks Jen: Wow...well let's hope that they STAY broken up. Jason is a jerk and Lauren needs to realize that NOW and MOVE on with her life.

And I watched Meet the Barkers as well. Wow, I am surprised they are no longer either. They had a funny, weird relationship but I still like them.
I wonder what happened to that show.

For the prospect of Season 2 of the Hills:
Production on the second season of The Hills will begin almost immediately, according to the show’s executive producer. Tony DiSanto tells the New York Post, “We’ll start shooting right away because you don’t want to potentially miss cool stuff that’s happening in these people’s lives.”

The finale, which aired last night, only “wrapped about three weeks ago,” according to the paper, so the aftermath of Lauren’s decision to follow her man instead of her career.

Thus, producers don’t want to miss anything. “We’re going to dive right in ASAP. We’re going to get the troops back together and jump in,” DiSanto said.

What?! There's going to be a second season?! I thought Lauren was all done with reality shows.

I'm pumped for another season!!

I ended up missing the season finale because I had to pick up DBF from the airport. I want to say that I can't believe she gave up Paris, but at the same time, I can. I don't think she's AT ALL as "driven" as everyone tries to make her out to be. I just see her kind of floating through life- not driven in the least.


Megster was definitely right when she said that she doesn't even really need Paris and that Whitney will go farther because she really deserved the internship.

I used to be die hard in my defense of the show's reality aspect (aka that it was mostly real). I do think it was real in the beginning (well, as real as a bunch of teens on camera can be) but I think as the years have gone by, it's gotten more and more staged. This next season of LB looks the worst. Will I watch it like I won't have the opportunity to see the reruns 10 times a week? Yes. Will I believe it's all real this time? No.

I just bought the collector's edition of Season 2 LB on DVD Can't wait to watch the extras!

I missed the last episode. Is there somewhere to watch it online? I looked at overdrive.com and didn't see the actual episode, just the aftershow.

I saw LC on the red carpet interviewing someone a couple months ago or so. I think maybe it was the POTC premier at DL, but I don't remember for sure.

My sister and I both think the show is staged. Everything they say just seems sooooo scripted. Especially Audrina. I'm hooked on the show though

They are obivously both from wealthy families and don't have to worry about working or how to pay for a pad in Malibu, or diamonds, or Chanel bags.

She told them that the show is all set up and that none of them were even friends. they were all picked for the show and set up that way. She barely had even met Kristin before and didn't really like her because she was mean in school. She did the show for fun and wants to be an actress. gee what a surprise.
you can tell the scenes are mostly set up and the dialogue forced.

You can tell its staged when like they start conversations with "so Kristen, tell me about Stephen" LOL. The worst part for me is that I know its staged and I still get way to into it. I need help!

Nice gossip about Jessica. I believe that too because she was on the first season of LB for a bit and didn't really hang out with Kristen only because she was Dieter's girlfriend and he hung out with Stephen.

I just watched a few episodes and I have to say I loved LB better than HILLS but that won't stop me watching HILLS Season 2. I am addicted totally and eek I am 52yo and love watching them all. Wish I was young again and oh of course RICHHHHH.

BTW: Did LB Season 2 start yet? I need to set my TIVO.

For the record, I never once thought LB was scripted or staged but I can definitely see it in the HILLS.

O can anyone watching LB tell me what exactly was it that Casey said about Alex that caused a big commotion and Alex was mad as he** at her and screamed at her....does anyone remember...????

A friend told me that when MTv was casting they went to Laguna High (or whatever its called) to interview students to cast for the show. I guess Kristin was out sick the day the producers were there, but the principal convinced them to come back the next day when she would be back in school. She must have really been a drama queen
