I ranted to my mother about all the awful changes all the way home from the movie theater. It was my favorite book in 4th grade.

the only change i know about was the adding of the musical number at the end (why)

they removed all the substantial plot points and all but removed the role of one character

the book was just so smart and good and Miramax was like "...yeah, no."

all they really kept were the names of the characters and the basic premise of the story
