Hi all. Just back from another great stay at Pop. My stays seem to keep getting better every trip hope that tradition continues. LOL. Arrived October 26th for 7 nights had a great standard room in building 6. Other than my rooms in bldgs 4 and 5 this was the best room by far. This is my new favorite standard room location. My non connecting 4th floor room was close to the elevator. And who wouldn't enjoy leaving your room and seeing large foos ball guys and a giant big wheel every time. And then walking towards the elevator seeing a large Mickey phone icon. It was great. Such fun memories to have. Like I said got all my requests plus as a bonus we had a walk in shower. Nice surprise hardly ever get that. I always call to give my requests and make a 2nd one close to arrival but this time but thanks to @scappinginontario and a few others here I also mailed in my requests. Don't know if that helped though. I did speak with Meghan a front desk manager there and asked her to tell the room assigners my appreciation. I again was surprised to get pixie dusted. Later after my nice talk with Meghan I came back to my room to find a cute Mickey phone ornament and a nice stainless steel Pop Century mug which I am using as I write this. It was a nice surprise and of course I made sure to see her the next day to thank her. Skyliner was great as usual and used it every day. No issues. Halloween is always such fun at Pop and this year was better than last year. Got some good candy. On October 29th I posted here for @scappinginontario and anyone else an update on the refurbishment. So I won't repost just go up thread to find my post. I think I will post it on the refurb thread I forgot about that one. I will add that when I left on November 2nd the barricades on the back half of bldg 10 were gone so probably by now that bldg is completely opened I would think. It did look almost ready that day. Sorry for such a long post and appreciate all who are still reading. LOL I just wanted to share my great stay and experience at Pop. Oh and I have my Pop BB dates for 2026 booked. Looking forward to 2 great trips.

I'm glad you had a wonderful trip! Its always great to get a little unexpected pixie dust. And thank you for the refurb updates. I'm heading down in a couple weeks and I'm praying that the lobby will be finished by then. I know Pop doesn't go crazy for holiday decorations, but id love to see the decorations in a fully finished lobby.

Did you notice any construction being done in the lobby during your stay? I know they have the sheet covering the walls so you cant see much, but im hoping its something they are actively working on and trying to finish soon, and not something they are taking a hiatus from.

Just saw some updated photos of the lobby and I have to say that I like it, very colorful. I personally will miss the shadow boxes but I realize that the wall murals will be a lot more interesting to young families and it fits with the resort theme.

Thanks so much for your great review and updates @didilovesdisney!! Appreciate hearing about your trip and also the refurbishment updates!

One question - does the lobby refurbishment appear to be complete or, are there any areas that are still blocked off? Also, is Petals refurbishment still in progress or, is it complete? Looking to update the refurbishment thread.

When I left November 2nd no the lobby was not complete. In my October 29th post I was told by Meghan the manager it would be a few more weeks. The whole wall where the shadow boxes were was completely covered the whole time I was there. Couldn't tell if they were working on it or not. Otherwise the lobby was complete I think. And shadow boxes will not be returning. As for Petals that too will be a few weeks till done. They had a small booth in front of the bar with 2 bartenders where you could purchase your alcoholic beverage it was opened till 11 pm I believe. My sister got a drink there and said it was good. Petals was completely covered couldn't see what they were doing. But the outside 24 hour beverage center was opened and the fan was always on. The bar part was closed off I couldn't see in. Now we all know what a few weeks can mean at Disney so take that information with a grain of salt. LOL. As you can see from my previous post on October 29th the room refurbs are moving along. Bldg 10 should be completely opened by now. I could see bldg 10 every time I came and went from my room so that is why I am pretty confident on that update. Barricades gone and looked ready. All curtains were all closed the day we left. Prior to that they were open lights on and could see work being done. I am sure by now all of bldg 9 was closed. My husband walked by there the day we left and said it looked completely closed to him. But not sure. He said he did see more barricades then prior days. So if 9 is completely closed then only 7 and 8 are still not done yet. Hope this information helps and double check my October 29th post also. And yes you can update the refurb thread. You are great at adding information and updating than I could ever be. Appreciate all you do for the Pop Century threads. Just glad I was able to help you and anyone planning a Pop Century vacation.

Thanks @didilovesdisney! I did update some of the refurbishment with thread with the Petals and lobby information but am holding off updating the building portion until I receive first hand knowledge of what is/is not open. We were at Pop for 10 days in August and it looked like one of the buildings was about ready to re-open the entire time we were there but when we left it was still closed. I'm sure someone will provide current info about which buildings are closed and opened and I'll update then.

Yes @scrappinginontario better to hold off on the room refurbs update. I knew the front half of bldg 10 was opened because I spoke with some people who had rooms there. And Meghan the manager confirmed the back half of bldg 10 was still being refurbed while I was there. And of course what I saw when I left was purely speculation. LOL. I'm sure future Pop guests will have updates on all the refurbishments. My trip report next spring will be on staying in a preferred room. The dates I wanted only had preferred availability. A little more yeah but I'm looking forward to it. Pop is worth it to me. Thanks again for all your great work on this thread.
