Thanks, everyone, for the answers. You're really helping me be more prepared. I had never thought of using CS for breakfast and sharing it until I read it on the board. Was breakfast really crowded ? How long would it take to get a breakfast platter "to go" and get out with it around 7 in the morning ?

Around 7 in the morning it should be very quick. We ran into our biggest crowd the morning we slept in until about 8:30 even with that we only waited in line about 10 minutes for food and then a couple minutes at the cashier.

Deanna, you must have been in about the same area as us only we were on the 4th floor, room 5465. I was very pleased with our location. Didn't you just love the pool?

Forgive my ignorance, but what is the CS plan and how much does it cost? Any specifics would be appreciated - or a link to where I might read up on this.

You are not being ignorant. You have came to the right boards to find answers to all of your disney questions. The CS Plan is part of the Disney Dining Plan which can be purchased when booking a Magic Your Way Package. We were fortunate enough to book when they were doing a free promotion on the dining plan but I think the normal add on fee is $37.99 per adult per night and everyone in your party has to be on the same plan. With the dining package you will receive 1 CS (Counter Service) credit per person for each night of your stay, 1 TS (Table Service) credit per person for each night of your stay and 1 snack credit. I know 37.99 sounds like a lot but it really pays for itself. Your TS meal includes an appetizer (everybody can order their own individual appetizer), entree, desert, non-alcoholic beverage, taxes and gratuities. To see more what the plan details go to the Walt Disney World site or click on the link below. Also, if you have not been to allearsnet.com check it out for a list of the menus.

I know this is just a little off topic, but I just had to take a moment to say how refreshing it is to read your last reply. So many times on these boards I see others so quick to rudely or impatiently respond to others questions. You are exactly correct in that this IS the place to come for answers to your quesitons. A brief and informative response, along with a link for more information is so helpful. Those of us who have been on these boards for a long time, know that the answers to some of the "newbies" questions are posted in other places, sometimes many times, but those who haven't been around for long may find that navigating and searching for answers to your questions can sometimes be daunting if you're not familiar with where to look. That is not to say that there aren't many of us who believe in responding in a helpful and polite way, but I guess I've just read too many of the other type responses lately, and it is embarrassing to think that those just finding their way here see those responses as their first impression of us. Let's all just try and remember what it was like when we first found our way here....

Well Said!!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I'm fine tuning my plans for our 9/14 trip and I have a question.
I've been following this thread for months and I don't think this has been brought up---
We plan on having a quick breakfast in our POP room each morning.
To save time and $$ I'm packing pop tarts, cereal etc.
We will have a cooler in the room and would like to keep a small amount (maybe 2 pints) of milk in it to use with the cereal.
Is there milk available to carry out (cartons) at the POP food court?
If they only have the milk fountains that dispense into a cup, we'd have to go elsewhere to get some milk.

TIA! :earsgirl:

Yes, in fact that is the only way you can buy milk at any of the resorts. I always bought one for dd's cereal...Corn Pops and milk every morning...just like at home!!! You're going to love Pop!!!!

Hi Crazymomof4
Just wanted to let you know that it is cheaper to buy the half gallon of milk than the individual containers if you need more than 2. When we were there in June, the half gallon was $2.19. Individual pints were 99 cents each. Even if you have to throw some away, it is cheaper than buying 3 individual containers. It worked for us. :)

We probably will do that. Where did you buy the half gallons?

They have the 1/2 gallons right in the food court. If yu are on the dining plan and eating at the resort you can pick up the milk as your drink and use your mug to get something else to drink. That is what we did and it worked out great.

Thanks, I'll be getting those 1/2 gallons!

Hmmmm, I wonder if I could use a "snack" credit to get the milk?
We don't plan on eating at POP other than coffee and milk in the am to go with the breakfast items that I'm bringing down.
I don't need a "snack" in the parks........all of the other food on the Dining Plan is more than enough!

Sorry just "thinking out loud" here.

Milk as snack = no
I tried that. If I had to do it again, I would get pints of milk with our evening meals, bring cereal along, take the milk back to the fridge for breakfast, and use snack credits for our sodas at supper. Make sense? We ate all but one of our evening meals at POP, wasn't planning on it, but it just worked out that way. Did all but one of our TS at lunch time. I guess this trip was just practice, and I will have to go again to perfect it, right? LOL

Thanks for the info!

Hi All

Just thought I would let you know that we have just returned from our 2 week stay at the pop. We had a fantastic time, we were in building 1 (lady) 50's top floor. Fantastic location just 2 mins walk from the food hall and the buses.

This is our 4th visit to WDW with all our other stays being at the AllStars, my only gripe was with the bus's , it was'nt a major problem but the pop is a massive hotel and at 50% of the time we had to wait for a 2nd bus to come along. It was worse after park closing as is all resorts I know, but the pop queue always had about 3 times as many people as any other queue. We worked around this by leaving early in the morning, and returning back before the parks closed, no real problems from Animal Kingdom and Epcot but major queues from MGM and Magic Kingdom. The parks were all fairly quiet, so I dont know how bad the situation would be in the height of the holiday season. That said we throughly enjoyed the Pop, the food court was great as were all the staff, the room was fantastic with Iron, Ironing Board and Hairdryer.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

(We tip good, but its not to get towel animals or anything, its because we have six children and they are pretty disgusting! I know, I clean up after them everyday. :earseek: )

The food court was great and the only counter service place we ate at. We used the dining plan without problem.

.

Hey DisneyMom5,

We're not far off from your family...DS8,DS7,DD5,DS3,DS8months...I laughed when I read your little comment in signature, "Yes, they're all ours". I get that question all the time. We will be at POP in 2 weeks :cool1: and I was wondering how crowded you found the rooms with the pack 'n play? We will have connecting rooms, but I've heard it's pretty small even without the playpen. We're not used to luxury accommodations so I figure it won't be any smaller than our usual kind of hotel. Also, OT, how did you find the dining plan with your family? Did your kids share meals at all? I have a hard time believing people when they say they left with unused credits. Thanks for any info!!!

Oooh...very good questions, and a family I can relate to! LOL
1) We put 5 kids in the connecting room (shh, don't tell, but the boys sleep better together than apart.)
We had the pack and play between the table and the window. (Do a search for a Pop Century floor plan to see what I mean. The connecting door was between the tv stand and the closet.
No problem fitting both pack and play and the small fridge into the same space. Only thing that we could not do is get the dbl stroller out of that room, we had to go out the other rooms door. But the stroller fit between the bed and the bathroom wall overnight, so that was good.

We don't travel much and we thought the rooms were much bigger than we expected based on everyone's complaints. It was about the same as the quality inn and comfort inn that we stayed at on our trip down and back.

Request near EVerything Pop, and if you drive, request near a parking lot, as that makes dragging all the luggage in much easier. I wish I would have packed less, and done more laundry, as the kids wore out in the heat and we didn't spend as many evenings in parks as I thought we would and did a lot of laundry, so could have brought less clothes.
Loved having 2 bathrooms!

2) Believe me when I say Waaaaaaaaaay too much food. You will be shocked and appalled. We ordered CS meals at Pop the first night and got a meal for the six that had credits and ended up throwing about a 1/4 of it away, and saving the cookies for later. The kid's mac and cheese is about three scoops, two small children could share, especially if they are drinking a big ftn drink. Take along small cups to split a drink. I always forgot to take them in there. There are little plates at the bakery goods (cookies, etc.) but the cookies are also on bakery paper, so I started taking those little plates to put a split serving on.
They will divide the credits between your 2 cards, but as I mentioned before, All of the places we ate just used one card at a time, no matter how many people were listed on the card, or what ages.
We started getting 1 adult or 1 kid meal per 2 kids at Everything Pop. Sometimes I ate the kid's meal and split an adult meal. The first night we were all paranoid about making sure we had kid's meals for kids, etc., but the checkout person just cares how many meals you are purchasing total, not for whom.
You will LOVE the dining plan. I loved not having to worry about prices. I loved trying restaurants I could only dream about before. It was sooo great. And those that say it actually costs you more, are not taking into consideration that families like ours have 3-4 persons per room, vs. 2, which just multiplies your food costs, or savings in this case.
We plan on purchasing it if necessary next time, and will save up towards this goal.
We left around 5 CS credits and 8 snacks, and I would have gotten snacks for the ride home, but we got up late and EV. Pop was very busy that am and baby was cranky/running a temp, so we just left. Should have used up the snacks the night before.

Hope this helps. Any other questions? :flower:

WOW...OK, now I really believe it! No offence to anyone else, but our situations are so close. Since 2 of mine are not big eaters we will definitely be sharing some meals. I'm so excited to try the dining plan since it means less times we'll have to say "No, that's too much money" on our trip. I was planning on bringing laundry stuff already so I should be all set. Thanks for your help!

p.s. Just noticed you're from Michigan. We're from Windsor.
