I am so excited!!! My wonderfully romantic husband has surprised me with a trip to my favorite place (WDW) for our 15th anniversary. We are going the first week in June. My only problem is he wants to stay at Pop Century to make me happy but the last time we stayed there (just after it opened) the room would not get cool enough for him. Has anyone else had this problem? Have they changed the air conditioning since they opened?

If you ever have any problems with the A/C, just call maintenance, they will come and fix it. If you don't call them, they won't know that there is anything wrong.

We are doing the same for our 15th anniversery in April, and my (sigh) 39th birthday. We were going to do the romantic Jamaica trip this time around, but it was going to be quite the hassle to get kids arranged for the week, so what the heck. We will all go to Disney. :jumping1:

HAVE A GREAT TRIP :goodvibes

Has everyone seen "What's New Orlando 2005" on the Travel Channel? They show Pop Century. In case anyone missed it, it's on again tomorrow (Sunday) 2pm eastern time.

Thank you to everyone who responded to my inquiry regarding the room tempurature. I feel much better!

I just so happen to turn on the Travel channel when they started discussing Pop Century. I was so excited I called my husband in to see it. I thought the whole show was about Disney. What a disappointment - but I guess a little Disney is better than none at all.

Happy Anniversary to everyone else who is celebrating! I can hardly wait!!

There are no current plans to resume construction.

The twist is performed by the CM's at 8:00 AM and the hustle at 6:00 PM, correct? Now one is in the food court and one at the check-in area. Can anyone confirm which happens at which location?

Thanks! :cool1:

I didn't happen to catch it this year (we were just there Mar 10 - 17) but if I recall correctly from last year (and of course, they may have changed it since then) they did the hustle at 6:00 PM in the front lobby

We are staying at POP the last week of April and we have a PS for Chef Mickeys for 7:40 a.m. What would be the best way to get there from POP? Would a bus get us to the Magic Kingdom early enough to walk over to the Contemporary?

Thanks for any help

Is it possible to get a king bed room CONNECTING to a 2 double bed room? It would be great if our 4 kids could sleep in one room with the double beds and we could get the king bed for us... only thing is on our confirm ppwk it shows one Adult w/1 child in one room and one Adult with three children in the other. Should I call and request this... King connecting to a double? I have already requested the connecting part...arriving on 4/5... could we be getting too down to the wire to matter anyway?

We are going to WDW for the first time ever this year- and its during Christmas!! My question is related to another thread- do they do any decorating for the holidays? We can't really afford anything other than Pop but I dont want to disappoint my little girl either ..........TIA

KATIESMOMMY - yes, they decorate for Christmas. When I was there in January for the marathon, the Christmas tree was still up in the lobby. :)

Minmate - I know there are King/2 double bed connecting rooms. Our room at POP connected to a king. You may need to change your reservation however.

Hi everyone! If all works out according to our plans we will be staying at Pop Century this September from the 12th through the 22nd. A couple of questions though. It will be me, DH, DD age 4, DD age 14 months and DS 14 months (kids ages are at time of trip). Would it be possible for us to have a king bed room and set up the 2 pack + plays for the babies and then to bring the 4 year old her air mattress (it's the size of a toddler bed). DH is really tall and quite uncomfortable in a double bed so just curious if anyone knows the policy on this. Also, I'm curious how many room requests we can make before it's considered obnoxious. I really don't want to be *that person* but in an ideal world our room considerations are the following : we need a nonsmoking room because of DD's asthma. We need a fridge to hold her meds. We would love to be in a room that is close to the kiddy pool, playground and/or water jet area. We'd also prefer not to be on the first floor. If I actually ask for all of those things am I going to just be a pain? It seems like a lot to ask for, but I'm hoping that going in the slower season will make it easier to have some of those requests honored. Thanks in advance for your help!

Becky

The Twist and Hustle will be done in the Food Court, Lobby, and the Porte Cochere (luggage area)... pending CM availability of course.

Be out at the bus stop no later than 7:00am, and board the MK bus. Let the driver know you need to get to Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary.

There's no guarantee of getting a King, but ALL king rooms will connect to a standard double.

Thanks Tyler  I was worried about this. I'll make sure were there by 7:00 am.

Yes, I saw it. It really got me revved up for my trip in June...as if I needed it!;)

I KNOW!!! Tell me about it! I saw the show and I am going in June as well and we are going to be in the 70's building and I got so excited. The boyfriend has never been before, so he isn't excited. ::MickeyMo
