Thanks for the link to the great pics. This will be my first time to WDW since 1972 (I was 3!!) We are staying at POP 5/27-6/3 so seeing those great pictures helped!

One question what is the little car for? The one shaped like an old chevy and looks like it's a converted golf cart.

janey77 - You might want to consider sending a package to the resort with all your baby items you need for your vacation (bottled water, formula, juice, food, diapers, etc.). It would beat packing them or paying alot for these items. Lots of people do this every day at Disney resorts. Send your package with the following info.: Disney resort's name, address, your name, dates/confirmation # on the package. When you check in, ask if they have your package. Send it with enough time to get there before you do. Have a great time.

:yay:

Thanks, I've been considering that option but then thought I could just pack the lighter things in a suitcase that way once I use them, I would have a spare suitcase to bring back souvenirs and I would avoid any shipping fees by just checking them on the plane. But I don't want to pack the heavier items in that suitcase (water, juice) so was hoping I could just buy those once I got down there. Hmmm...I leave in 10 days, I guess I better make a decision soon...

Thanks for your suggestion!

I don't know what they do with that car. I never seemed to move the whole time we were there. Maybe one of the Pop experts could answer that one for you?

Wow, what a great thread!

I will be traveling with an 8 month old and am still trying to figure out what I'll do about her formula. Somebody mentioned that their is a grocery section in the food court area...does anyone know if you can buy bottled water by the gallon? Or Juice?
Thanks!

You may already know this, but each park has a Baby Care Center and they're WONDERFUL! They have everything you need from formula and baby food to medicine, plus private feeding areas with rocking chairs. A little off topic, but I also highly recommend the Kiddopotamus Ray Shade for the stroller, if you are bringing one. Only about $15 at Babies R Us, it much more effective at keeping the baby shaded in the sun than traditional stroller canopies. Hope that helps!

I have a little silly question...

I'm staying at Pop in September, and I'm in the process of organising our dinners. If I book dinner at a restaurant in another resort, are there buses that will take me there? Or do the buses only go to the parks?

Or do they just drop you off at the park entrance, and you need to make your own way to the resort / restaurant?

Does that even make sense!? Sorry! I'm a Disney newbie!!

We are also going to be at Pop in September! Can't wait! Unfortunately, the buses do not run from resort to resort. Typically, you would need to go to a park first, then get a bus to the resort where you are eating. However, there are other ways to get to some of the resorts from the parks. For instance, you can walk from MGM and Epcot to the Boardwalk, Beach/Yacht Club and Swan/Dolphin. And you can take the monorail (or boat, I think) from MK to any of the MK resorts. Have fun!!

It is convenient to be able to walk to a few resorts from the parks. As a general rule of thumb, if you have to go straight from Pop to another resort, take a bus to the park that is closest to the resort you are visiting. For instance, if you want to eat at Bomas at AKL, take the bus to AK and then transfer to a bus to the AKL. Or, if you want to eat at the Poly, CR, or GF, take the bus to the MK and then ride the monorail to that location.

You could also take a taxi.

Which park is Pop closest to?? Is it close to Blizzard Beach?

oh no!

I have a question for all you POP people :thumbsup2

I just read in another post that the buses from POP are much slower to get to the parks than those at the AS resorts...has anyone else experienced this?

My DBF & I are booked for there in July and that is our only means of transportation. I hope that the buses aern't always slower than the rest, but if they are I suppose it would be good to know ahead of time :wizard:

I got this info in 2004 & it seemed to be pretty accurate:

bus times from POP:

Epcot 5 min.

MGM 6 min.

AK 10 min. (Blizzard Beach stop is on the way, so less than that)

MK 12 min.

Never stayed at AS, but I don't see how that could be.

We thought the buses were great on both our trips.

I read that LIVE thread too! It seemed to do a lot of POP bashing.
In all the times I stayed at the POP, only once did I have a long wait for a bus. I know this because I like to sit and have a cigarette waiting for the buses...and I very rarely finish one before a bus comes.

I stayed at 2 other Dis resorts, The POP has far superior bus service.

Enjoy, You will like it there. :wizard:

okay i have NEVER waited long for buses or anyhting. I LOOOVE the bus system at POP over ANY of the other resorts! ANY of them! DH and i have stayed there quite a bit and it's fab!

I have not stayed at Pop yet, but one thing to keep in mind is that Pop has 1 bus stop. One. That means that once you're on the bus, the bus is moving straight to the park.

We stayed at POR last summer and there were several bus stops. Some of those stops were long because people waited until the last minute to fold their strollers and get organized before they could board the bus. :confused3

I know that the buses will be crowded, but at least they won't be making other stops while we're on it. That has to be a time saver!

I also think that bus service is hit-or-miss. Sometimes buses seem plentiful and other times you wait longer than you think you should. It's like this at all resorts.

I have a bus question!

I'm staying at Pop in September, and am planning to go to Pleasure Island one night - how do I get back to Pop from there? Are there buses still running that late?

On the same train of thought, if I have dining reservations at another resort, how do I get back to Pop? Are there still buses running to and from the parks, even though the actual parks are closed? Or are they kept open until the restaurants close?

So much to learn!! :confused3

Thankyou!!!

We have stayed at ASMo in March and Pop in July. We thought the busses were much better at Pop. The only place that it seemed to take longer was to AK.

What building overlooks the Foosball court at PC?

I think it is in the 70's but I wanted to request a room near that and I amnot sure what building it was.

Is it Building 6 – Mickey Mouse Phone or Building 10 – Big Wheel cart?

DD's friend is a Foosball freak! :rotfl2:

The 70's section overlooks the fooseball guys. One side facing it is the Mickey phone building, and the other side facing it is the Big Wheel building. We were on the Big Wheel side, and every morning when we opened our door we saw the Mickey Phone and it was AWESOME!!!

Thanks for spelling Fooseball correctly for me! :teeth: I knew it did not look right but I could not figure it out! :rotfl:

I sounds like you had a room exactly where we want to be! I am so excited. I can hardly wait to get there!
